Why is this bounty a thing?

I'm mostly a solo player. I don't usually like grouping. Throwing that as a quick side note, since this is rather trivial with a couple more people. But I find it's more efficient for me to farm bounties solo, so I don't pub for them.

Why in the world is the "find 3 caches" bounty a thing? I mean, does anyone actually find it to be fun and engaging? To me, it's the single stupidest thing in the game. You run around in a giant circle looking for these little caches while trying to ignore the enemies shooting at you because killing them just wastes time, just for the last one to end up being in a cave underground somewhere and you run out of time because you didn't think to check underground. I mean, it isn't inherently difficult, other than the stupid cache they tend to hide in a cave full of enemies that are put there to waste your time because if you try to ignore them all they'll pummel you (especially in higher level bounties). I just don't see the engagement. Control the point is fun, finding the enemies to kill them and failing if you get overrun, defense is fun, capturing a target is fun, hell even the escort missions are usually fun. But finding caches isn't. It makes me feel like a jackass as I frantically run around looking for them. No mission type outside of the plains has finding caches as a main goal, so why would this? I'm curious to other people's feedback, and to see if other people actually like this bounty type. To reiterate, I understand having a full party of people can make this bounty type completely trivial, but I shouldn't ever feel like I should be forced to play with other people if I don't want to. I fail this bounty more than any other, mostly out of frustration. I play Warframe to mow down armies of enemies with my badass space ninja, to meet new people, and to grind and get cool new gear and keep progressing my collection even further. I don't, however, play Warframe to run around a big circle playing hide and go seek with in-animate objects.

To be honest, I think many people have this feeling towards all bounty missions. In my opinion, the bounty missions are just too trivial to be fun or engaging. (I also solo them all)

I like the three cache one, because it takes about a minute to do. Unlike the others. I can see where you are coming from though.

It's trivial with no other players. There are mods that make it exceedingly easy, mods that are useful outside the Bounty, even.

It's like 49% of the goal of Void Sabotage, and those are routinely in places that you don't normally go and you'd have no clue they were there without some degree of Loot Radar.

I actually like the caches.  I like treasure hunts.  The one I don't like is maintaining control of the camp as it's too easy for the Grineer to win by hiding.  I guess in a way that's similar to the cache hunt and both can be eased with a radar but the cache hunt gives a fair amount of time for each and only needs three to be found whereas the control mission requires constantly tracking down enemies to regain control that you somehow rapidly lose even when no enemies are in sight.

Want to find them? Use Loot Radar! It's the simpliest thing you can do when it comes to finding those caches.

Plains aren't that hard, you can sacrifice one mod slot for Loot Radar just fine. It's not cool but it's helpful and that's why we have such mods.

Sorry but it's easy even in Solo, so easy that failing to do such trivial task is not just funny, but also shameless.

I don't hate those ones but I don't find them particularly engaging. The only good thing about them is that I almost never fail them(I haven't any cave spawns though) and usually can complete those quite fast with very little risk of failure regardless of enemy level or loadout used. As grineer do not spawn around the objectives unless it happen to be close to a grineer camp, it's one of the easiest objectives to complete. But I do agree with the OP that this objective can be quite boring and is further trivialised by loot radar.

Another tip, since I'm not sure if people know, but they get highlighted by your scanner. This one has been more useful than loot radars.

Out of all the bounties, it is probably the most variable in difficulty. I've had search areas over twice as large as others, with some attempts having cave spawns and others spawning at points that are incredibly high up on buildings or structures, both of which make the loot radar tip useless since loot radar wouldn't catch things that are too high or low. Other times you have 2 spawn nearly next to each other.

I think they could at least make it a little more, I dunno, consistent like the other bounties.

I like caches because they're super short if you ya know, invest in some loot radar

You don't even need loot radar. Their position isn't truly random, so looking at the area you got you can pretty much guess where they will be.

Personally, I like it. For one, they are short and often easy. Second, I like to look around for stuff in general.

Try that with the  Synthesis Scanner and Codex entry incomplete during certain times of the day. Orange on Orange.

I fail this every. Single. Time.

I don't even hear the glow sound as all others around are too loud!!

I actually have an easier time finding them at nighttime, since they stand out more with the "dark" backround than the orange on orange one during the day. But even with loot radar and similar tricks, I find it tedious and annoying. Like I briefly mentioned, I like murdering things in Warframe, and being given different reasons to murder everything.

Some bounties, especially when doing the higher level ones, can be at least engaging enough to hold my attention for an hour or so. To be honest, I never did them until the unvaulting and only started playing plains content because I wanted Loki and Glaive prime. Eidolon hunting seems cool, but I honestly don't want to bother getting a better amp and all that jazz. To me, plains is visually stunning, but the gameplay is horribly lacking (when fishing is more fun than the missions they send you out to the plains on, you know something wasn't done right, in my opinion.)

But to the topic at hand, it's honestly that specific bounty which annoys me. Even with loot radar, there's tons of other lootable crap that's sprinkled around. I know the circle the perimeter, shortening the radius each time, but it's hard to keep an eye out for the dumb things when you're falling asleep from boredom. Also, like I said, I get even more frustrated when I find out one was actually in a cave the entire time (I have had this happen to me multiple times). Anyways, thanks for everyone's opinions. I haven't tried using scanners, but I usually just go do something else if the specific thing I'm farming for requires one of those find the cache missions and I don't have any friends on. I still hate it.

I made myself a second Nova, just with Lootradar mods, a litte survival mods and the usual Ability mods. Even then I don't do "search 3 caches". I completely ignore it as an incursion and do fishing until it satisfyingly expires.

I even did an public bounty, where the 3 caches appeared, cause more ppl, faster finding. No. It didn't. We were 3 people and time ran out. The 4th one left at the 30 sec mark. It's that bad. During nighttime, okay, but the night has BETTER THINGS then Bounties. Like... Teralyst, Night only fishes, Vomvalysts...

Today i was catching 200 fishes in one run, 2 mandatory wisps included. This gave me more Ostron Rep then a bounty. Why do a bounty for 25 minutes rewarded with 1k , if you can get 50 fish in less time, rewarding 3k. Trust me, after 2 hours fishing you know how to throw that thing with his quirks and strange hitboxes on fishes (Khut-Khut, Yogwan) . Or how to use lures. Catching 8 fish or more in a minute, EZ. I can even get 3 in less than 10 secs. Even my GF was like : "okaaaay, fishing is your thing, if I could enter the plains" (She can't enter plains, as the game crashes "not enough Graphics Memory")

TL;DR: Cache bounty is bad. Have us at least have one or two of three to succeed the mission. Not. All. Three. They dont drop anything useful anyway. Put Gara parts in there and I play.

I already have Gara, so I wouldn't play it either way. I usually abandon mission, unless it happens to be night-time. Like I said, I'm only doing the bounties for the unvaulted relics, I don't particularly like the plains other than that (I don't teralyst hunt because I honestly don't want to invest the resources into being properly equipped for it.)
