"Yes. I've hidden that suit of armour you saw in the rubble, and rigged it with a grenade. But if it isn't there, and neither are the supplies..."

A sudden pause...

"... go to the grave yard. Now."

"What am I looking for, an exhumed grave?" asked Tara, drawing her pistols and heading out of the church hall and into the courtyard that led to the graveyard. "I need more information here Hayden."

"He means the plane that leaves once a month," Annika cut in. She'd had her door propped open, and had overhead the conversation. Now she stood in the hatch to her room, glaring at Alad. "The same plane that I won papers for a small package out. Though I'm sure Alad wouldn't mind sharing what else comes and goes on that plane."

Her tone was mild as she spoke, but it held an undercurrent of steel. Dimitri would likely recognise it as the type of tone used by sergeants and senior NCOs to get their troops to fall in line without actually giving them an order.

Dmitri frowned and then looked to Alad before returning his gaze to Annika with a raised eyebrow "Where does Nef get this money?" he asked curiously to her. An operation this big had to have some sort of financial operation.

"From what I can tell, tariffs, protection rackets and rigged casinos. There may be more but I didn't get the opportunity to do much questioning about where his finances come from."

Annika shifted her gaze to Alad, not bothering to hide her disdain for the scientist. "No, we aren't going to blow it up. At least, there is no plan to." She frowned slightly. "It does worry me that Nef could export virus material. It could cause a second wave of infections, and I doubt this time it will be contained to one country."

After some hesitations I decide to speak up about the plane.

"I should say that... For all I know with what you got Annika and what Alad added to it..." I pause a second forcing myself to elude unnecessary details and clear  up my thoughts. "This plane could be a thing from Sakuraba, but that's just an assulption, which though would explain how it can fly under the radar of the blocus, it also means we wouldn't be running into the cannon fodder we faced up until now." I feel my throat itching from calling those soldiers "cannon fodder"  but there was no denying that they were nothing more for their higher ups. "And I might have some intels on how Sakuraba is structured, though only surface level, but I have no idea how their military are structured..." I then wait for them to answer

Annika cocked an eyebrow at Cyriann's words. "Common room, five minutes, try and remember all that you can." The words were not a request, but an order. A solider Annika was, but she was also an intelligence analyst. Her former skill set had been in action recently. Now it was time to employ the latter.

She slipped back into her room, grabbed her notebook and pen, then headed to the common room via the kitchen. More tea was required for this.

Dmitri raised an Eyebrow at Annika's change of behavior before he looked to Alad and quickly moved his stuff into his new place before he proceeded to prepare more tea and coffee for the common room.

He had a feeling he'll need a LOT of coffee for this next mission.

"Just go to the grave yard, and turn right near the entrance." Hayden replied hastily through the radio "Look for a gravestone with... with a carved out name."

Following Hayden's instructions, Tara would see a couple of graves near the entrance, but one stood out. Unlike the other gaves, this one's gravestone was missing it's name slab, so instead a name was carved it's surface by something sharp. The name read Nadia Sudek. The dirt before it seemed freshly dug compared to the other graves which we likely dug before the outbreak, while this one was hastily made by a survivor of today's time. There were footprints around, but of warying shapes and sizes, likely of the infected.

"You really do not know much about why he's so famous, hm?" Alad inquired "Among the aforementioned sources of income, you may have heard he's the head of a religion... the followers of the Void. People started getting all obsessed with staring into the sky ever since they saw some golden glimmer. And, cheeky Nefaniel, managed to convice them that he is the prophet of this supernatural entity, the Void, who's faith centered about wealth and profit. Now, you're probably asking yourselves, how could anyone believe something so ridiculous? By brainwashing the poor of course. That's why he's here. He takes in the desperate and broken, and teaches them that all they need to do to for things to be alright again, is to fill his pockets. Clever, no? Except, tell a lie long enough, and you'll start to believe it..." the scientist had fallen silent. It seems he feels like he shared enough about the subject.

"I wouldn't worry about the technocyte shipment. Another breakout is just bad for business. Sometimes we need to take great risks to move forward as a race. Sometimes even sacrifices. Try to remember that, Tenno."

" I... Err..." Things went fast from Annika leaving the room to Alad a

Making a big assumption." For all I know of them Alad, you were just used as a replacement and tester to not have them involving their real R&D in here. Philia always despised that way of working, getting people to do their work in their stead while letting them to believe that they were the ones doing the job." I sigh. "But then again, I am merely a fool."

