Hypernaut1
Gameplay of course. Sure, give context to what I'm doing, but if i had to choose between a 2 hr quest or tons of content- i want content. I love that they focused on cinematic quest this year, but i hope next year isn't a repeat. Next year i want more updates, tweaks and content. Gameplay, content, context, lore. Schregger
Cant really say which I feel is more important, but from what I can see, gameplay is seemingly the more important of the two. That is to say, because this game is "still in development" its lore isnt set in stone.
TotallyLagging
Definitely gameplay for me. Lore is there to keep me interested when the gameplay fails to do so.
AuroraSonicBoom
It's a game first, and if a mechanic can be significantly improved at the cost of retconning some lore, so be it. That said, lore can also heavily inspire game mechanics, so designing mechanics based on it can lead to a really satisfying synergy between the two. Lore makes you care more about the world you play in, the mechanics make it fun. Both are useful in their own right.
Toppien
Lore gameplay is good enough for me already (except archwing, that needs serious improvement)
(XBOX)ashes of suvius
if I had to choose it would be lore. Gameplay is def important, but I feel like thats, a) something that has to constantly change to keep interest, and b) is strengthened by lore, where as lore makes the world deeper, more interesting, more involving and more rememberable. I also think that the game used to have more in depth lore in some ways, (look at excals/mags/ any other early frames lore filled codex, then look at ivaras one liner about how she's a stealth frame) I feel like they very heavily focused on gameplay for awhile, which was good, but now its lore time (not that they'll stop working on gameplay but they let lore go for awhile n its time to catch up to the gameplay) i do agree that they have great ideas and decent writers, but they let them go underutilized for awhile imo. (PSN)Impyriel
Content = Lore + Gameplay. Content is what drives both and both are critical and not mutually exclusive. With this game they have a wealth of gameplay elements and consistently expand on them where as the Lore aspect is a bit on the skimpy side of things. Albeit the lore has been frequent as of late, there needs to be more of it. I would like to see episodic content pushed more.
Nemsi
Until U18 I would say definitely lore. The game has been severely lacking in this area ever sinice. But now that Im supposed to be crippled emo kid, I really dont care about lore anymore. Go gameplay.
(PSN)PillarOfWar
Gameplay and the visual style are what keep me playing Warframe. I actually dislike most of the lore since about the time we got Ordis.

Plushy
Lore and gameplay go hand in hand together so it really isn't a fair question. Its making people choose a side when they don't need to.

NightElve
Lore is what i'm intrigued most of a game as an RPG fan ( Skyrim, Mass Effect), i'm not much of a fan/i don't find fun in Call Of Duty/Black OPS, but Warframe is quite unique that it blends all/to suit both parties, this game is just too awesome! i'm still waiting for the day to have a comic book series on Warframe, if Warframe ever gets fully fleshed out, it can be a serious contender of my most favorite game Mass Effect Series. Aimop95
The gameplay got me into Warframe and will probably keep me here. The lore is just the icing on the cake.
CTanGod
Lore and story should give context and reason while gameplay should carry the game. I mean you don't play Tetris because it has deep lore and complex story. As one man once put it: "Story in video games is like story in porn movies: it's nice to have but not essential." Unus
Story is what keeps me going in Warframe. In a normal title, there's a beginning, a middle, and an end, and that's that. Sure, there might be different ways to get to said ending, but, ultimately, everything is leading down to something finite. Warframe, however, is something different. It's story moves along almost "endlessly" and in a fascinatingly organic manner where community and developer alike have made their own marks (and continue to do so) upon the game, from the illustrious Clem to the War against Hunhow. All of this at a "pay-how-you-feel" price (I still gotta pull out my fifty bucks in order to officially "buy" Warframe) and I have been sold ever since. Gameplay can always become repetitive eventually. But, to become a part of a community, traveling along with a saga that has a nigh indeterminable end? That can last a lifetime. Just look at those game communities that still exist, spinning tales using the story they had been given, long after the game has ceased and you can see this in action. That is not to say that gameplay is meaningless. rather, that gameplay is merely the right bait required to reel in the big fish that is the consumer, with the community fish hook and lore fishing line being the workhorse in the relationship. Alotta games can get away with bad bait, a tiny hook, but a powerful line to pull in "small fry" and any other combination of those parts thereof, but, the quality community hook/developing story combo has been the one with the most staying power as far as I've seen Goddem it! Blasted thought provoking topics makeing me word splurge everywhere! I hope your happy Original Poster!
