Odd / non meta builds

As title said, with tww contents pretty much all done at this point (console still hasn't got glast gambit, so..yeah)

 

i've been kinda exploring non meta builds. Some i've found real fun is tempest barrage hydroid (everyone did the flop); another one would be toxic lash saryn with the redeemer which covers the map with farts. Also psychic bolt nyx was like oberon, but better.

 

What kinda builds would be worth trying?

I've just discovered the joys of Chroma + Zenistar. Pop Vex, self-harm yourself for the damage boost, toss the disc over the cryopod (Primed Reach is a must) and watch the infested murder themselves running into it.

High status Blast/Impact weapons.

Modding a frame specifically only for his first ability is usually really fun. For example,

Dash Dash Excalibur,

Soul punching Nekros,

Electric Bungalow Vauban,

Zip Valkyr, etc.

Don't forget to slam Natural Talent to max spam.

Blinding Mesa, shooting gallery aug and run high efficiency, high range, low duration, str doesn't matter.

Prolonged Paralysis build on Valkyr. All in range, a little strength, enjoy your finishers

Can confirm this build is a blast to run. Its been a favorite of mine for quite a while.

Speaking of finisher based builds, a max range Equinox with the Calm & Frenzy augment is also a lot of fun to use, if only to watch a whole squad of enemies suddenly take an impromptu nap. :P

Can confirm, i made a tesla coil out of a cryopod with vauban

Tank Limbo is "fun" though tbh it is probably the optimal way to play him right now.

Melee Zephyr is also pretty great.

Zephyr with high-range Turbulence becomes a tank that can shield others, great for Sortie Defense.

Actually, Sonicor is ridiculously fun for high status Blast/Impact.

Rhino: The World. Build for range and duration and basically stop time in a huge radius with stomp. Add throwing secondary and fist melee weapons for flavor.

Min range Savage Silence Banshee. Run around like an idiot and kill enemies before they can kill you.

Since I don't see it often. Melee/Stomp Rhino where you build him for duration+eff and range.

I always thought it was Banshee who filled that role. Oh well, i don't keep up with the meta anyway.

Yeah, with enough status you reliably send enemies airborne. Like straight up. It's actually my goto sortie sidearm with blast because nothing is ever 2-feet on the ground :3

I thought stomp rhino was meta as well. I can solo t3 interceptions with it...

I just press the randomize button and deal with whatever horrible non-potato weapons I get.

I ran a high level defense with a Saryn Prime the other day who stacked so much damage on their molt that I couldn't come close to their numbers. Everything died long before it came near the cryopod. I'm going to have to revisit mine.
