Best meele build ( IMO ) for warframe. ( Endgame - ish. )

First off i personally, do not know if this is currently known by other people i have looked for such a build and i cannot seem to find anything like it.

so that's why i wasted 3 hours doing this, anyway.

I also take credit for this kind build if it becomes popular :).    ( interpret this as you may. )

BEFORE I START THE MAIN DESCRIPTION I AM AWARE OF STATUS/CONDITION OVERLOAD BUILDS, THIS GETS RID OF THE ANNOYING SLOW ATTACK SPEED AND SLOW START ( Relatively ).

I DO NOT USE MAIMING STRIKE, IT IS A RARE AND EXPENSIVE MOD, AND IT TAKES THE FUN OUT OF USING MELEE.

So, as an avid user of melee weapons in warframe, I've always wanted to make my melee my main weapon and as you know melee haven't been the best. They never have been able to really match the DPS of any secondary or primary.

With the introduction of Blood Rush, That was changed for the most part and it really made melee viable to a certain extent.

I have taken some of my time to make a post with stats that will hopefully show you a build that is both, very strong and comfortable to use.

TEST INFO-

( ALL BUILDS WILL BE TESTED WITH A 100 CORRUPTED HEAVY GUNNER WITH NO STEEL CHARGE, WARFRAME ABILITIES OR ARCANE(S) SO TESTS AREN'T SUSCEPTIBLE TO FLUCTUATIONS IN KILL TIME/HITS )

TIMER IS STARTED AS SOON AS THE ENEMY IS HIT

WEAPON- GALATINE PRIME DUE TO 20% STATUS AND 20% CRIT BALANCE

STANCE- TEMPO ROYALE, ONLY SPAMMING THE BUTTON MASH COMBO, ( only pressing the meele button. )

BLOOD RUSH WAS RANK 8 SO DAMAGE COULD BE HIGHER

A basic Blood Rush Build for example would be as follows;

CRIT

I  Berserker  I  Pressure point  I  Organ Shatter  I  True steel  I

I  Fury  I  Blood rush  I  Life Strike  I  Body Count  I

Results-

Counter; ~63 hits

Time to kill; ~22 secs

Not awful, but seems a little annoying to wail on the same enemy. for an average of 20 seconds dealing little damage to use Life Strike to its potential.

Naturally, people would now drift towards a crit/status hybrid build for more DPS to help with scaling armor.

Crit/Status hybrid; HYBRID

I  Berserker  I  Pressure point  I  Virulent scourge  I  Voltaic strike  I

I  Fury  I  Blood rush  I  Life Strike  I  Body Count  I

Results-

Counter; 50~ hits

Time to kill; 17~ seconds

Much better, now that armor is strippable and that damage can start seeping through.

Now we come to my personal build. And you might be like boyy what are you doin. but shh. trust me.

OVERCRIT

I  Berserker  I  Pressure point  I  Voltaic strike  I  Virulent Scourge  I

I Condition Overload I  Blood rush  I  Life Strike  I  Fury  I

Results.

Counter; ~30

Time To kill; ~10 seconds

As you can see my build is more efficient at killing, as well as the damage numbers are higher, therefore making life strike more viable and effective.

Now, that's solo testing, now onto group testing!

Groups will consist of 4 level 100 Corrupted Heavy bombards, and 4 level 100 Corrupted heavy gunners. Now, i choose these specific targets, because if it can kill these, it can kill pretty much anything else, MUCH, MUCH faster. THE BASIC BUTTON MASH COMBO WILL BE USED FOR THIS TEST.

Enemies were also allowed to separate to simulate a more realistic environment where enemies aren't right next to each other.

Each test will be done 3 times each and the time will be listed for each.

Test 1, CRIT BUILD.

Results

Counter; 316 //// 290 //// 310

Time to kill; 2m 5s //// 1m 50s //// 1m 58s

A trend i saw doing this was, i was doing no damage with hits themselves, but the slash procs were the only thing doing any real damage.

Test 2, HYBRID BUILD.

