  1. It kinda is mostly these forums. I don't see many complaints in other games about limited time skins and there's some I wish I'd gotten. I feel this is because the sale method is set in stone and no fabrication of FOMO is made (least for reputable developers). It is or it isn't. Warframe has never really been exclusive. If it didn't come back it would annoy myself who's had every limited time thing later given away. That's how Warframe works so I don't gripe. Things like Rift Sigil were bait for spending hours and hours in events at 0.1% drop chance only to be given away as an alert. Prime Chamber needs to explanation. Even things like Ephemera being super rare didn't last long. Players are just used to this. Esp long term players. Though plat is technically cash money. Actual $$$ has another elevation to it. Esp for veterans who swim in plat. I'm of both sides in this discussion. I don't mind FOMO skins and decorations much but that's never been how Warframe has worked.
  2. This is actually how Deluxe skins started. They were time limited advertised as exclusive. They did the same thing with Mesa Prime Access alt helm. You had to buy this if you wanted it. Now it's 1 Regal Aya. Nothing is exclusive in Warframe. It sometimes actually annoys me because I don't really mind exclusive skins. I played Path of Exile and Warframe for 11 years now and they wanted PoE cash money prices for those skins. Difference being PoE skins work on all characters and you can mix/match every piece. Despite all that though. I've never seen a legit plat/paid exclusive.
  3. In over a decade of playing, I can't think of a single thing beyond event badges/trophies/founder that were truly exclusive. I took a 5 year break last time and missed out on nothing at all. In fact most farms probably got easier. Even Rift Sigil wasn't safe.
  4. Ability Snapshot. That's really the only reason to use the Arcane regardless how much it gives IMO. I actually made a talent in a video game with similar interactions to Power Ramp. Elementalist - Each time you cast an offensive Fire, Earth, Air, Water or Poison spell gain +15% more damage and take 5% less damage from all elements. This bonus stacks up to five times but will reset if you cast the same element twice. Dual elemental spells will count as an element you have not yet cast if possible. The difference is the bonus is multiplicative and also grants some defense. There's also 20+ skills to choose from with different elements. Warframe has 4 skills with little strategy in their use order most the time so I doubt it'll ever be a worth while pick.
  5. Towards the end of my endurance runner days I just stopped using consumables entirely. The time investment was getting longer and longer so I just cut them out as a baseline. It was all about pushing the frame and weapon synergy anyways. Ancient healer used to be my #1 grab with Nyx Mind Control before Specters. Back then Eximus granted immunity to Toxic and Fire/Blast so those were nice.
  6. I hardly used Specters because it was too easily abused. Ciitrine + Trinity + Ancient Healer a 100k eHP becomes 60 million eHP which can eat up level cap hits easy. Back in the day we broke 1.4 billion. I used Saryn on a Gas Lanka Zephyr run once against old Corpus cuz it was free double damage from Viral and Zephyr couldn't die to Corpus.
  7. I don't think it's bullying. It's just lazy. Usage stats without context or dare I saw math isn't very useful. Esp in a game like Warframe where few players bother to do the math anymore. After all they nerf'd enemy defense scaling so there isn't really a reason to. Their obsession with usage % actually used to work in my favor. For instance. They buffed Torrid not once but twice before it's Incarnon form and it was never a bad weapon. It scaled like a monster. Riven Disposition was 5/5 too. I loved it. Normal Zarr was straight up better than Kuva Zar for scaling in the previous status system before they junked up the bomblet status rates. Sometimes I wonder if they stupefied the status and scaling systems so their usage stats would at least be remotely accurate to power.
  8. Warframe is P2W now? Man that term has really diluted itself. You really should see some veteran plat hoards. Cuz there's a big difference base on time periods you played. I've sold multiple Rivens for 7-9k gladly. Because plat is the ultimate equalizer since it's the premium currency. Before that I was selling my extra progress for 400-600p per maxed Mod and before that Event mods right before they went core. You don't actually have to spend a lot of time or money. Just know what's worth plat and be around at the right time. Yea, it's notably slower to make plat now. Sorta. I came back with 15 Soma Prime sets that were previously worthless. Overal DE has saturated the game with Endo and other progression based resources so players like myself can't sell it to others but there's still plat to be had. The only things I buy in Warframe is Tennogen and Prime Accessories because paying to skip content just means you hit that dead-end quicker. Seriously. I took a 5 year break and caught up in 6 weeks. MR 27 to 32. They've always been fairly poor with sustained content but it's gotten worse.
  9. Why would Rhino need a rework? He's consistently been good through the entire game's history. He's one of the immortal now thanks to Shield Gating and gives 3x group damage with some CC if needed.
