The scanner blinks enticingly as Cephalon Palutu searches for any deviation from the standard models, bathing some small part of the hallway in soft orange, promising detection to any who walks under its gaze. Meanwhile, the group would hear... grunting? Indistinct, but numerous. If one were to estimate their numbers and locations, they were likely seconds away from entering the room, numbering somewhere near a dozen, maybe more, approaching from the direction where the bodies of their allies had been left, but showing no indication that they had noticed. However, that would very likely change within seconds, if they were to open the gate to the sight of not one, but three Tenno operatives among them. Just as they realise this, Palutu's scans would finish, indicating that there was nothing special regarding the sensor, only serving to alert the system to an intrusion, should sufficient identification not be provided.

Gamma Squad would need to act now, and decide whether they'd take their chances executing the number without a single one barking out an indication to their presence, or hiding in the room guarded by the ever vigilant scanner.

"Standard Grineer ID verification scanner. No modifications. Destroying one won't trigger an alarm in the system." Though the team probably doesn't want to break the sensor so that it looks visibly broken.

Noises. More peoole. Beta Squad's plan not fulfilled on schedule? Hmm. This is inconvenient.

"Assuming Beta Squad being late. Requesting course of action. Time limit: Seconds."

With a little effort and a bit of diversion, Insali managed to slip past the sensor and the door, taking a step in the empty room, as the doors closed behind him.

The Excalibur noticed the console, and had no inclination of touching it. Best let Palutu get to it first. He decided it'd be best to check the walls for any loose panel, or masked doors. Not the Grineer standard, but this obviously wasn't a standard Grineer ship.

Cyrus staggers back after being half flung, trying to prise his blade out of the Grineer's grasp with the momentum. Clearly a melee approach wasn't the most efficient use of his time, no matter how useful the data on Mire might be. If he is successful in retrieving his sword, Cyrus moves away from the melee fray and joins his Specter in throwing Castanas at the commander. Otherwise, he continues trying to free his weapon from Rak's grip.

Naradin steps back, surprised. The power of Rak's was shocking. Normally, this wouldn't faze Naradin, but the target was successfully defending itself from the Tenno. The only time Rak seemed to be weak is when the electricity of the Castanas shocked his armor. Naradin needed to find a weak point in the Grineer's armor quickly before the mechanical beast went on the offensive.

Suddenly, an idea came into Naradin's head. He brought along vials of acid. Despite popular belief, acid would to melt the armor. Thankfully though, it would corrode the metal.

Naradin speedily holstered his Akvasto, and drew his Lenz. He then gingerly plucked an arrow out of his quiver. After this, he reached into one of his pockets and pulled out the vials. If he was careful, Naradin could bind the vials to the arrow, thereby allowing Naradin the chance to devastate Rak's armor.

"Hey," Naradin called out, "Does anyone have string or tape?"

[Morgan - Beta]

This definitely wasn't going to be easy. Ruk's armour was tough but did he have protection against a flash of radial blind?

Only one way to find out.

Presenting and raising her Exalted Blade, she sent another Radial Blind outward to try and Blind the Grineer Commander before she started to send a few waves of her blade towards his joints

While Insali searched the room for a console, Dov stood ready, waiting for the group of enemies to arrive. He looked at Andrea, thinking of a possible plan.

"Andrea," he whispered. "When they walk in through the door, I'll activate my Discharge. When they're stunned, kill the survivors with your melee, and try being as silent as possible. Sounds good?" he asked, looking at her for an answer, then back at the door.

He could feel the adrenaline rushing through his body, the thrill of the fight building up inside his body. It was like an electric stream, starting from his toes and slowly rising up his body, splitting at his arms and reaching down towards his hands, forcing him to open and close his fists.
Oh. how he missed this feeling.

Now, isn't this inconvenient. Finally a patrol, but it seems to be too big to deal with quietly. She would've loved to just charge in with the element of surprise, it could work, but they'd require good coordination. But with these guys? They wouldn't be able to finish a puzzle together.

And as she looked to the side, she would just be proven right as she sees no trace of one of her squadmates. He's more of a punk than she thought. But if he's gonna act without warning, so is she. To hell with that scanner, she thought as she opened the door to the room again and driving her dagger through the sensor, hoping to disable it and take refuge within the small space.

And finally they decided to work together, or at least one did. It's better than nothing, so she agreed. Behind the transference stream, she grinned. She would get to land the killing blow on all of them. This might become the most exciting stealth mass execution ever.

