ProfessorRobledo Posted May 1, 2014 Share Posted May 1, 2014 Just to point something out here, it is literally impossible for an invasion to lock us out of Vay Hek's boss fight at this point in the game. Boss nodes can't change faction, and Lt. Lech Kril's boss node (Exta) was changed to be on the shipyard tileset. As a result, there will always be a place for Prosecutors to spawn. DE has a bad habit that needs to be broken with RNG grind walls and this is perfect opportunity to use existing game mechanics and throw it back in their faces by block content access. They have been told again and again they way the setup the RNG grind wall and content gating is not good. They have not yet showing any inclination to listen and give minimal mumbled lipservice. By getting Corpus 100% domination of Ceres (the only place grinner Prosecutors spawn) we can efficiently break access to the Vey Hek boss fight. Once again, 100% domination is NOT POSSIBLE. Boss nodes can't change faction, Exta has the shipyard tile set, and Prosecutors spawn on the shipyard tile set. However, 99% Corpus domination will make farming take so long thanks to stupid RNG, that he might as well be locked out for anyone that either A: doesn't have much free time, B: isn't willing to pay plat, or C: doesn't have the level of masochism required for farming. You are very much right in this regard. There's a grind regardless though, and RNG will still have just as much of an influence as on any other map. Yes, a Survival would make it easier due to the constantly spawning enemies, but Hek's never truly locked out of the game. RNG can both instantly give you what you need, or make it take weeks of grinding to get what you need. That's just the system working as it's supposed to. It's called random number generation for a reason. Giving the Corpus control of Ceres will not prove to DE that their game is broken, rather it will enforce that the game is working as intended. Invasions are there, when it comes down to it, for players to decide which faction they want in control of a node. If the players decide to put the Corpus in control of Ceres, DE has no reason to change it. They've already prevented the 100% lock out that the OP is trying to achieve by putting Exta on the shipyards. All this will do is make it harder for those players who have yet to get Hydroid to fight Hek, and will just lead to more frustration than the original RNG wall due to the lower spawn rates of Prosecutors.
