    Not gonna happen. Here's why:

If new players can't participate in what they see in a trailer or commercial, they're less likely to stay engaged. That's the DE philosophy.

That is such an archaic and unproven design philosophy to begin with and should be left behind. There is nothing wrong with new players not being able to participate in new content. Countless MMOs and online games already proved this wrong with expansion packs and DLCs and takes off with great success regardless. Take a look at Destiny 2's DLCs. How about the upcoming Monster Hunter: World Iceborne expansion?

I have no problem with new players being able to hop aboard a ship with or with out a clan, just make the Tau system or new star map accessible to Vets, or those MR 15 and above.

Make that MR10. MR10 is realistically where all players had began to touch the lategame. MR15 is a big slog -- bigger than neccessary.

It would be nice to summarize the article if you link it, especially when it is in a language most of us don't speak.

From what Steve said railjack is supposed to be a system tying the game together, it won't be several nodes that we unlock on the star chart. If it is going to be as integrated as they want it to be, it is going to be one of the basics.

Instead asking to put it deep in the game, ask what it has to offer deep in the game.

    From a reddit post:

During E3 2019, the editorial department had an opportunity to interview Rebecca Ford, a developer Digital Extremes. This time, I asked about new content, such as the next expansion and a new frame.

First of all, please introduce yourself briefly.
Rebecca Ford: I'm Rebecca Ford. I'm a Live Operations & Community Director at Digital Extremes. I'm in charge of "Warframe" and I have been working on it for nine years. I'll be working on Warframe for a long time to come.

How many active players are there currently?
Rebecca: The number we can reveal is that there are 50 million "Warframe" accounts. That's 50 million people around the world playing this game.

What is the population distribution by country?
Rebecca: There are a lot of users in the United States. Overall, the United States is the largest, but other regions are quite similar. If you can show the numbers I think it's amazing.

    How about Japan?
Rebecca: Japan is in the top 15 countries. Japan is also a big market for us, and it seems that everyone in Japan likes what we release. It's a mix of anime and Canadian Sci-fi. As the director is a fan of "Guyver" and "Neon Genesis Evangelion", these two influence the direction of the game.

How many people are involved in the development of "Warframe"?
Rebecca: There are almost 300 people now. There were only 10 people when I joined, so it's a big leap (laughs). At the time there were about 150 people in the studio, but I was involved in another project. Now everyone is involved in Warframe.

What is the popular frame in the development team?
    Rebecca: Maybe Excalibur.

The Nintendo switch version has been released. How has the community changed with this?
Rebecca: I love Nintendo because I grew up playing Nintendo hard. Nintendo users are creative and kind, and they value games as pure entertainment, so they are making the community more healthy.

Do you have a plan for cross-platform?
Rebecca: I do not know. If so, cross-platform will be the most difficult. I think cross-save is better than that.

So like a PS4 version at home and a Switch version outside?
Rebecca: That's right. I think it is difficult, but I would like to do it.

If there is a next-generation console, will you release the next-generation Warframe?
Rebecca: I think this game is already a seven-year-old game, so I think it is a choice to make a sequel or to continue updating it, but at the moment you can play Warframe on all platforms as much as possible so I want to continue updating.

Google announced Stadia, are you interested?
Rebecca: It's amazing! This game is a free-to-play game, so the more platforms you have, the better.

Please tell us about the next expansion, Empyrean. Will it have PvP?
Rebecca: No. Although the scale is different, imagine the space version of "Sea of Thieves". I have my own battleship and I have a gunner. While visiting familiar planets, you can do dogfights in space, board enemy spaceships, and blow up their mothership. It is completely different from the previous "Warframe".

Can I play with other random players?
Rebecca: Yes, we will use matchmaking, so it can be played by up to four people.

In the trailer, battleships were fighting each other, but what kind of battle is it actually?
Rebecca: The weapons they carry are important. First of all, battleships will shoot each other, but there are times when the enemy boards you, so you aren't using gunners all the time. It's quite troublesome when they get in.

Does the ability of a battleship change depending on the equipped frame, etc?
Rebecca: There is no such effect because battleships have inherent abilities.

What kind of reward can you get with Empyrean?
Rebecca: Good question! I haven't announced anything yet, but there is a battleship upgrade and it is possible to strengthen shields, speed, power and more. There is also a huge reward, but this will be announced in the future.

