  1. Just another casualty of Overguard Eximus. Volt would be having a bad day too if he couldn't pick up his shield and use capacitance to spoof Shield Gating. Arch Nemisis, I mean Eximus dropping ground AoE inside his Snow Globe doesn't help either. When Gara came out she was about to replace Frost but DE kill her wall then I recall the oev team saying they were also going to remove the 4s invulnerability from Snow Globe for similar reasons but they never did. Protection frames no longer have to protect their team, only objectives which puts them in the corner of Defense and Excavation for value. I feel you can change Frost all you want but those two factors are going to keep him from ever being good as he was. I mean teams used to request Frost for missions. @Venus-Venera Technically still nothing beats Snow Globe if Frost is willing to go old school and cast it every 4 seconds.
  2. Oh, back then that was way better than Soma Prime could do in 2019. I mentioned that as a comparative state of power creep. EDIT: I was showing a video example of what you were talking about with primed mods, arcanes, etc.
  3. Prime weapons have gone through phases over the years. Originally they were only slight upgrades then they went crazy around the Galantine Prime, Gram Prime era now they're back to slight upgrades. SP Enemy Density and the new status system also plays a part in limiting the value of weapons in general. OG Fulmin being pure Electric could full strip armor pretty fast with old Corrosive. Normal Strun at 100% status was a monster on it's own. This is part of my Archgun testing when they first came out. It's not "bad" by any means. It actually stripped too well.
  4. Cuz this... She's durable. good DPS, decent status at 30% with insane fire rate. She fits right into the typical forced Warframe "meta". She used to actually require aiming at higher levels when enemies were more durable but that's not a thing anymore.
  5. Adaptation on Protea seems like a wasted slot. I would try not to use Molt Efficiency if possible. It's point value isn't great. Molt Augment is worth it. Molt Efficiency is just two Tau Duration Shards while many Arcanes can produce far stronger results. I personally use energize. I have 3 Helmith over Dispensary. Gloom, Breech Surge and Quorvex rad towers. Personally I push Duration more than Range on her. Less Grenade upkeep. More cannon uptime and less nausea. Her entire kit is designed to make you not want to invest in duration but it's kinda worth it IMO.
  6. Used to do endurance runs 3+ hours solo. It was just what I did to entertain myself. It was long before SP though which I personally find repulsive. The enemy density is just dumb IMO. Infested hook eagle-eye is when every Infested Ancient would throw their hook at you the moment they saw you and often. It was much faster in projectile speed and hardly missed. If you had 8 of those on you, esp on separate sides then you chance of dodging them was slim. This was after they increased their spawn frequency. Ancients used to knock you down with melee so I got used to drop kicking them to the ground which is still in the game BTW. No one does it though. I hate self stagger from AoE. I don't know any shooters where AoE weapons don't hurt the user if misused. I've played mostly brawler frames since I came back. 150-200k eHP weapon platforms that don't care if they get staggered.
  7. Player's just build Volt weird. My Volt is 205% Duration, 235% Range, 45% Efficiency, 139% Power with Molt Augmented. 200%+ in every stat that matters. Honestly, only thing I use Speed for is the reload most the time. Reliability on his shields, CC Range, esp with Capacitance are more important.
  8. Meanwhile my Primed Sure Footed has never been ranked. I just dodge. Handspring on the other hand can be useful or it was when DE went ham on Infested eagle-eye hooks. I run neither now. They should probably just make Steel Path sensible so thoughtful maneuvers like dodge still work. If Warframe and Path of Exile have taught me anything over 11 years, it's that Enemy Density is the best route to brain dead play.
  9. Wording goof on my part. I meant get rid of the weapon stagger which didn't before and have suffered as result. Zakti is a pinnacle example. Self damage was fine. The only time it bothered me was when someone walked in front of you and they can just revive you anyways. It's not like Solo where you screw up. It's your own fault and you suffer a revive from it. Both conditions are fair.