Dagger raised, prone and ready to lunge, she watches and waits for her mark. Silent she shall be, her feet don't even touch the ground after all.

While the other groups were plagued by unclear puzzles and mental dilemmas, Beta and Delta Groups were facing something similarly difficult themselves. Despite having made headway with the discovery that electricity could mess with the mechanisms of the armor, they still faced the question of how to end such a bulky creature. In an attempt to answer that question, the first to attack had resumed his attempts. Cyrus quickly ripped his Mire away from the centimeter-deep indentation, aiming to slash at the Grineer's side, only to find his assault halted quite abruptly. A massive, armored hand had taken hold of his melee weapon. While the one that had blocked the first attack was still out of commission, the other was seemingly unaffected, much like the rest of the hulking body. The man yanks on the blade, aiming to send both it and its wielder sprawling across the room, but manages only half of the movement before his other arm is sent twitching by a second round of Castanas.

This opportunity would not go unnoticed. Immediately, a hail of shots aimed for a mixture of legs and joints rang across the room, leaving minor indents along the thick armor plating that coated every part of the abomination, setting the stage for the final attacker of the turn. The Gauss clears the room in a split second,  capitalising on her absolutely ridiculous speed to jump and launch herself at Rak, looking for the swift end, and finding it with both of her Fangs embedded some distance into the skull of the armor, something that should have rightly ended the man. It was around here, however, that she would notice that the lumbering brute had not even flinched, her attack having lacked the feeling one would normally associate with cutting into flesh. Her folly would be responded to quickly, the ridiculously heavy arm that had been stunned first pistoning into her side.

[Marie - Beta Team]

Marie's eyes widened as her Fang blades had stabbed into something which was certainly not flesh. Rak Ski'talla seemed completely unaffected by her surprise attack, even with two blades stabbed directly into his head. What...? She thought. However, before she could collect her thoughts, Rak Ski'talla's arm smashed into her side, launching Marie across the room as her Fang blades were pulled out of his helmet. With the Kinetic Plating and energy shielding surrounding her body, most of the damage from the impact had been negated, so Marie was less wounded than she would have been if her abilities had been inactive. Crashing across the ground, she managed to flip back onto her feet while fighting the pain from Rak Ski'talla's punch, considering a portion of the attack had still dealt some significant damage.

However, Rak Ski'talla's attack had also worked to her advantage - she had been thrown away from his position, which was now under attack from multiple angles as Cyrus and the Limbo threw Castanas towards Rak, while Morgan summoned her Exalted Blade, releasing a Radial Blind and firing several dozen energy waves towards the imposing Grineer opponent. Marie holstered her Fang blades, before hearing Naradin's question. Who would have string or tape in this situation? That does not make sense. She thought. Marie pulled out her Akzani dual pistols, before joining the barrage as she opened fire towards Rak Ski'talla, alongside Cyrus, the Limbo, and Morgan.

And like that, the group was split in two, a decision whose repercussions would be felt almost immediately. The events would begin with the console coming to life, pulsing gently in order to grab attention. Upon closer inspection, Insali would notice that the device was proclaiming a lack of identification, directing him to stand in front of the scanner on this side of the entrance. This, however, would be quite difficult, as for just a few moments, the Excalibur would have been able to see the tip of Andrea's blade... on the wrong side of the room.

As for the other group, they would find that they are no longer able to open the door, not due to the scanner, but due to one man's unexpected decision to abandon his party. Regardless, time waited for no man, the door eventually cracking open to reveal six Lancers and two Troopers, seemingly patrolling in a noticeably large group. It seemed that there was something keeping Beta Group busy.

Odd, huh?

Beta/Delta

Speaking of things occupying Beta Group...

The scene within the room still maintained the aura of chaos, the last exchange of blows having left all involved somewhat slightly worse off. That is, except Rak, who, after allowing Cyrus to escape with his blade in hand, had only experienced some aggressive spasming due to malfunctioning electronics. A flash of blinding light explodes through the room, forcing the manbeast to cover... his upper torso? This, however would not last long, as a flurry of Castanas force Rak to go down on one knee, arm shaking like he was barely maintaining the weight of his own existence.

While this was occurring, Marie's AkZani shots continued pinging off of the unbelievably heavy armor, serving to do no more damage than the average fly would, much like the majority of the other bugbites, such as the number of energy waves that were doing little more than creating small scorch marks where they had directly impacted. Further expanding on the comparison, the sheer number of the bites were driving the Grineer mad, whipping out what could best be described as an oversized Kohm. With a roar, he begins a rampage, unloading round after round on Morgan as he ran, seemingly aiming to shoulder tackle her.

