This update will likely have the usual hotfixes that a wednesday update has. It's unlikely that it will simply be "Here's your Gorgon and badges, enjoy the rest of the week". Yes, that means you can no longer get the rewards past that time. the rewards will still be distributed later, probably after or nearer to update drop time.