I motion to Sereena that I'm leaving, after all, Annika's tone left little to imagine that she wanted to talk ASAP, so I headed to the common room trying to piece my knowledge on Sakuraba to make things as clear as I could possibly get them.

Cup of tea in hand, Annika returned to the common room. She took a sip, placed the mug down on the table and scooped up her notebook. She flicked through to an empty page, scribbled a title for it and the date, then flicked her gaze up to Cyriann.

"I don't expect you to remember everything now," she said, "but we need as much as you can remember. Admittedly this information might not be truly useful for a while, but better to have it now then for it to come up later when its too late." She tucked a loose strand of hair behind her ear, the notebook  propped on her knee. "Right, start with the important people, their positions, and what you know about them. Every detail may matter."

I sit down, massaging my temples to keep my focus on.

"Important peoples are mostly the Sakuraba family and the ones close to them. So we have Gengoro Sakuraba, who is the CEO, for all I know we shouldn't be seeing him here as he controls everything from their main base in Kyoto, but we shouldn't think he couldn't be coming to take direct control of the operations. Philia told me he only did so for important matters, and Lasria is most likely a high priority one. She told me he isn't looking like much in his usual red high class costume, but is in fact well versed in martial arts and weapon handling, be it firearms or close range weapon. One of her stories involved him breaking a man's jaw bare handed without warning to get his point across... For all she told me he is a strict, straight and firm person who never backs up on his words, but that makes him able to be extremely cruel.

Next I'd say Kyoko Sakuraba Eliana, his wife, and Philia's mother, she is the main head behind most of Sakuraba's research projects, she is an expert in cybernetic and robotic but also has great knowledge in the biology field. She doesn't fret on sacrificing lives for her experiments and neither does she feels restrained by laws and morals, if she ever has her hands on technocyte and Alad's works, we will be in for a horror show in the matter of little to no time...

There's also Jin Sakuraba, he is the eldest of the Sakuraba's children, and a psychopath for all Philia accepted to tell me about him. The guy is sadistic to a sickening point and Sakuraba's most expert interrogator, I suppose laws and morals aren't restriants for him just like his mother... Other than that I don't know much more on him.

Of course there's Ren Sakuraba, that piece of..." I stop a short instant to take a breath to not throw my anger just talking about him. "Sorry, he is their second son, and where Jin is a psychopath this guy has been shaped as the perfect soldier, strength, strategy, martial arts, weapon wielding, anything a soldier can do he does it best, at least that's how they present it. I don't know much on his psyche other than he is very, very pride, I'll always remeber when I brike his nose off clean, Philia told me he was still angry about it a year later, if you want to trigger him do speak of that he looses his cool instantly, I saw it on the..." My gaze lowers. "Ship, before the incident with Mimas..." I then look up to Sereena for a moment before continuing.

"Obviously there's Philia, their third child and only daughter, they raised her in a golden cage she was authorized to leave only through internet and to go to school. Forunately it is this golden cage that got her to despise her own family so much, she's always been a pacifist, even though she knows how to defend herself, and she fled her home on many occasions, was it to see me, her friends living in Tokyo or that one friend I never got a chance to know since they were penpals. I..." I stop again looking to Sereena, not knowing what I should and could add without feeling bad or telling things she might not want to know and so preferred to stop here.

"That's the best I can tell you on the important personalities I remember Annika." I conclude waiting for another question.

Annika was writing furiously, her short hand script compressed onto the A5 page, her eyebrows scrunched up in a frown of concentration, not only taking notes of what Cyriann said, but adding a few quick observations of her own based on what he said. She continued writing for several seconds after he finished, then paused to run her eyes over the page. She looked up and tilted her head.

"You say Philia came to see you? What was your relationship with her?" The question was completely innocent, Annika not realising the potential minefield she'd just stepped in.

Sereena seemed to have perked with curiosity at the mention of Philia before Annika had asked anything more on her, although unlike Annika she was less keen on asking about it. Thus Zek decided to voice her curiousity for her.

"Yes, please do tell us more about Philia, we're curious!" He chirped out far too cheerily.

Sereena was quietly wishing Zek hadn't said we.

I palm my face, I had completely forgot I talked of Philia only once, why did I imagined they all remembered, worst, Annika wasn't even there at that time so there were no way she could have known.

