/unstuck Why Are We Punished For Your Mistakes?

When you get stuck in terrain you can use the /unstuck command to get free and continue playing. If you use it though you can only complete the current mission but then you can not continue playing with your current group. You are forced to exit the game and a popup appears so you can enter info about the bug.

 

It really sucks to have to break your momentum and tell your group "hold on guys I have to exit and log back in." Undoubtedly most people just hit cancel on the popup box and log back in. This achieves nothing and feels like punishment for something that was not even our fault.

 

Please allow us to fill in the bug report at our leisure. Most of us may bother to type something useful if we were not being rushed.

It's simpler for them to just close the game and start the bug report box.

 

Remember this is still beta, we're not being punished for their mistakes.

 

YOU signed an agreement stating they would allow you to play under the assumption you were a beta tester, most people, including myself, forget this and treat it like a complete game when in reality: it isn't

The problem is that when you create a report through the pop up you aren't just sending the report you type up, the game is also sending more specific information to the server about what when wrong. That means you have to do it then and there otherwise the information is lost.

Generally, the information you provide is only useful for recreating the issue and not fixing it on a programming level.

If the issue can be recreated reliably then it gives DE a good foundation for fixing the issue.

You're not being punished. This is to help them identify the issue so that they can fix it so it doesn't happen again....

 

 

Also, it keeps /unstuck from being exploited all the time like in other games.

How can you exploit /unstuck in warframe? If you aren't stuck nothing happens?

 

The game is still in Beta after all these years? It's just a leglity.

 

The game should just automatically record the stuck persons coordinates and maybe have an in-game dialogue box (maybe in Inbox menu) in case we want to supply further info.

 

The alternative to using /unstuck is to just stay where you are and let your squad finish the mission without you. /unstuck in it's current form promotes this behaviour. If i'm in a exterminate/invasion i look at the kill count to determine whether i should bother using /unstuck or not.



You're not being punished. 

 

It feels like punishment and even if I didn't feel that way I have explained that forcing people to leave the game and do some homework for the devs when they are in a fast moving group is unlikely to achieve any productive results. Writing a bug report should be optional. Just take the coordinates and add them to a list of stuff to be worked on.

Seriously, is this so important and tragic?

 

You make it sound like this is one of harshest "punishments" there are ever. Second to Ordis ejecting all of your Kubrows and your Excalibur losing all of his formas.

 

I have had to use unstuck three times ever since it was introduced. It takes literally 30 seconds to restart the game, plus 20 seconds to help DE fixing it. It's so fast and painless that I normally don't even notice it.

 

 

 

I'm sorry that you resent being a beta-tester of the game and help the developers to improve their game.

 

Yes, it is tragic that DE makes a free game and asks you 20 seconds to improve the tilesets. How dare they make such demands of you :-(

I can't believe so many of you believe it is a good thing that players are forced to leave the game and hit cancel on a dialogue box and then log back in. I'm willing to bet that this is what most players are doing.

 

No one has said how /unstuck can be exploited but many of you seem to be focusing on that fact. I used /unstuck once when I was not stuck just to see what happens. Guess what? Nothing happens.

 

Also please stop saying we are beta testers. It implies that eventually the game will come out of beta.

 

I have in the past written lengthy bug reports when using /unstuck but I have become stuck in corpus ceilings (when reviving) so many times now that it has become an annoyance over the many months since I first reported it.

There's a prompt to rejoin your group after relogged..

 

Also the Recently played with List. Ive used it on occasion where a Bug has forced us to abort the mission (Locked Doors and Random Bits of Terrain Blocking the way most recently) to find the people i was with.

for removing the "political or a55ki55ing meanings" in the former postings which comes a usual in a forum and game like this like in real life: =)

tell your team that you have to restart and they can wait then and reinvite you

 

to be clear with playing as a team without the "team- or invitation"-restriction your whole team can use simple clear and easy and friendly communication

 

the interruption will be a maximum of 5 mins, right ?

I have offered suggestions of better ways this can be accomplished. The information needed can be gathered either at the end of a players play session or through an in game prompt or even have the dialogue box popup above the game window without having to close down the game. Any of these methods would be more productive and more professional and a more immersive experience than shutting down the game and potentially losing your place in a group or missing a deadline for an alert.

Except those methods wont work because WF needs to be shut down in order for all the information to be logged and sent properly.

Seriously, do you actually think DE does it in an inefficient way just to rustle your jimmes?

Beta is a poor excuse at this point in time.

Edit: Read it wrong. Still dont see an issue with it. Big deal 5 minutes to relog, fill out a little bug report to HELP YOUR GAMING EXPERIENCE WITH THE GAME and then log back on and just get reinvited/ reinvite the ppl from your squad. Dont be so hella spoiled people x.x

To be honest, I myself am not sure how you would exploit this.

 

But honestly. mistakes are made in games like these and there really is only one way to find these kinds of mistakes, and that's through players like us. It's not like DE has a magical scanner that sweeps through whole tilesets and detects these potential sticking places. Well, that's not true: we're that magical scanner.

 

If you want to look on the bright side, back in the old days we had to just quit the mission or wait for the rest of the team to extract, which accounting for the squad being down a man and also the 1 minute wait at extraction is more or less waiting for things as well.

 

Sorry man, but beta or not, this isn't a perfect game, and it never will be.

Think about it this way then:

The more people who file that same bug which in turn helps the devs fix it, the less youll have to actually use Unstuck because that bug will be fixed.

Also it want you to logout immediately in order to get the latest EE log from that session, otherwise if you keep playing the devs have to sift through even more crap just to find the bug

It could be like it used to be, when you get stuck, you are just stuck, and no escape except to abort the mission, which removes you from your group.

 

This way, you get out, and a bug report is automatically filed so they can fix what caused the issue and it's less likely to happen again in the future.

 

So do you want map-clipping errors to never end or do you want to help DE and the community fix them?