There was, however, one slight detail that one of the group may have noticed. While Marie had been emptying her clip, she may have noticed that the 'wall' she had hit, was indeed an airlock, which, while currently sealed shut, would not necessarily need to stay that way...

[Morgan - Beta]

A few things ran in and around Morgan's head.

One of them was the bullet from the AkZani bullet that zipped past her head by an inch and the other was that upper torso holding. What was that about? A Radial Blind from an Excalibur only targeted the eyes...unless his head wasn't his head. Morgan quickly deflected a few of the Kohm pellets that flew towards her, some hit her shields but she remained stalwart until she then bullet jumped over the charging bull then proceeded to pull her Pandero out, letting round after round crack from her gun as she aimed for the knee and elbow joints of the Commander.

"No wonder he didn't flinch when you put those Fangs into his eyes." Morgan spoke out on the encrypted Tenno comms to Marie, a theory forming in her head to what she witnessed.  "That's a false head, he's just head in a walking tank!"

Regardless, time waited for no man, the door eventually cracking open to reveal six Lancers and two Troopers, seemingly patrolling in a noticeably large group. It seemed that there was something keeping Beta Group busy.

It took Dov half a second register the amount of Grineer entering the door, and another half of a second to activate his Discharge.

Energy was drawn from his reservoirs, converting at the joints of his suit into electricity. It crackled and popped, his Volt's conductive skin acting like a Tesla coil. The lightning trapped in his frame moved at an inconviceable speed, itching for release, looking for a ground. Due to expert Orokin engineering, his boots prevented the energy from releasing into the floor beneath it.
With no other options, the Grineer had to act as the lightning's release.

Blue tendrils of electricity extended from his skin, seeking the hostiles and zapping them, latching onto them and finding their way to the ground, distrupting their cloned muscles, causing them to sieze up and contract.

Two of the weaker Lancers' hearts found themselves too weak to handle to voltage and failed.

With two of the Grineer taken care of with good ol' cardiac arrest,  and the other six stunned and dying, Andrea would have no problem taking care of them in time.

The spasms the electric pulses were causing were aggravatingly short, and apparently were doing no long-term damage; if they were, it was too slow, wouldn't be quick enough to get on with their task. And if they took too long, who knows where they could end up? The airlock stood, a window to the great nothing - not the greatest way to die, slowly floating in a void devoid of all, but one that didn't need the team to slowly shut down his electronics, or chip through his inordinately thick plating. The problem was, it was locked.

With Rak mostly occupied, Cyrus uses the opportunity to scan the battlefield for something monitor-like, that might help open the airlock. Blasting it open was a possibility, but a horrible one that would wipe out half the Children's volunteers in a heartbeat.

"Rak is uh...he's tough," Cyrus radios in, trying to keep his voice from being heard by the Grineer tank. "We might need a more...outside the ship solution...?"

Peh, only six? Hardly a warm up. Despite the long wait, Andrea sprung forward at a moment's notice, the lancers well unable to fight back as electricity is coursing through their veins. Two flopped over just from that already, it's almost funny.

Still, this required speed and precision. Dagger in hand, she aimed for quick and vulnerable spots on the grineer to get a quick stab or slash in, mostly around the neck area. They can't scream with a throat full of blood. The face is also a good spot of unmasked, there's no screaming if there's no brain to give the command. A little too quick but it gets the job done.

It was all done so quickly, one would just see a flurry of strikes as she danced inbetween them, electricity and blood spraying about, dirtying her frame with sprinkles of red.

"Ain't that a kick in the head..." Insali muttered, after noticing a dagger flash for less than a second.

"Guess I'm on my own now..." the Excalibur mused, slowly approaching the console.

He wasn't entirely comfortable with the placing of it. And the sudden change of where what had been, did no good to his mental map, he'd been keeping.

The immediate Grineer issue taken care of. That is optimal. However, same couldn't be said about the closed door and blocked access to the console.

"Calculating options. Cursory calculation complete."

There are at least three options. The Cephalon procees to inform their squad mates -- including Insali who they attempt to contact over decrypted short-distance signal that would fade away quickly as distance would increase.

