TrinityPrime
Ya so, tying yourself to a telephone pole is probably one of the easier ways to get killed during a hurricane. I think the number one way would be to go surfing. Edited August 8, 2014 by KnotOfMetal

notlamprey
I've never been in a hurricane before :o I wonder what it's like... In lower Alabama, we break out the portable generators and monopoly. At least, that was the paradigm when I was a kid. These days, it's probably more like generators and laptops. It's fairly common for families living in geographically favored locations to host "Hurricane parties" for friends they haven't seen in a while. What better way to catch up than to have a long sleepover with your besties? Usually, it doesn't get any worse than perhaps "one cold shower and fans instead of central HVAC for a day or two." I'm not sure what Hawaii's tropical storm preparedness is like, but I'm guessing it'll roll off the islands just as easily as folks down here manage it. Stay safe, and enjoy a little unplanned vacation while the storm passes. :)
