The last we know is that umbra has been pushed back to the next cinematic quest again ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ 

At this rate, we shouldn't expect Umbra before September 2017

I mean no offense, but you clearly have no idea what you're talking about,starting from the difference between a cinematic(trailer) and a cinematic quest. 

@OP: U20 is the current plan, so sometime in the second half of 2017.

let me make it clear from myself, the possible umbra in the war within keeps me playing

as well as i leave, no deal, no big words, no drama, nothing, i simply leave without a umbra in the war within ... thats a promise ^^)

(my expression even that im not english native is conciously chosen)

There is 2 Warframe builds, Global and Changyu builds, the Global build had Excal prime as its Founder package which ended 3 years ago but Changyu build weren't released at that time so DE made Umbra Excal as a Founder Package for Changyu build.

Umbra is a timed exclusivity deal and it won't come to Global build soon, also if you/ we want Umbra right now then DE must provide Changyu build with another exclusive something to compensate for releasing their Founder item to us, would you want that to happen? do you want DE to keep making exclusive items which we will want and may end up screaming at them for doing so even though its us who asked them to give Changyu items before they can deliver it to us without pissing off Changyu crowd?

Or better yet, release Excal prime to their build and Changyu will release Umbra Excal to Global build, tough call to make for DE :(

Excalibur Umbra is not the equivalent of a founders package in Changyu build, it was just made to attract more attention in China. From the beginning they said that it would be exclusive only for a limited time. So no, the reason we are not getting him right now is not because they would need to make another thing for China, but because it is not ready yet (they want him to be more than a reskin, with his own lore).

There is no Umbra in TWW. DE has confirmed that. So if that's all you're playing for, then allow me to escort you to the door.

It's 2017 bound, not 'next couple of years.' Cinematics are not easy to make, and with the size of DE taken into consideration, it all adds up. 

And again, people need to start learning to pay attention. The devs have stated multiple times that Umbra is far more than just a skin, and it will be more than just Excal. It will play a major role in Warframe's lore, and definitely not a skin.