"Three solutions (minimum) available. One, find another way to a console, I am processing a route. Downside, route not quaranteed to be efficient. Two, attempt to break this door. Downside, the door is durable. Three, using the operative on the other side of the door as a link to hack into the console they can now reach. Downside, it is not as efficient as direct plug-in. What is your decision, operatives?"

While talking, Palutu is working more on background. The Cephalon uses the map to seek the route to next possible console, seek the structure of the door, and evaluate the pros and cons of trying to hack into the console remotely using Insali.

[Marie - Beta Team]

Marie reloaded her Akzani dual pistols, keeping her distance from Rak Ski'talla. Her smaller physique meant that if Rak attacked her at close range, she wouldn't stand a chance against his superior physical strength. Her chance at ending him quickly had gone by as well. Suddenly, her encrypted Tenno Comms lit up as Morgan contacted Marie. Listening to Morgan's theory, Marie narrowed her eyes. "That may be true, but unfortunately we have no way to make sure. We do not know his vital points due to his various cybernetic parts, and we cannot waste time guessing." Marie responded quietly over Comms as she continued to provide covering fire with her Akzani dual pistols. They needed a way to deal with Rak.

And then, she noticed the airlock behind her, which was sealed shut. But it was never always closed. Suddenly, Marie heard Cyrus speak on the encrypted Tenno Comms as well. "I agree. There is an airlock behind me, but it is currently sealed shut. I believe blasting it open is not a good option either considering we would also be victims. Does anybody see a monitor or console nearby which could potentially control the airlocks?" Marie asked over the encrypted Tenno Comms. Suddenly, she ran forwards, and slammed her foot into the ground - activating Thermal Sunder and releasing a wave of freezing cold towards Rak Ski'talla. Marie hoped that it would slow the imposing Grineer and give the team enough time to think of a way to deal with him.

Blood. Gore. Carnage. Death. The Tenno carry with them a trail spread thick through the universe, a trail of suffering and destruction, now embodied by the, for lack of a better word, annihilation of the patrol squad. Jolts of electricity flew through the crowd, bringing death to many, all while the rest were picked off with the grace of a whirling dervish, dancing through the numbers. Their frames dripped with lifeblood, every drop sapping just a bit of the battle high that had overtaken them, the bloodthirsty beasts receding back under the skin as reality realigned itself. Right... Insali was still stuck inside the room.

Said Tenno would find himself face to face with... a countdown, as he approached the screen.

"Thirty seconds until whole room purge. Present identification."

Perhaps now would be a good time to put those famed Tenno hacking skills to use...

As for Palutu, their number of evaluations would skyrocket for a few moments as they process the sheer amount of information needed to evaluate the ideal course of action. Based on average Grineer ship builds, one could surmise that the door was far too strong for the Tenno to really break through. Furthermore, Palutu's installation, while ideally served by accessing all three systems, could work with only two, making the concept of remote hacking far too time consuming to be worth it. Lastly, the next console wasn't particularly far away, much faster to reach and access than anything regarding Insali would be. Furthermore, there was the possibility that the group would be able to remotely unlock the door Insali was stuck behind from the next point.

Elsewhere, things were happening. Morgan had successfully avoided the raging bull, choosing to soar between its horns, firing piercing rounds from her Pandero, filling the beast with lead. However, she had clearly underestimated the sheer speed with which he could act. In a burst of speed that could only be attributed to a momentary surge of hydraulic pressure, forcing the arm to pistol out, missing the leg of the Tenno by barely half an inch, having clearly miscalculated the speed at which he could move, something that could be credited to the sudden surge of ice, coating the Grineer's whole lower body in frost. At first, it seemed to be a momentary fix, only being able to keep the man immobile for seconds. However, seconds then stretched into minutes as they realised that the cold had messed with something in the systems, and it was taking a while to fix itself.

This, however, would not be the end of the man. Regardless of the fact that he could no longer roam, he continued firing and firing his gun, peppering the walls and the Tenno's position in a hail of lead, aiming to burst them down before they became too much of a threat. This, however, would not be a viable plan for long as the group would be able to spot a nigh inconspicuous panel by Cyrus, deliberately placed on the opposite wall to the airlock to avoid accidental activation. He would need to find a chance to properly hack into the system, whatever they were planning to accomplish.

"Wow... It's almost like this is some game..." Insali chuckled to himself, pulling out a Cipher, and attaching it to the console port.

These little data carriers were a godsend to someone who was not on good terms with tech and hacking. Like Insali.

Now it should take but a second for the encrypted script to run and bypass the lock, cancelling the purge command.

