Feallike
Ya Warframes are not Ninjas.. They have some atributes of a Ninja.. but they aren't ninjas.... Now let me tell you some atributes of a Ninja... They: Never talked, where vegetarians, only wore navy blue, Killed as a last resort, never left evidence that they where there, communicated in a secret written word, they where stealthy, made weapons of there own modifications, and they Where not bullets sponges! Now lets see Warframes idea of a Ninja: Never talked: Pro Chat i guess = unique language? Pro? You can color yourself navy blue? pro? Well they never eat so Pro This game is kill joy so con A ok stealth system is in this game so pro/con The bodies disintegrate when they die... so pro? We have mods, and tenno made weapons: Pro We are pretty huge bullets sponges. :/ Warframes version of a Ninja is better than most games version, but this game is still killjoy so we are not true ninjas.. we are more of a Warrior or a Solder, but Kiddos DE you didn't do half bad. :) Not bad at all. :) Edit: Remember this isn't a Hate thread, DE did a far better job then the creators of Ninjas gaiden did.. >_> Edited May 3, 2014 by Feallike
Cinderain
Ninja never talked? That would have made things difficult. And they were vegetarians, too? Based on what?

Feallike
Well, It's probably year 4000 something in the Warframe universe, the definition of "Ninja" may have changed. True very true, it could have changed, but the fact remains that until we get some lore on this that slogen for Ninjas play for free is being used pretty loosely. A real Ninja game: Mark of the Ninja, literally the only accurate Ninja game.
Cinderain
Well, It's probably year 4000 something in the Warframe universe, the definition of "Ninja" may have changed. Ninja-equivalents still exist today. Historically, they were like the special forces of their time, once they became more "organized" over time. But, there are schools and dojos today that teach Ninjutsu based on the old ninja teachings and training. However, there is a lot of arguing between schools about the historical accuracy of their teachings. Ninjutsu, which entails the training of ninja, is about survival and unconventional warfare, consisting of several teachings and fighting arts. Ninja were average villagers or farmers who took up arms for their own survival, samurai who lost their master or were shamed in batte, etc. They evolved over time, grew more organized, became swords for hire, started schools and clans. Different ninja did different things, for their own gain or hired to do the dirty work of others. Of course, the typical tasks that we all know of were also performed, assassination and whatnot, but that's not all there is to them, far from it. (Not everyone in the CIA is a trained assassin) Some were bodyguards, others were tasked with gathering information or spreading/planting misinformation and open combat isn't unheard of, when necessary, like The Siege of Fushimi Castle, where ninja are reported to have assisted in it's defense, which led to the battle of Sekigahara, after which ninja of the Koga and Iga clans served the shogunate as guards and police forces. There's also the Shimibara Rebellion, which is very well-documented. Equipment-wise, they took advantage of whatever they could get their hands on, used whatever the situation demanded, including explosives and firearms. But not only man-made items, they learned the world around them, utilizing nature as a weapon against their enemies. They had no uniform, no black pyjamas. They dressed like anyone else, would sometimes wear samurai armor, or small, lighter chain armor tucked under normal clothing. A real Ninja game: Mark of the Ninja, literally the only accurate Ninja game. Gotta correct you here. Even Mark of the Ninja is very incorrect about how ninjas were. They were not shadow warriors, or anything like that. They were farmers.
VoidPunch
Before you tell us these things you will need to back up your argument with legitimate sources Yup this right here. Anyways, the Devs only used the term "ninja" because the community took it too far when the Steve said that you can wall run like a ninja when they first implemented it. It's the communities fault for the whole ninja thing. Edited May 3, 2014 by HandsOfnArtist

fatpig84
RL ninjas can assassinate someone by being in a lavatory stall, or rather under it. So when the target sits / squats down to take a dump, they can stab a spear up there. I am sure many people will stop playing Warfarm when they try to kill Nef anyo who is taking a dump with them under neath. On the bright side, RL ninjas also use a ton of firearms even a primitive flamethrower and explosives. That is where Warfarm got this in spades. Pandoran_Stallion
Actual Japanese history time from a real Japanese guy! Ninjas were assassins. They were farmers for the most part. They used improvised farming tools and their ingenuity to make weapons. They most certainly were not silent. They wore dark colors- navy blue and dark green were prevalent. If they were vegetarian, it was probably because they grew the stuff. Finally, these guys were hired for political assasinations- they killed as few people as possible, but killing was NOT a last resort. That's not to say they're murderers- they were very smart revolutionaries. But in Japan calling something ninja is practically an insult to this day. The reason? They didn't fight honorably- they would slip something into your tea, stick a dart in your throat, or throw a digging tool at your head- which was considered low and dishonorable. Those descended from samurai (like me) still have a wee issue with people glorifying ninjas. Well, second gen Japanese but you get the point. Also, we are definitely ninjas- we're farmers.