    When can Empyrean be played?
Rebecca: You will need a clan, so you need to be in a clan. In fact, it is difficult to answer this question, and it has not yet been decided if we want people to play 100 hours first, or if they can join the game and immediately play. As we have to playtest first, we have not decided on it now.

Do you plan to add an archwing?
Rebecca: That is the plan. It will be an interesting module. (?)

The Runner Warframe and the Oni Frame are newly announced . What kind of frame are they?
Rebecca: The Runner Warframe is based on a speedometer concept. It's like a race car. Increase the engine speed with an accelerator and overheat the enemy, being careful not to overheat yourself. Oni Frame is a frame that swallows the enemy. As it is the first huge frame, it's brutal and uses the enemy's life.

Wukong will be reworked. Do you have plans for other frames?
Rebecca: The Wukong rework will take place in the next few weeks. It is probably Vauban after that. We'll go back to the old ones and make adjustments to make them more fun to play.

What is the next prime frame to be added?
Rebecca: The answers is hidden in the answers so far!

Sentient tiles have been announced. What is this map like?
Rebecca: It is a map of unprecedented scale and is automatically generated. Because the ultimate villain is at the root castle, it is vast, alien chic, flashy, in Gore .... Because the Sentient is an artificial race, it has a completely new look and is designed to be unprecedented in space. It's like a reward for veteran players.

So far, there are two open world zones, Earth and Venus, but is there any further development going on?
Rebecca: Yes, it will be announced at Tennocon. You may see something under development.

What will be the biggest feature announced at Tennocon?
Rebecca: Empyrean is big. It's made using what we have learned so far. Shooter element, space element ... Space segmetns have not been very popular so far, but I make this into a wonderful thing. The space battles have to be fun.

Are there any plans for events in Japan?
Rebecca: I wanted to do it last year! But the timing did not match. I wanted to go to the Tokyo Game Show, but there was an update. I would definitely like to go to Tokyo Game Show in the future. In fact, I have never been to Japan, so I think it would be fun to have a small event in Japan. You can come too!

Gore is regulated in the PS4 version of Japan, but are you planning to loosen the regulation?
Rebecca: I'll see what we can do! More blood! Please put up with green blood if it is impossible. The German version is green (laughs).

People say that beginners do not know what to do without a wiki, but what do you think?
Rebecca: I understand the situation and I think it is a problem. People without friends already playing don't know what to do without a wiki. We're planning to improve the intro, and I'm going to announce something at Tennocon.

Some people say that long-range melee attacks are too strong compared to short-range melee attacks, what do you think?
Rebecca: I think that's right. We're trying to make melee attacks better and we're planning to balance them. It's going to be as powerful and pleasant as a ranged attack.

You often post photos of cosplay, do you like cosplay?
Rebecca: Yes, I love it! If you are a game creator, it's the best. The character of the game is digital, but I think it's great that cosplay makes it a reality.

Lastly, please give a message to Japanese fans.
Rebecca: I love you all. Thank you for making Warframe a success in Japan. I'm really happy to have a fan in Japan.

    Thank you very much.

We are just talking in general, D.E. might read it here as well but would be more direct and constructive over suggestions with more people supporting your ideas.

And I kind of agree with you on the topic.

Thank you for reminding me. I've made a topic in the feedback forum now.

  5. This thread is a response to the recent interview here. There's already so much to do in early game, yet not much at the late game. New players should be focusing on learning the game's basics and itineraries, and adding Railjack into the fray would add more complexity creep to the new player experience. It's better if you put Empyrean on the later part of the game, DE.

    Just my two cents.

I'd assume it would be at least behind The War Within + a new quest, but most new players aren't going to blindly rush to it even through it needs MR5 at the minimum.

Factor in the Clan based Drydock and construction time for Railjacks and I think it'll be behind enough of a time/grind sink to not be an early game concern without a random arbitrary lock.

Also you might want to sum up that interview, because auto translate isn't making it make sense for me at least.

I guess that means you can rely on defy in that circumstance.

If the condition of fighting infested puts you at such a disadvantage, perhaps you should use another frame.

I agree 2000000% with this. If you want armour while also playing against infested, just hop in the mission with Rhino and you're good

This is such an archaic design philosophy to begin with and should be left behind. Nobody likes being disadvantageous towards a certain faction for no real reason. There's no reason Wukong should remain disadvantageous in a game where the vast majority of well-designed frames (like Rhino) are faction agnostic.

