Alabaster Skin Challenge

So since DE hasn't re released the old Alabaster Excal skin from back in the day, anyone up for trying to remake it for Steam in the workshop?

i'm not sure, to me it looks unfinished...

 

perhaps they removed it because they were considering giving alabaster skins to all the prime warframes (kind of like the immortal skins for normal warframes) but gave up.

 

while i would like to see more skins in warframe this one to me seems incomplete (lacking coloring, details, ect)

Hey, even if one is made, doesn't mean DE will accept it. And if they didn't keep their own skin in-game, I don't see why they'd accept a third party's.

It be interesting to see a skin for excalibur prime that inst just prue gold, but something that adds decorations around the body via textures and shading.

 

But first, they need to give him a PBR treatment.

ah... that would explain it...

 

i mean it does kind of look like a golden marble texture, more statue like than anything else.

 

but if we did get unique skins for the prime warframes that would be cool as well.

The Alabaster Skin was used to make the Excalibur Prime statue in the Orokin Derelict Vaults.  That was it's sole purpose that we know of.

 

It's not a Warframe skin...but it would be cool.

this is what i understood it as too. the skin was intended for the statue but was accidentally accessible as a skin for the players. its pretty similar to how there is a giant stone statue of tyl regor in his boss room but in early dev streams about his remake you can see that the statue still has his original skin.

Just add a bit of finishing touches like trim and other stuff so it won't look as "placeholder" as it did. The swirly marble texture is fine, the whole thing being one texture is not.

I wouldn't think so. Something that captures that smooth polished stone finish on portions of his Armor, and not just a all over texture fill.

it looks like he's made of lemon pie, make it higher res and maybe a few more details to the contours of the body, and then i'm sold.

At a time when we didn't have premium skins and the like, a full material change was neat looking. Nothing more, really.

Thank you. I'll revisit it once I complete my gorgon and mag skin. Need to get out a weapon skin in time before they start picking the first round of submissions, but I like the idea of some kind of primitive looking "Orokin Marble" skins.