"Philia was..." I exhale longly trying to find the correct wording. "My previous girlfriend we'll say, though..." I look back at Sereena. "I know now that it wasn't..." I pause again pursing my lips as I unconsciously lock eyes with Sereena. "Let's say she will most probably stay my best friend for all life, with her cheery attitude and all that went with it, even though it was faked a lot, I knew she only wanted the others to think that she was doing well, even when she wasn't in reality."
I do not feel it, but I know I have a soft smile, just from all those memories, the games through internet, the tchats, messages how we could loose hours on end talking about everything but our lives, she truely is one of those people I hope I could keep close for all life, even though things had taken quite a dark turn.

Annika eyed Cyriann silently, studying not only with her eyes, but also with her mind. She read the emotion that ran through both Cyriann and Sereena, the way they fluctuated and varied. She could feel the slight discomfort that radiated of the Frenchman at having to talk about Philia with Sereena right next him, Sereena's greater discomfort at the fact, the buried curiosity that was there. She didn't need to read Cyriann's emotions to know of the fondness that he (clearly still) held for Philia, and the slight guilt because of it.

All this happened in a the time it took to draw breath and then release it. Annika blinked, and was back in business mode. "You said the mother, Kyoko, was an scientist and an engineer. Do you know what sort of projects she worked on?"

"The blood smells different from normal human blood, you can draw your own conclusions as to how I know what normal human blood smells like. And it doesn't quite smell of infected blood so if I were to make a guess... this Nadia Sudek's one of us, correct? Do you want me to go after her?"

She paused for a moment, thinking about his reaction to what she's been saying.

"Also, don't mean to pry into your business but... this Nadia, was she anyone to you?"

I smile back to Sereena as she does, forcing myself to go over all I could.

"Well... I think these, bipedal things you described roaming the city with the guards could be one thing she made, though I'd need confirmations on that. Other than that, I remember reading a paper saying she had made a break through for prosthetics recently, calling it... Err... Neurotic Prosthesis, as it was able to try and interface with the neural system. Also Philia was always joking about her mother wanting to make powerarmors to enhance soldiers, an idea she got seeing one of our game if I recall well, though nothing really seemed to come out of that one."

I pause scratching my head as I try find other things I would remember but nothing seems to come to my mind.

Once more, it took Hayden a while to respond. Tara could not see what was taking him so long on the other end, but he was there. He was just... quiet.

"Nadia was an old friend." he finally spoke "Oldest friend I probably ever had. We go way back in the Angency. Me, her, Mezmer, Victor..." he stopped "... that is my responsibility. If there aren't any threats around, the place is a viable meeting point for the syndicates. You can come back." It seems she'll need to inquire more if she really feels like prying more info out of him.

Whilst Annika, Cyriann and Sereena talked, Dmitri decided to head out and find where Jean had gotten too, he hadn't seen here since she got back from that safe zone Annika and Tara were sent to, he called out as he entered each room the others weren't in "Jean? Jean! Where are you?!" as he searched though the submarine's first floor before heading down to the second floor.

"Old friend huh? Right. The church is clear for now but I'd probably come scout again ahead of any meeting if and when we're meeting with the syndicates, just to make sure it's safe. In the meantime, I'm gonna go and see if I can scrounge up some supplies for us. Guns, ammo, medicine, food or anything we can use. I'll let you know if I find anything." said Tara as she headed out of the church's courtyard with her Garand drawn.

As she explored her surroundings in near dead silence, Tara got to thinking about her own equipment and how everyone else seemed to have these frames that expanded on their abilities and how she didn't. She remembered the reason that was given in the file she read about herself that her powers were too volatile, too complex to actually make a frame for. Considering that her power included transformation of tecnocyte flesh into fully-functioning firearms and how unstable her powers were before, there's some truth to what was said in the file.

"Wonder what it'd take for me to get a boost like what the others have got..." she thought as she came across a barricaded store. "I'll probably have to set that aside till my next comms report, maybe talk to that creepy guy who likes to play with needles about it."

"Power armour?" Annika's pen hovered over the page of her notebook, eyebrows raised as her mind raced and whirled. "Are you certain she failed on that front? After all, I'm fairly sure our warframes could be described as power armour. And mine certainly has neural interfaces, otherwise it would be unable to channel my powers." She made a note in the margins to talk to Alad.