Counter; 249 //// 241 //// 262

Time to kill; 1m 40s //// 1m 35s //// 1m 42s

This took a lot more than 3 times each, the bombards kept being cheeky and knocking each other over opening up for ground finishers, which i excluded those attempts due to ground finisher DPS.

Test 3, OVERCRIT. (counter doesn't exist in this test, only time due to the lack of body count.)

Time to kill; 1m 9s //// 53s //// 1m 1s ////

So, as you can see, overall the overcrit build was the most effective against them, and i personally think i came up with a build that is not only the most effective, but also the best feeling build.

Overview for Overcrit Build

Pros!

-High scaling dps

-Allows for better usage of life strike due to large crits

-You don't have to rely on combo counter for DPS and/or wait for it to build up to do good dps.

-Comfortable attack speed with berserker (depending on the weapon you use this on, you don't need fury.)

Cons!

It will only apply to weapons with Decent critical AND status chance, so you're relatively limited on your options.

You may need forma to use this build, For my exact mods, you need at least 1 V polarity and a matching stance mod.

Advice on how to use the build and what weapons that i recommend! Also other weapon tests.

The build will always consist of both condition overload and Blood rush simultaneously.

I'd recommend using at least two elements, I've experimented with using viral with slash weapons and it does some really really good damage, but usually your best bet will just be corrosive. also i tend to use a dual stat and a normal elemental for damage.

Weapons with 15% crit and 25% Status or higher seem to work the best, 10% crit weapons work.

Also i always use life strike no matter what, you don't have to for more DPS

I'd recommend using stances that have multi hit combos and procs, as they'll give you a higher and faster chance of proc'ing status which will multiply damage.

Silva & Aegis Final Harbinger

TTK against 100 Corr Heavy Gunner ; 6.31s

Mios Defiled Snapdragon block combo used

TTK against 100 Corr Heavy Gunner ; 3.95s

Venka Prime Vermillion Storm

TTK against 100 Corr Heavy Gunner ; 7.23s

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mios, specifically is just silly with this build.

I  Shocking Touch I  Virulent Scourge  I  Pressure Point I  Berserker  I

I  Life Strike  I  Vicious Frost  I  Condition Overload  I  Blood Rush  I

Souhhh uhm. i'm done now. i spent like 4 hours on this. relpy or whatever if you want. i just wanted to bring this (kind of build) to light. there's gonna be mistakes in this, don't point them out and be mean to me. ( i lied i like constructive criticism )

If you have any questions ill be watching this thread for the most part and i'm willing to answer you :)

Maiming strike ruins fun.

I tend to use slash-heavy status weapons with just enough crit (15%), then use

Blood Rush | Berserker | Weeping Wounds | Relentless Combination
Primed Pressure Point | Primed Fury | Primed Reach | Drifting Contact

after just a short ramp up, it ignores armor and shield, applying slash procs with most hits and having a 3-4x multiplier almost all the time.

This build is especially good for weapons that can force slash procs with their stance.

Ctrl-F didn't find any Maiming Strike, you should expand your testing with that.

Maiming strike isn't everything, it doesn't deal with armor.

Also a lot of people don't have access to maiming strike, brush and CO are much more accessible.

Well the title pretty clearly says "Best melee build" - you can't really do that without Maiming Strike :clem:

You do know that an atterax will prove superior than most of the weapons you mentioned just because it has this huge range? And that's even without maiming strike.

DPS is fine and all but range + Stat/crit > damage + Stat/crit. And this snowballs:

More enemies = more counter = more procs

Don't get me wrong, I love my galatine prime but once I know that there are lots of enemies I use the atterax because it's much more convenient

Actually with simply Condition Overload or Blood Rush any melee can be viable even in end game except a few. Mods like Maiming Strike or Rivens just make melee OP. You can still live a good life without them. Personally I never use Maiming Strike or Rivens because I use Excalibur a lot and their stats don't carry over to EB. Besides I despise MS coz it kills all the fun for others and it's a waste of your melee weapon combo.