  10. Opticor is pretty lame since it now causes self stagger. Unless they get rid of some of the dumb weapons they added that to I'm not in.
  11. But she can also slow and reduce damage on 50% of enemies =/ The no more double energize ruined my Equinox build.
  12. Oh god... Not again. It's actually more boring that Relic runs and yet the forma sink these days is real. I hate it so much.
  13. You can still do that. My whole point was that Melee Duplicate created a massive gap in weapon performance simply based on if they can get ~100% Crit using Umbra Steel or not. I feel it was a really bad design choice. There are so many melee weapons. Many of which are already bad and they made the selection even more slim.
  14. You can still use heavy attacks if you want. Freely, without affecting your damage via Combo meter mods. It's just for some weapons there becomes a very notable difference in performance. Some melee like Nami Solo and Dual Ichors Incarnons even give you free combo duration to further extend their superiority over melee that can't get near 100% Crit without using Drifting + Blood Rush. You can run Naramon with Blood Rush if you want but you're reducing the base damage output of the weapon with each heavy attack. The weapons I mentioned don't have that issue.
  15. If a weapon can get near 100% Crit with Umbra Steel you save a mod slot by dropping Drifting and replacing it with Bane or Candis Mandible. The resulting per strike damage is more than double. If you like Heavy Attacks then by all means but Duplicate makes some melee far surpass others. Kinda not a fan or it.
  16. Base 10% x2 is Crit viable and generally better built as Crit. Esp for Secondaries. This is not considering head-crit multipliers. I'm not saying it's ideal stats. More that you build it for Crit regardless.
  17. I quickly had doubts about melee though when they added the directional slam attack which sent enemies flying 15m away on a 3m reach weapon. Thankfully they listened and fixed that but I guess they didn't realize why it was bad since they just added similar debilitating effects like lifted and staggered movement to stance combos. Crushing Ruin for hammers was fun. The fact you sent enemies flying was compensated by how much ground you covered. Tempo Royal was the lesser damage but higher mobility stance which now has neither. After a decade they managed to ruin Swirling Tiger by adding lifted for no reason. I prefer what they were starting to do with Carving Mantis. Left and Right combos. Not stationary or holding block. You can also tell many of these were designed with auto target in mind as they lung so quickly with such a small hitbox you can't actually realistically aim it by hand. IMO they also just recently deleted heavy attacks from the game with Melee Duplicate. I don't slot combo duration on valid weapons anymore.
  18. It kinda comes down to what a player feels is "fair" and the ratio at which CC / Protection has declined in value as result. eHP frame were easy to play but had hard limitations in scaling. Caster types, CC, Protection, Glass Cannons, etc could far exceed an eHP frame but they would enter the state of one mistake and dead. I always saw this as a fair trade. Obviously with the daily topics of Shield Gating back in the day, others didn't. I see Shield Gating as a mistake generally since it gives that that 2nd chance and sometimes with augments 3rd or 4th chances to make a mistake. It's what ultimately lead to Overguard IMO and the deficiency of ability performance. Now however. eHP + DPS has taken the fore front. My Rhino can still CC, get 200k Iron Skin and group buff for 3x damage (6x for DoTs). Everyone has their free mistake card also so I don't really need to protect players. I need to protect Defense and Excavation objectives which puts CC/Protection in a fairly small corner of play. EDIT: Oh I should also mention Shield Gating gave birth to true immortal frames like Rhino and Trinity. It's something DE fixed then tried to avoid for years.
  19. In a bit of irony Deep Arcamedia tends to cause leeching due to it's randomization. I go with a hard carry frame that doesn't care about weapons because I own every Arcane anyways. Vosfer is useless to me. Players who want that last Vosfer are stuck with whatever the game decides to give them which can drastically vary in performance. Players pretty much relying on others having decent picks. Peak Gameplay.