  9. 35 minutes ago, (XB1)Knight Raime said:

In higher end missions if you have a fair bit of strength all you need is a few shots to hit you for full 1500 armor.  in lower content the armor isn't really needed.  I'm honestly not seeing the problem.

Infested is the problem here unfortunately. To copy-paste my previous post: 99% of the time, enemies are covered in Disruptor aura, and enemies covered in it will drain your energy upon hitting. Defy however, also requires enemies to hit you to charge your own armor. This means that while you can charge your Defy regardless, you will be letting your enemies drain your energy to zero every time.

Making Defy's minimum armor be 300 would be a fair "insurance" in cases where its just not viable to have enemies hit you.

  10. 11 minutes ago, Chewarette said:

Is the Ancient Disruptor invincible or something ?

Finding them is as obnoxious as finding an Energy Leech. Ancient Disruptors also spawn much more frequently than the former. You can be assured that you will have a hard time trying to strip enemies off their disruptor aura because they always respawn in no time.

  11. Just now, Chewarette said:

If you're not getting hit, 50 or 3 billion Armor is approximately the same

Why not timing your Defy more efficiently to use it when you know you're gonna get hit ?

This is impossible with Infested. 99% of the time, enemies are covered in Disruptor aura, and enemies covered in it will drain your energy upon hitting. Defy however, also requires enemies to hit you to charge your own armor. This means that while you can charge your Defy regardless, you will be letting your enemies drain your energy to zero every time.

  12. Wukong's rework is overall fun, but I think he could do with more streamlined Defy. Not everytime you will have enough incoming damage to cap Wukong's Defy, even on higher level because asides from Grineer; Corpus and Corrupted cannot reliably hit you due to them needing time to maximize accuracy, and Infested enemies will most often have Disruptor Aura which depletes your energy near-instantly if you get hit (even when charging up Defy).

In edge cases like this Defy will only result in 50 armor. I think Defy should have a minimal buff of 300 armor to give it better floor usability in general. Discounting Wukong's armor, this would give him at least 50% DR which won't entirely make the ability useless on floor level, but also give him some degree of base survivability against Corpus, Corrupted and most prominently Infested.

This is a strawman argument. Never once did I propose it was all about friends. Do not assume to generalise my point beyond it’s original context. My argument stands on it’s on merit in the domains in which it is presented. Refute that before you invent an imaginary scenario to your favour.

    Why the flying f?

"Open worlds" are just giant dead spaces with barely something to do, that is completely separated from the rest of the game and where most of the content is irrelevant for the rest of the game. Its also a massive cpu/gpu sink for lower end pcs for no reward - and it subjectively look worse than remastere earth because its still mmo, the density of flora is just not there so why bother then? It looks just "fine". Like literally, its worse things than Lua was - which is mroe interesting and beautiful place. Ive no idea why some are so psyched about "open maps". Its just a big but dead map. Thast all.

I would agree with you until I brought my friends into the game and guided them. I'll have to respectfully disagree with "content is irrelevant for the rest of the game". Ever since carrying new players through the starchart and then the open world content, my perspective on it has changed:

    • Every new players goes to open worlds when they need Focus Lens.
    • Every new players goes to Fortuna when they need Fieldron, Detonites and Mutagen Masses.
    • Plenty of players hunts Eidolons down to work on their Zenurik school.
    • Even more so are there players to hunt Eidolons for Arcanes.
    • It's a long term goal for the best melees and secondaries in the game (Zaws and Kitguns).

It's been part of the game progression since two years ago, and removing that would remove even more incentives to play the game than it already is. There's another glaring issue with the main content of the game that I found when I was handholding them across the starchart: a worse realization. A realization that: Starchart is just as, if not even more dead than open world was. Seriously, there is nothing to do there. Hydron, Index and Fissures are the only relevant nodes. Everything else was dead. Kuva Fortress is on life support. Lua is borderline dying. Void is absolutely forgotten. Arbitration is a walking corpse. There was just nothing.

I would argue: there's a bigger problem when the rest of the game is so dead, that it had to hinge on Open Worlds to give the game a long-term goal like Focus and Arcanes.

I don't think it's that. I molecular primed them many times when they were just next to me, with absolutely no effect.

