Open Call for Warframe Theme Ideas!

A warframe stuck between dimensions, but in a different way than limbo. They were trying to make a warframe from a sentient, but when it backfired they threw it into the void to kill it. Instead of dieing, it was stuck in almost a man in the wall state. It is here, but has trouble staying here. It can phase into enemy units, and only has abilities based on the units it controls, with no abilities of its own. The abilities are strong, but kill the host to run them (while they also take damage from other enemies.) While phased you also use the unit's weapons as well. As you kill the hosts, you have to switch to new ones.

I would love a spider like female frame with 4-6 limbs on the back. It would be amazing to use it as some kind of movement passive ability.

Maybe with a movement system like the Aliens in Alien versus Predator, where you could just walk up the walls. Would be interesting to play a level upside down.

A Warframe designed to stay still a lot.

This may sound absurd, given the game's emphasis on mobility, but considering DE successfully designed a pacifist frame (Baruuk) into an action shooter, perhaps another apparent contradiction could be tried.

Lots of real-life inspiration could come into play here, from ambush predators to still-life photography.  Disguising oneself as inanimate object could be fun.  And of course, there's always the Baruuk-like possibility to occasionally let loose with a whirlwind of speed and agility.

It's time for a frame based on 'Redistribution of resources'

Resources= Health, Armor, Energy,Ammo, Adaptation stacks, Combo counter, etc.

Key words= Give, Take, Share, Equality, Average, Link, Empty, Full

Seen some very nice themes so far!

Gunsmith (arsenalis)

Passive:

JARVIS combat AI

Shows all equipped weapons and guns ammo even when not equipped, gun switching is instant and max ammo is basically infinite for unequipped weapons(like archwing regen but the max ammo is hidden), also adds 10 extra seconds duration to next ability cast when 5 enemies are killed with guns.

This AI also can identify the weapon, the damage per shot and ammo in mag of enemy and ally when aimed at (useful for new players so it shouldnt be locked behind endgame quests).

1.Callibrations: distributes DPS buffs to all ranged weapons(toggleable):

str buffs every damage related stat.(this would be relatively little in each stat at base but noticeable overall), this might need a effective DPS counter in the arsenal.

range buffs beam and offshoot beam range, aoe range, min and max faloff range and projectile speed.

efficiency gives chance to not consume ammo and speeds up battery weapon delay and recharge speed

Duration buffs projectile duration and status duration, ammo reload when not equipped and equipped reload speed.

All Negative categories will become a debuff and increase all positive categories proportionally in return. This would be shown along the current level bonuses(50% range  75% effi and 150% str is basically 225% str)

Gives 1/2 the bonuses to squad in xp range ignoring any debuff stats. Other arsenalis can override ally buff highest value in each slot.

2. Brother in Arms:

Summon Jarvis holographic hands in an aoe ghost weapon doubling mode for all allies, single pistols get ghost pistol dual weild with 2x the modded mag capacity, any other gun gets 2nd pair of ghost hands and also 2x mag. reload before half the mag takes 1/2 the time. Enables aim and shooting while sprinting. Enemies in range have their fire rate and mag capacity halved.  The closer arsenalis is the higher chance their weapon will jam. Bonuses dont scale, only dur effi and range do.

3: Equipment Matrix:

Selects the config of equipped weapon for the rest of the mission and as long as there is more than 0 mods in the slot. this is an aimed hold to select in a directional wheel like the gear menu. This is the only excption and also works on melee. If a scanner or non configurable tool is equipped it switches Arsenalis config.

4 GunForge:

constructsa custom channeled per shot primary weapon, can switch between 4 models before or after summmon: auto rifle, auto shotgun, sniper and opticor, all these are modded in the arsenal separately, their characteristics, base stats and visuals(scope, silencer, mag size, bore, muzzleflash size, barrel length and muzzlebrake) adapt based on mods equipped, the more you mod for something the more the stats shift and unused mod slots increase overall dps. This is a finite pool and for example fire rate and crit damage will decrease all other stats. This behaves like a 2nd primary slot with 4 weapons to customize but they share the same polarities and xp, they have their own mods lots and visuals for each type tho.