  20. Play Nyx without Assimilate like I did for 7 years. Let me know how you feel. Her rework was appalling to anyone who knew how to play Nyx. They removed her only defense against Nullifers being her Rad procs (same with Vauban). Then added some trash damage buff to Absorb which was a panic button only skill. They had obviously never played Nyx at any notable level and just tried to meta-fy her. Talking about using your brain. Nyx was a master of controlling the field. Unlike Loki she didn't have invisibility but she ranked the same value as a CC frame because her kit did everything and more. Rad Procs, Confusion, Disarm and Stuns. If you misjudged aggro radius with Nyx you died. If you didn't use Rad to occupy Nullifiers you died. If you didn't Stun AoE enemies like Napalms you probably die. This is Nyx in her purest form. Assimilate was a wasted mod slot if you played her well. Pre-rework Nyx and Vauban were among the two biggest brain required frames to play. You played perfectly or died. Now they have to gives these frame some "way out" augment because their kit is no longer reliable no matter how good you are.
  21. But removing CC and Protection like Snowglobe as viable options is so much worse. Dedicated CC frames like Loki/Nyx don't really have damage. It's their job to CC or they might as well not be there. It's why I hate how Overguard scales the way health should scale. Only CC / Protection frames are going to really notice the increase in Overguard levels while DPS frames won't. There's another topic on how Frost needs a rework but Frost is fine. It's the Thrax Centurion ignoring Frost Wave Impedance leaping into his globe and one-shotting an Excavator that's the problem. I don't even know how people play Limbo these days. With old Enemy Defense Scaling. You could CC but you still have to deal with the enemy. Only Mobile Defense and Interception can you afford to just let them sit there. Not to mention how easy it was to make a mistake and die instantly. I always found that to be a fair trade. eHP + DPS frames can get away with a lot until they just couldn't while "casters" could get away with much more but one mistake even lower levels and they die. I'm almost much against Shield Gating as I am Overguard. I say make abilities dependable and let the player die if they make a mistake. Deep Archimedea I already made fun of one rotation I had. Equinox, Nyx, Vauban and a mission with all Overguard. Good times.
  22. This is why my very first question on the first page of that post was asking if bonus modifiers were still going to double dip armor. If they do then it will never be worth fully stripping armor. It wasn't worth doing against Ferrite when Corrosive was 25% per proc and we ran 90% + 60/60 and it's still not generally worth it with 60/60x2 Corrosive + Heat. The enemy would need to stay alive a notable amount of time for the Heat DoT to catch up. I already run only a single Tau +3 Emerald to drop armor to 1%.
  23. DE has had a hate march going for CC since around 2015. That's the reason. They've had various reasons on why they hate CC with the most common being "Shutting down the AI" but the march goes on to this day. I protested Nullifiers forever due to their impact on game play at higher levels. They could one-shot anything before you dropped the bubble. The Story I Remember: It originally started because enemy damage scaling was exponential so in order for players to survive with their 8k eHP they would CC lock rooms. Instead of addressing this by reducing the area of those CC effects and reducing enemy scaling damage they went four fold by adding Nightmare / T4 damage multipliers. Then came the massive eHP gap in frames and it all just went off the rails over time. Now we have Overguard. You might notice they've rarely if ever made CC like Loki/Nyx since. Personally I don't see much difference between shutting down the AI and enemies dying in 1.5 seconds by going damage but that's me I guess.
  24. Yea. All the 1st ability Elemental Buffs and similar. They should be separate instances of damage. They used to have niche value for improving Corrosive / Gas proc weights but it's not needed anymore.
  25. Frost is fine though. Good even. Overguard is the problem. Ice Wave Impedance was my jam. Overguard just screws up all the protection frames. I keep Volt viable by using Quorvex Rad Pillars. Frost can't do that as well though because he's got less Ability Rage (usually) and can't pick up a shield to safely drop a pillar. They really need to make elemental buffs separate from weapon mods so they don't combine. Huge Improvement, esp to weapon Arcanes.
