Who's Ready For Volt Prime And Prime Access? (The Hype Megathread)

Recommended Posts

because Loki is a specialist in deception and speed is essential for him

His 1: a Decoy that does not guarantee to gather all enemies attention

His 2: Invisibilty, nothing else

His 3: Switch teleport. "confuses" a single enemy

His 4: Forcing enemies into melee. Making them attack each other with Augment. For 12 seconds....maximum....5 seconds if you are using Fleeting expertise

Volt:

His 1 provides a minor CC to all arced enemies (spammable)

His 2 provides him and allies additional sprint speed and CC with the Shocking Speed Augment

His 3 provides a directional Shield with a damage/flight speed buff for Weapons

His 4 provides a DOT with CC

TL;DR: Volts skills have more CC and Damage than Lokis and he also has a castable Speed buff. I think he can manage not being the fastest Frame

Skills were never in question. Lore and general sense of the frame was. It does make more sense for Volt to be speedier than all the rest because lightning.

So I think it's safe to say we know volt prime is next in U16. Cough.. cough *data. But what I wanted to know if you had to choose one of normal volts stats to be buffed, which one would you choose ?

I personally would want his based speed to be 1.25. The same as loki prime or maybe higher like 1.4, it would be beautiful.

1.4 would be freaking fast. 1.25 is good. XD

1.15-1.25 speed with 125 base health or something would be perfect.

Volt has to be fast because lightning?

lightnings are not that fast. what you percieve as a fast movement is actually just electrons being pushed a tiny distance and then pushing more electrons.

Electricity is the drift of electrons in a medium (copper for example)

and while it's true that electric devices react more or less instantly as soon as the switch is flipped the electrons themself move incredibbly slow.

Electrons in a typical wire move at ~0.00028 m/s.

And to all people not familliar with the metric system that's ~0.0006263422 mph

But why does my light turn on instantly when i flip the switch you ask?

It's because the electrons push each other in the wire.

/troll on:

Volt players should be thankful Volt moves at all

/troll off

"lightning bolt moves at 224,000 mph" iunno man. Plus since when does anyone care about a single electron's speed when in reality they are so close that they produce the electricity we know and love. " electron is traveling at about 2,200 kilometers per second" quick google searches cause i did really want to know. So yeah.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Drift_velocity

Electrons may move 2200 km/s in a vacuum tube which as the name suggests contains a vacuum and you can hardly describe the stream of electrons in a vacuum tube as a lightning bolt

The "speed" of a Lightning bolt is comparable to a wave on a Pond.

The front of the wave seems to move when it's just the interaction of the electrons with each other

And people do care. mostly scientists and Physics enthusiasts but they still care

1.2 move speed, atleast 65 armor.

I have an idea, how about, none? And we remove the extra stats from the other primes?... I suspect that isn't going to be a popular suggestion.

Then what would be the point of getting the prime frames?

Why do people want armor, I rather have high base speed or higher base shields.

To be fair, that didnt stop people from getting mag prime, frost prime, or ember prime before primes had buffed stats.

People want the armor because 15 armor is pretty sad. IIRC someone did a chart of the frames survivability, Volt was the squishiest. 65 armor would make him atleast on par with MAG.

Also... true. DE when MAG P and Frost P stat changes?

No. That would defeat the purpose of prime frames.

I know a lot of people see it that way. Originally, primes where just cosmetics and/or status symbols. I personally prefer it that way, but that's just me.