A Dreadnought Warframe wielding an exalted Halberd (not a Polearm (!)) that is focused on taking enemy aggression upfront and protecting his team no matter the cost.

"Designed to be a royal guard, this Warframe was the last bastion the incoming threat had to overcome to get their hands on the target, but they never did. Wielding a Halberd - he would always establish his own rules on the battlefield, no matter how much outnumbered the enemies had him. Despite the enhanced plating that would protect him from the barrages of bullets and explosions his agility allowed him to quickly slash trough the battlefield delivering deadly sweeping blows to any unfortunate souls who dared to oppose him. When he emerges on the battlefield - breathe easy Tenno, he's got you covered."

Maybe a Warframe that was created to hunt down rebellious Grineer and Corpus during the era of the Orokin, and they could look like something absolutely crazy or something that instills pure fear in the populous. I'm not sure if this already exists in the game however cause there's just so many 😕

Theme:storyteller summoner

Blades for the brave, only blind dare approach-a company of swordsmen(melee bonus)

Statues of archers,a gaze,unwanted vigil-alive ruins depicting archers(primary bonus)

Eyes in the sky, awaiting to grant a glimpse of demise-similar to a  group of drones(secondary bonus)

Shield for the reckless, the wall shall not fall- shield creature(armor bonus)

A hero to cheer for,so sad he will fall-a "hero"summon that can be sacrificed for a boon(health bonus)

Lone maiden so fair,of her shadow beware-a creature who retaliates by use of its shadow (shield bonus)

The greatest test of all,a dragon so tall-it's a dragon do i need to say more?(power strength bonus)

now that the failed/horrible attempt at poetry is over, maybe i should explain how this entire disaster can function:only one summon at a time, all summons have drain while active and 5% of all damage taken is also taken out of energy of the caster, while summoned it has a better version of it's active and yes all have a active that is not the summon

passive:depending on summon gain a passive bonus

first skill:blades related:the frame dash attacks twice forward and returning to initial spot, example of empowered active:while summoned the summons dash with the frame(I'm not making for all as it's too soon, this is just to sell the theme)

second skill-archers/drones/shield/"hero" archers focus fire a target with bonus fire-rate,drones fire a powerful ray, shield transmutes damage takes into a heal, hero dies for buffs depending on damage he's done

third skill:lone maiden/shadow creature similar to octavia 1 but functioning more like a nyx in ultimate but on active swaps the two creatures making the summon vulnerable but increasing it's damage output

forth skill:dragon no comment....actually let the frame ride it in combat there done

Cold, fast, silent.

The Comet Warframe (name suggestions: Koma/Comette, but open to others) strikes fast with icy shards and caustic jets from within the obscuring protection of her frigid coma. Relying on speed and stealth, this warframe is not a blunt instrument, but rather a scalpel, closing her orbit until her objective is achieved or her enemies are vanquished.

The original concept behind Koma was a “sister” to Frost that was faster and stealthier than her sibling, leaning heavily into both the “Space” and “Ninja” parts of Warframe. While doing further research, a lot of fun facts were learned about the actual astronomical bodies which sparked a wide range of options on abilities and construction. If the concept is picked up, there’s a lot there to work with.

Thanks for your consideration and best of luck to everyone entering the contest.

[ Edit 1: Something resembling a backstory... or storyline: ]

The Origin System has a visitor, but it's not the Sentinels... something else has returned... a remnant of an older time?

Then the object transmits a signal... a set of instructions... a trajectory.

The Grineer sortie, war barges hoping to intercept. The Corpus lay wagers on salvage or scrap. The Infested watch, always hungry for fresh prey.

The Cephalons search old lore, finally wrestling a consensus amongst themselves. It's a Warframe: a scout, a spy, and if all else failed, an assassin.

But the ship's landing destination has moved since its launch so long ago. If not recovered, it will spin out of the Origin System once again, perhaps never to return.

It's up to you, Tenno.

