Honestly I'd accept even a "we will allow a one time account erasure" answer where we have to contact customer support to have it done on there end. I can see it being an annoying but viable workaround that while not perfect would be acceptable to many if not most. -
Did you ever migrate ANY account? Like it could have been switch, ps4 etc. Because apparently it's tied directly to the accounts that have been used in migration. As an example pc to switch one would make both accounts inelegible for merge even with say an xbox account even though it was never involved.

I agree and your solution sounds great. Hell I’d even accept just needing to erase the switch account entirely as a valid solution. and in my case I want to merge my ps and Xbox accounts mostly…my pc I would very much rather keep but I could let it go even if I’d rather not. But right now I dunno if setting my ps account to my primary would let me merge Xbox or not. So unless someone else has tried this it’s a massive risk to even attempt to merge at all. At this point I honestly just want some word on this issue given it’s clearly effecting alot of users and the original faq said nothing about this if I recall right and the current one can be read to mean it is possible with accounts that were not merged before as in the non switch accounts for many of us.

This still doesn;t explain why we can;t delete one or be allowed to merge accounts that are from different consoles like my PlayStation and my pc one. I also dunno if I override my pc one woth PlayStation as my main will I still have access to my steam purhcases/will it be linked with it still? Or will it be treated as a new PF account. Or will I be able to merge with Xbox just not pc. there are alot of cases like this that as far as I know we know nothing about.

Yeah this is the case for a large number of us rn. I am hoping they do something at some point..Even if just deleting our switch account which i'd be fine with. But rn yeah no merges for those of us who jumped on it years ago.

This is my real issue..If not for some pc exclusive cosmetics i'd likely just bite the bullet myself. But i really don't want to lose those abd if i make a new pc account oh..I lose the cosmetics still since tied to my steam account and no idea what happens if i link to a different account. I'd happily just let them erase my switch account if they'd let me. It's clearly been barely touched and i don't need anything on it. Hell i even can get behind locking any migrated accounts from each other. But not letting us merge accounts that were never related is just a big no imo. As is i'm waiting to hear if DE ever addresses this properly(also the faq originally didn't say this would be an issue before when i am sure many of us first read it).

Oh it's kinda worse in that the original FAQ at worst implied we'd just not be able to merge with the migrated account..Not we'd be locked out entirely from merges. I honestly wouldn't care THAT much if not for fear of losing my steam related items(ruby rhino etc)..and like 1100 plat i have on PC.

I think you summed it up perfectly how it feels like a punishment for being a longtime player. As many have said at least offer us a way to delete one of our choice if that's really the limit(or if we link them first then let us merge after since only one account left)

I'll take this too but if it's a technical reason I think deleting one is the best we might get.. And yes i too would sacrifice my switch account at the altar of merging.

Yeah i think many read it(and especially the original version) as not being a universal flag but just for the account/system the original transfer was to and from. Meaning we assumed we could still merge with other accounts.

I assumd it's because the switch account also has the flag. I'm going to wait for my PS one to be elegible and try it then..I'll still lose my switch and probably my pc account(which has alot of time and money but oh well)..I just want to be able to merge my xbox account with my PS as primary..And play on PC. Sad thing is i need to login to unlink my steam account and just hope i keep my ruby rhino and maybe the cumulus set.

As i said in the other post I am in the same position. I get losing my switch account cool sure i rarely if ever use it. I might be ok biting the bullet on losing my pc account(though rather i be able to unsync it's connection to steam) but not even able to connect the xbox accounts a big thing rn. I've been on that platform alot reexperiemcing the game as a lower mr player and was planning to merge it when i could. Like i kiiinda get the issues with merging but why apply it to ever having been done not just the two copied accounts?

Same boat on my pc account. I transferred to my switch and now i cannot merge my xbox account which i've been playing on alot recently. I am tempted to open a new pc account to merge with but am worried about losing steam purchases such as the rubedo skin and new cumulus set since i need to login to unsync steam and pc accounts.

So I JUST did it and was able to guarantee a clear by using mags pull and ignoring the canisters..I went to the platform on the right side and used pull while on the edge to grab a bunch of enemies and let them fall to their deaths as it still counts. I then ran across to the middle platform used pull again let them fall and just went back and forth doing this. I did die twice but by doing this you can guarantee kills and generally finish with 2-3 canisters left. And since pull can be subsumed you can likely use a tankier frame to avoid death at all if that is a big deal to you.
