Game needs "fat" warframes

What I mean is if you want to introduce a minority representation in a product you need to do it in a correct way. Wall-running obese ninjas is nothing more than ridiculing overweight people. Introducing a representation just for the sake of it being there is demeaning both to the represented group and us as consumers. In other words, this is a stupid idea.

You looked at the artwork in the OP too much. My post doesn't beg for unhealthy obesity

Whatever maximum is on the slider. Haven't thought about it in a while though. I'll double check to make sure. Good call.

Yeah I was just wondering because I don't have the same issue as you :)

Warframes are supposed to look like they're powerful and strike fear into the enemy's heart when they're seen. I have never met a 5', 350+ lb person I was actively afraid of just because they walk up to me quickly. I can't say the same about a man who's 6'4" and hella jacked.

If they make a frame specifically to "represent" that archetype, then yes, it's actually pretty rude because making something special to represent people just because they're different IS rude. Aside from that, it's pushing PC in a place where it's not necessary OR warranted. There's absolutely no reason to make a "fat" frame unless it's part of the theme.

Nothing else considered, and I thought I'd point this out, is that Warframes aren't like RPG characters that you can fully customize to your liking. We've got colors, helmets, and armor. I'd also like to mention that there aren't actually that many RPGs where you can choose to be terribly overweight. Fable doesn't really count because there is absolutely nothing serious about those games.

I might have, but it is generel enough to make an argument. Anyway, I think @xRufus7x has summed up the whole discussion perfectly.

It should be fat operator, if anything, because most of the frames were made artificially and it makes not sense to intentionally make an oversized frame.

The operators, however, stayed hibernation for years so it is possible for them to grow (although they seem to not have metabolism...) into different sizes.

and a side note, I think vauban is relatively more chubby compare to the others

Yah but I don't think that the operators were fed in a way that would allow them to gain weight or keep it.

When they were in the pods.

Why exactly would a frame be "fat" in the first place? I can get bulkier like rhino but if we are to assume that they to any extent work biologically then the sheer fact that it's exercising all day as it kills stuff would build more muscle than fat

yes, i shouldn't word it that way, but before they were put in stasis, they could be of different size

fat is used to store energy in most animals... how about the fatter the WF, the more energy it can store?  like having a primed flow on your thighs

Indeed. Look at Darth Baras from SWTOR. That man was a powerhouse.

If you want a "fat" Warframe, you should consider making a concept in the appropriate subforum. If you can come up with an amazing theme and kit then you may convince me. As others have said, basing a Warframe on the concept of being fat is an awful idea. Base it on a more appropriate concept, and if being fat fits thematically then by all means make the Warframe fat.

I wouldn't be against the idea so long as it's done tastefully and with a theme that makes sense, but I don't see it happening. Wouldn't fit with the theme and I'm not sure how many people would want to play the frame. Even for the sake of political correctness, I could see it going wrong.

Here's the thing, both in terms of lore and in terms of design, the 'frames we have are power fantasies. To paraphrase the off-voice (which may or may not have been the Lotus) in Second Dreams (and avoiding spoilers), "Think not of who you are, but who you want to be" (I say paraphrase because it's been a while and I don't want to be told I misquoted it). Think of what the warframes are and their relationship to the Tenno and you can immediately see my point here. This is also true of video games in general, and as an overweight person myself, I'm not sure I would be attracted to an overweight warframe just because it's an overweight character. On the contrary, I'd probably still go for a more fit character because that's "who (I) want to be". This isn't an insecurity thing, mind you, I'm perfectly fine the way I am and am not exactly trying very hard to lose my pot belly. But frankly, if you gave me an easy choice with zero effort required between being a buff tough-guy or a fat guy, well, it's kind of an easy choice.

This might work, however, for a male warframe. There are plenty of archetypes in fiction and mythology of fit, powerful and yet husky men. It could be doable on that end. Here's my question though, and I'm asking this because there's a very serious tone of political correctness that's seeping into this discussion: where's your fat chick? I say it might make sense depending on theme and all to make a husky male warframe, but I can't think of a whole lot of similar female archetypes in mythology or fiction, and for the sake of pc, that would create it's own problem. As is, the warframes all have relatively ideal body types and this makes sense considering the power fantasy angle. At the same type, I do applaud warframe because the body types are still somewhat diverse considering this; compare bulky Rhino to Nekros's bony @$$ and then Saryn's generous, umm, proportions to Nova's, uhh... yeah. Look, before anyone jumps at my throat here, pc isn't my cup of tea; I'm the kinda guy who questions why we can't use fun four letter words in the forums of a game that's rated M without risking getting reported. However, it's one angle to think about and here's my opinion looking at it from there, and it is something we need to broach in this specific topic.

TL;DR? There are thematic reasons why the warframes have idealized body types and why I'm fine with them staying that way and if we force a fat warframe solely for the sake of political correctness, even from that angle it might f*** up. Badly.