Warframe Idea Submission

"Thorn"

General Idea:

Thorn is a male warframe who uses his natural agility and spiked carapace to damage enemies with his own body. He can also use his spiked body to attack enemies at long range by shooting the spikes out of his body. The point of this warframe is to allow players to use parkour as a way to damage enemies in combat. Like equinox, Thorn can change between two forms, with his spiked form allowing for fun combat maneuvers, and his no-spikes form allowing for damage-reflection.

Physical Features:

The warframe is masculine, but is very thin. His skin is covered in a thin layer of metallic scales. The scales are very smooth, shiny, and silver-colored. The scales are located all over his body except for his eyes. His eyes are placed slightly below a scale, so it looks like he is angry due to the placement of the scale. Basically, the scale above his eye functions as an eyebrow. When Thorn changes to his spiked form, the scales rotate out to form spikes. The rotations happen very quick, but not instantly. Thorn has to contract some of his muscles to cause the spikes to rotate outward. Some of the spikes are different lengths. Spikes on larger parts of his body are larger and smaller spikes are on smaller parts of his body. The spikes are rotated in many different directions, to create a porcupine-like look.

Powers:

The scales on Thorn's body are naturally reflective, and make it slightly easier to move at higher speeds due to less wind resistance. The scales have lots of functionality. They can reflect certain types of damage. They do the best against non-piercing weapons. As a bonus, the scales make it easier to slide. The scales on his body can extend to form spikes or thorns that he can use to damage enemies nearby by running into them or by jumping onto them. He has the ability to shoot his spikes off his skin in the direction his spikes are facing. So the spikes on his arms can be aimed to shoot out at enemies. If attacked by a crowd, he can shoot all of his scales at once in every direction. He can control the spikes to go back onto his body if they leave it. When his spikes/scales are gone, he becomes weaker to damage, but slightly more agile. When the spikes are extended and on his body, he can retract the spikes to revert back to his scaled form.

Backstory:

Nobody knows where Thorn came from. The beautiful, glistening shine of his scaly skin betray his true form; one of pain and torture. The prickly nature of Thorn is difficult to wrap one's head around. He is an empty shell; yet, he lashes out at everything that he finds threatening. It seems like maybe there is something within him, something he keeps tucked away. A memory of something that made him this way. Was he always so aggressive? Only the most powerful of operators could ever find out, but would it even be worth it?

An Aurora themed Warframe could be pretty cool. The abilities would likely revolve around magnetic and radiation damage as the Aurora borealis/australis phenomenon is caused by the sun's radiation deflecting off the earth's magnetosphere. This Warframe would likely end up filling a defense or support role.

Possible things an Aurora themed Warframe could have:

  1. A group shield buff, possibly with status immunity
  2. Possibly some sort of reactive shield that applies an effect to the enemy or ally upon being struck
  3. A damage ability focused around the solar winds
  4. A unique interaction with incoming energy based attacks. Like deflecting/reflecting them if your shields are up
  5. Something involving geomagnetic storms
  6. Really neat particle effects! Can you imagine how nice it would look with the dual energy colors!

How about a worker frame. Something not originally built for war but menial labor (the Orokin war machine needed resources, as all armies does)  Something that originally was used to work under hazardous conditions. Something that could be used and abused but would still function. Something that is simple, rugged, and reliable, reliable enough that a tenno could use it as a war fighter in a pinch during the rebellion. An unassuming frame, but it just works (no pun intended).

My idea for a theme of a warframe is Morality.

I'd like for there to be a spider-like warframe that can trap enemies in webs and never kill them, rather either ragdoll them or "knock them unconscious" with your natural fists (yes, he can't use guns or melee)

However if he experiences death around him, he loses his sense of moral and goes berserk, changing his appearance to become more spider-like. In this state he can kill other enemies with his normal weapons and all finishers he does gives him 100% health and energy restoration but the finisher speed is 2x slower.

The more he kills, the more he regains his sense of morality until he returns to his normal state.

Oh and, I know this will be nearly impossible to do but, can he be able to webdash and blast groups of enemies to a nearby wall and make them stick in place?

Also give him an aero vantage passive ability if he is punching or shooting enemies in the air. Let it be duration-based with a 5 second lingering effect.

That's all I have, thanks for reading this. Hopefully I get a chance for someone to at least find this concept interesting.

May the best Tenno win ^^7
