notHunky
Dumb question, but will Corpus shield gating prevent explosive weapons from one shotting them? It sounds like weak spots and headshots are going to be the only way to bypass their shields with raw damage, and I don't know if explosive weapons will consistently hit those spots. It would be stupid for a level 5 corpus crewman to survive a fully forma'd Ogris just because the explosion AOE didn't hit their weak spot. (PSN)Darkrya
The blast can hit their helmets off, so yeah I believe they can bleed over, especially if the projectile hits at head level (correct me if im wrong) Edited March 1, 2020 by (PS4)Darkrya
Loza03
Well, the level five enemies aren't going to survive because there's about 5% bleedover into health during the shield-gate phase, which means weak Corpus aren't going to fare much better than weak Grineer. But, yes, I imagine explosive, and other AoE weapons like chaining beams will be less effective against Corpus due to being ineffective at hitting weak spots. But, at the end of the day, that's not really a bad thing. I mean, that pretty much achieves what DE wanted. Right now, if somethings good against Grineer, it's good against everything. The idea is that different factions are vulnerable to different things, like how in Halo you wouldn't use the same strategies or weapons with the Flood as with the Covenant, or even with Grunts and Elites. it makes diversity more important, since a toolbox isn't necessary when all you do is change light bulbs. It's like how people say that Melee 2.0 had more build diversity, despite all the builds basically coming down to the same 'spam E and build combo' playstyle. Melee 3.0 reduces the number of viable builds quite significantly, yes (which does suck, especially for status weapons) but at least most of them make for different gameplay, heavy attack focus vs light attack focus, for example. Miser_able
They said 5% of your weapons damage will bleed through and ignore the shield gating.
Diangelius
Shield gating is super effective on those with massive Health pool, such as Corpus Tech, Comba, Scrambus, or on those with Alloy armor like Bursa, Raptor. If the invulnerability state lasted for like, 1 second, it could make the high level Corpus pretty tough, maybe even tougher than the Grineers with same level. But, in order to more precisely judge whether that 5% dmg could one hit kill most Corpus or not, we need to wait till the new Health-Armor-Shield scaling is implemented, and further practical test. Maybe Toxin mods all the way on explosive weapons. Edit: would be great as fook if Magnetic could disable the shield gating. Baterial
Corpus? just gas them when Sheldgating hits the game Gas will just bypass sheilds and not trigger eny mechanics Edited March 1, 2020 by Baterial
(XBOX)Ravenmore1
Try magnetic/gas build on explosive weapons. It works great for my Kuva ogris right now for corpus enemies. So it should work pretty well when the shield gating gets implemented.
