These weapons are not even remotely comparable. One is a claw weapon and the other is a katana. Not comparable at all

depends, immediately nikana prime is better, however venka prime scale multitudes better than any melee weapon in the game

nikana is meta. Obviously people will jump to that. Try other amazing crit melees or other Claws like ripkas. Prisma Dual Cleavers is a good example.

It really depends on what you're doing. I don't know both of the weapons' stats well, but Nikana Prime is just excellent, while claw weapons are the top dogs of ground finisher damage. As an Oberon user, I'd probably always use Venka Prime over Nikana Prime.

Venka does surprisingly well with a crit and status. With the multiplier buff, you can get away with two dual stats and weeping wounds and you'll be causing slash and viral so often. I've tested it on lvl 100 Gunners and it melts them with that build, but weapons that have at least 20% crit and status will have the same effect with the build.

Venka. Red crits within 15 hits, huge crit damage, lots of slash procs, awesome damage multiplier, knockdown on slam with amazing ground finishers. The only drawback is tha range. 

Plus , they look bloody amazing.

Nikana blind justice has aoe knockdown with rmb combo for dress crit slash proc finishers. Plus it's aoe. In the grand scheme of things the best melee weapons are those that not only offer amazing damage but also cheap cc (tempo Royale). So nikana wins.

I find the venka to be better, they hit faster, build combo faster, have increased combo, which means more blood rush and damage. the only real drawback is the range.

Four Riders has a combo that finishes on a ground slam as well. It also has cheap CC.