Dov nodded his head. Not wasting any time on the bodies, he shook himself out of his electrified state and sprinted towards the waypoint.

Andrea had taken a moment to feel the blood drip, the bodies plummet, the air losing it's tension. A good slaying was just what she needed during this bore of a mission. But annoyingly, noticing the volt dash off she had to cut this moment short, running off after him. The Excalibur is somewhat at the back of her mind now, uncaring for whatever mess he got himself into. Until he's back, they're a two men squad now, meaning more targets for her.

Marie continued to spray Rak Ski'talla with a hail of bullets, no matter how they little damage they were doing - they still were troublesome for him, after all. Suddenly, she spotted the panel near Cyrus. "There is a panel near you. If you can use it to open the airlock, then please do so. I can utilise my Thermal Sunder ability to blast Rak Ski'talla towards the airlock if it is opened." Marie said to Cyrus over the encrypted Tenno Comms. While speaking, she kept her distance from Rak Ski'talla, not only to remain outside of his attack range but to also prevent him from hearing her speak.

Beta/Delta

That was close.

Morgan had to admit that this bull was faster than they appeared and that gun of his was starting to become pretty worrisome. She looked over to Marie as they gave the plan whilst she joined in with sending incendiary lead towards Rak's direction "I don't know how long we'll be able to hold him so act fast!" she exclaimed. Rak was powerful and the fact they had body parts replaced in different sections made it difficult to determine which part was weakest to their gunfire.

This would be a difficult firefight indeed, she then turned to Naradin and called out "I want you to hold onto something! We've got a rather dangerous plan!" she may as well let the human know of the plan on how to rid themselves of Rak.

Gamma

While outside all hell had been breaking loose, Gamma's mission so far had not come to much more than walking down a hallway and dispatching a patrol. Seeming just as bored as they had been executing the enemies, Dov and Andrea made their way across the ship, hoping that perhaps something more exciting would happen at some point. It took a few minutes, but they were finally at the second vault, a heavily fortified room, laid out quite similarly to the one they had just moved past.

For just a few moments, it seemed like they would be stuck repeating mindless tasks over and over. Then a blastwave rends the hull, cutting through every layer of defense the door had to produce a ridiculously large cut in front of them, folding edges hard enough that even the doors they would have used to enter had been broken off of their frame. Oddly, however, there was no sucking, no escaping of air, no... anything. That was not normal, and neither were the instructions that followed.

"Gamma Squad, change of plans. The recent... events have lead to Palutu's entry points becoming compromised, and the plans have changed. We'll be choking out the remaining forces. You are to exit the ship, and to deactivate the environmental shields through a maintenance system. I've marked it on your HUDs."

Did... did he just say that they need to exit the ship?

Elsewhere, Insali was experiencing something completely different. Where he was located, the gash was much thinner, and much more shallow, creating a hole just large enough for him to exit through. His exit, however, would not be as easy as the others'. The warping of the hull had been just large enough to begin warping the walls, revealing a glint of something metallic and silver underneath.

Beta/Delta

In another part of the ship, an unexpected battle raged. The members of Beta and Delta groups danced around the numerous bullet holes that were appearing all over the walls, the mad beast firing shots at any moving target. However, they knew that they would eventually get caught. That is, until it happens. A blastwave beyond anything they could have imagined, punching a massive hole into the hull, folding the walls inwards as the wave travelled. Any close to the wall would have been launched into the opposing wall hard enough to wind them, and yet...

There is no gust of wind as the pressure normalised. There was no escaping air. There was no hissing sound. There was nothing. Some sort of shielding preventing escaping air? But there had been one when they had entered through the airlock. Perhaps there was a difference between the airlocks and the general hull?

(Sry for the late post)

Naradin was having a terrible time. The bullets spraying, blood flying, and the humongous explosion that should have killed them. This mission was not what he expected. He had enough of this, for his patience was running short.

He shoved his akvasto into their holsters. He had a terrible idea, hopefully it would work. Since the explosion from the outside could not kill the beast of a grineer, perhaps an explosion from the inside could finish the job.

Naradin drew his Lenz, furious at the futility of his and his team’s actions to kill the monstrosity. He nocked an arrow and drew, hoping he was not out an idiot for making this decision.

Finally, He aimed the bow at the Rak. Naradin makes anger stewed.  Naradin needed to do something to release it. He decided to say four words.

“Oi Rak!” yelled Naradin, “P*** Off!”

He released the arrow.