This is the issue. When you are next to them, you are caught in the dispelling pulse. The dispelling pulse cancels all of your on-going abilities and also cleanses itself off any debuffs (including prime). Keep your distance and you can see that Molecular Prime re-applies immediately after dispelling.

  16. 1 hour ago, Enialyx said:

How about you stop calling me a liar?

What I described was exactly what happened. Nova's Molecular Prime had zero effect on the demolyst.

Molecular prime works on all Demolysts. What you described only applies to Demolyst MOA (out of four possible Demolysts), which total immunity only begins when you damage it past a certain point. The fact that the original post passed off one case of immunity as a whole is plain misleading.

Now, we can politely consider why this was so:
Does the demolyst become rapidly immune to abilities?

Was it a bug, such as (PS4)Final_Dragon01 reported?
Was it entirely unaffected by design?

Beyond this, what Steel_Rook said also holds. The demolyst is largely immune to abilities. Some entirely, some 90%.

Thank the Janus Key it was still susceptible to Khora's entangle. For a few seconds, until with one demolyst "invalid target" began spamming.

Q: Does the demolyst become rapidly immune to abilities?
A: No, they pulse out nullifying field occasionally. This only dispels abilities on himself and those around him (including your ability if you are close enough to be affected) and does not make himself fully immune.

Q: Was it caught and slowed for two seconds while running towards the conduit?
A: It is slowed for a few seconds until the dispel field but due to the nature of Molecular Prime, the ability immediately reapplies post-dispel and the re-application can last up to several times, so long as Nova's ability timer is still up (keep your distance to not caught in Demolyst's dispel field, in which case will dispel the entire ability).

Q: Was it a bug, such as (PS4)Final_Dragon01 reported?
A: Quite sure it's a bug. No way to confirm it but the majority of the time, the dispelling field only dispels abilities not cause permanent nullification.

Q: Was it entirely unaffected by design?
A: Certain abilities have different interactions. Stun-oriented abilities do not affect Demolysts themselves, but I believe someone who had done better study should answer this better: https://www.reddit.com/r/Warframe/comments/bsztro/a_study_on_amalgams_demolysts_and_their/

Q: Beyond this, what Steel_Rook said also holds. The demolyst is largely immune to abilities. Some entirely, some 90%.
    A: I've replied this to Steel_Rook's post.

Which exactly are the lies? I've not tested the Nova in the OP because I don't have that build, but I've tested an Inaros and a Garaa. None of Inaros' control effects affect any of the Demolyst, and Garaa's glass wall shatters shortly after a Demolyst makes contact with it. Yesterday, we found out that Mag's Counter Pulse seemed to affect all Demolyst Moas, but with the game mode being this new I'm not entirely sure what's intended and what isn't.

I know that Demolysts have a pulsing Nullifier aura on themselves, so it seems to me that they're designed to ignore Warframe abilities. My suspicion is that a lot of the more oddly-coded ones slipped through the cracks and will be addressed in future patches, but I'm working under the belief that the personal Nullifier aura is intended to make Demolysts effectively immune to abilities.

He claimed that Demolysts are absolutely not affected by Molecular Prime anymore. This is nothing short but false, and can be very easily confirmed in-game that Molecular Prime does work on every single Demolyst variants, save for Demolyst MOA and that's only after a threshold of their health bar have been damaged.

The way Demolysts work is that they occasionally pulses out nullifying field, but contrary to popular belief this does not make them completely immune. Rather, they simply dispel all debuffs which any working CC can re-affect it immediately. This can be seen just as easily when using Nova's Molecular Prime where the ability re-affects the Demolyst several times without any hitch.

As for your other points: Stun-based CC does not work on Demolysts, which is why Inaros' CC doesn't work. Walls and obstructions such as Atlas and Gara actually works, however as they occasionally pulses out nullifying field, they get disabled in close proximity rendering them organically ineffective.

  18. 5 hours ago, Enialyx said:

So a few days ago, the demolyst could be slowed by Nova's molecular prime just fine.
    Today, absolutely no effect.

Could we please stop with these immune HP sink bosses?

It cuts down variety from the game, directing players to use frames which merely buff themselves or the group.

Everyone, this is disingenuously false. I just tested it out with slow Nova and only Amalgam MOAs (not Satyr) are immune to abilities and thats only after you damage them to a certain point.

OP. Stop. Stop spreading lies unless you understand what you're talking about.
