How Do You Work In An Infested Defense?

Since at about wave 15 you get about 4 or 5 ancient disruptors casting their aura across the map, what works these days?

I'd like to get past wave 15, buuut I guess claim and exit is the way to go for now. Just not equipped for the job anymore.

I tell Vauban to use 2 vortexes instead of 1. Usually does the trick.

Prioritize the Ancients then kill off everything else.

Those too, but you have enough ancients in one area that all enemies get the 3 different aura buffs. Plus throw in a couple eximus. I haven't done an infested defense often since the new changes, so I'm in the dark on this one.

Exactly! Hence I claim and exit.

I don't work during Infested defences. My Vortexes, Megatesla and Fast Nova do the job for me.

My Vauban brings all the infested to the yard at which point they're slowly crushed to death within the event horizon of my superior gadgetry.

If your aim is dodgy, explosive weapons can take Ancients out regardless of their aura if you hit.

My level 13 Angstrum continued to instantly kill the Ancients 'till about wave twenty-five.

yeah the immunities are a bit too harsh right now, I did a video about the immunities and how they should work not too long ago (check the spoiler below). Right now the best I can say is to avoid single element weapons and dump it all into core damage types. As much as I love gimmicky status weapons that have all the options in the world, they just don't work against the infested, which is a damned shame.

Going for Ancients first then everyone else works. If Vauban, then Vortex. If Valk, then Galatine. Those strategies never fail me.

Most op enemies are Volatile Runners. You kill them, they will explode and deal damage(except if you melee them), kill them with Ogris/Penta they do a Lot more damage and the pod will be destroyed in less than 5th wave.

They just come in huge swarms at 15, which get unforgiving if you mess up once :/

If you can't kill them try to separate them from each other by ragdollin' or stun-lock with:

Banshee's CC-abilities or just Sonar them and 1-shot,

Chaos or Mind Control,

Vortex or two-three Bastillies,

Well of Life / Energy Vampire or its Combo [WoL+EV] with Viral proc and good bleeding - they die very quick,

Nova's ult,

Pull,

Tornado with Viral

 

or distract them with Molt / Decoy.

 

 

I really love their changes it makes you think and use teamplay.
