Valafor
A better question is why do the railguns havr travel time? Today's railguns are already capable of shooting up to speeds of mach 5. Most firearms shoot bullets at mach 1 but sometimes even just past mach 3. So if a railgun today could shoot so fast that if you blinked you would miss it, why is it that in the future of warframe, you could even see the projectile to begin with? 321agemo
Because it don't? We're not hearing the actual sound, our brain is. The warframe suit is a fusion of metal and organic matter. More likely or not, when we “see” something, the suit sends electrical signal to our brain telling us that sound should be accompanied by it. By having it instantenous, it avoids the user from feeling disoriented. And im not making this completely up. Equip a mod that makes weapon silence. Notice how the weapon still sounds the same, yet enemies suddenly can't hear it. Our sight is trying to compensate for our lack of true hearing. Theres even more evidence. When we get mag proc, notice how our weapons sound gets muffed, even though it should theoretically sounds the same as the distance between the gun and ourselves haven't change at all. We are a visual being that are trying to compensate for our lack of hearing. Or space magic. A better question is why do the railguns havr travel time? Muminidas
I would actualy like that touch of realism :D Sometimes, "touch of realism" may be bad for specific universe, especially if it's sci-fi universe.
Trylobyte
Lotus always has an audio connection to us. So in reality, the 'sounds' you hear are just Lotus making noises with her mouth. She -was- a champion beatboxer in the Orokin days after all.
Solandis
Because acceptable breaks from reality. Also it saves on programming. *shrug*
Noble_One
Yeah, why should we learn something when playing a video game? there is a time and place for that..... this is not it.

4G3NT_0R4NG3
Well, we can angle a sword and spin our bodies in such a way that generates lift and allows us to achieve temporary flight. The laws of physics bow down beneath us mighty Tenno. Edited June 15, 2015 by 4G3NT_0R4NG3
rockscl
tbh i expected archwing to have no more sounds than the direct impacts on the player´s warframe and warning sounds from the warframe too indicating proximity to enemies, rockets, laser lockons on myself, i felt rather disappointed to have a lucas arts sound in space
Gelkor
Headcanon: The sound is simulated for the user. (Shattered Horizon does the same thing) This. I've seen this handwaved in a few other stories/games in the sci-fi genre: "Pilots have trouble comprehending the silence of space, and the implementation of surround sound in their cockpit helps them mentally, as well as provides another method for feedback and response on the pilot's part." IE: Sound in space is simulated by your systems as a way to utilize your sense of hearing as another input method.
(PSN)DesecratedFlame
Sound is being broadcast to everyone, including 10-o headsets, via lightwave-based technology. The explosions make sound because the ships' interiors, where the broadcasting equipment is housed, are filled with air.

Chaosyn
Everyone seems to forget that Mag has actual headphones on one of her Alt Helms.... Maybe everyone else just has earbuds, and she just went old school... Or,ya know, that whole " A game with that much silence would suck." thing...