  10. You're missing an entire layer which is what I was talking about. Synergy between a frame abilities and a weapon has always been a layer. The layer I mentioned was how to mod that weapon with the frame against the enemy against the level range of the enemy. There was just more to it before. Khora + Gas was a nice mix for certain situations. It would be even more fun with Angtrum bouncing. That would be something to use against unarmored or if you added one of the Rad mods against Infested since you'd need to counter Toxic Ancient's aura. Anstrum Incarnon is pure elemental. Which plays into my mentioning the War Riven I had. Pure elemental was incredibly useful before. Usually didn't have much for numeric damage output but you countered that with damage amp abilities. In War's case neither were needed and it would have just been a monster weapon. I used Torrid forever. Long before it's current state. Pox also. Players used to complain about Armor scaling but refused to pick up a pure elemental weapon. The trick was simple. You could amp weapon damage easily but only Mirage and now Citrine can amp status rates. The changes to level scaling and the status system just didn't solve anything and opened instant AoE up to the higher level ranges.
  11. In the previous status /scaling system many weapons seen as waste were actually useful in different situations. Weapons like Serro or Lacera enhanced by ability damage amps would shred armor. I had a War Riven unveiled as %Weapon Damage, %Crit Dmg, %Toxic, -%Impact. Pretty much a perfect roll before the status changes and by adding Puncture / Slash to the previous 90% Impact weapon. There were a lot more conditionally optimal builds before. Like Viral + Electric out scaling pure Toxic unless it was a x3 base CD weapon. Viral + Slash was out scaled by pure physical bleed long as you were hitting high enough level targets and the weapon was 70%+ Slash weight. Level and status behavior made a notable difference in what you'd pick as a weapon and elemental combos.
  12. It's just a theory because Mesa's Peacemaker uses a jank LoS system to bypass issues they're addressing now. She queues all targets for roughly 2 seconds. It's why the jump spin is so effective. She can continue to hit targets when LoS is broken. EDIT: It's also something console and other platforms can't really do as well. Mesa is objectively stronger on PC. That gif isn't sped up or anything. It's just me raw footage =D
  13. Mesa nerf incoming. She's one of the many band-aid methods DE used to avoid addressing LoS which has been an issue since 2015. There was a time when Radial Blind was the best CC in the game until LoS was added. So it's certainly not a Dante only thing.
  14. I could get behind weapon specific mods. Esp things like Viber's mag size, ammo efficiency or grakata's two special mods. I like some of the specialized mods like Grakata because they change how you would use the gun but aren't really better compared to mutation. I was going to bring this up in my own topic but anyone notice the Exilus slot polarity is almost always wrong?
  15. This was a long time ago. Before DE started moving resources to build things out of enemy drops. They probably wouldn't have had to do those workarounds and enemies could still drop cool stuff. When I came back I of course used Nekros for Diemos/Zaramin and I use Shmeeta for Void Fissure/Netracells (Lanthorns) to Buy Yota's Pinions and free kuva. Oh I used Shmeeta for Voruna also on the Demolists.
  16. Unless it's like this week where a mission had 50% HP as Overguard. I ran my Night Equinox. Very good Slow, Sleep and Enemy Damage Reduction. Totally useless in that mission. Decent in the others. Just shows how destructive Overguard is to both CC and protection frames. "Here's Nyx, Equinox and Vauban with a full Overguard mission. Oh and a middle finger". #Difficulty.
  17. I mentioned years ago. Well before Shmeeta that they should remove meta farming frame skills. DE considers people using these for new resources so it only really hurts players who don't use them. No one wins in these situations.
  18. I imagine it's because of Circuit which is a terrible parse. Most players have probably never been that far in a normal mission. I'm probably one of the more qualified players to talk about this subject and yet I don't bring up level cap because there's no longer a point in those runs. They used to be fun for actually making use of all the power creep. Min/Maxing a build to perfection but the changed to Enemy Defense Scaling ruined it. Old exponential enemy defense scaling. Solo.
  19. CC frames aren't unusable. They just aren't worth using. Similar for most. 5 years back stat smashing problems away had already started to lead the pack. Orb of Vallis with bubbles everywhere. SP Corpus bubbles everywhere. Overguard just insured there was little reason. If you're stat smashing you hardly notice Overguard. If you're a CC frame you very much notice it. With DR stacking like Citrine + Trinity you can get millions of eHP which will serve you well into level 4k range. Shield Gating for offensive casters. A room of enemies dies in 1-2 seconds, Why bother to control them?
  20. Yep. It's actually what made me quit playing for 5 years. I was an endurance runner, mostly solo towards the end. Just my thing to stay entertained. Instead of balancing offense vs defense to get far in levels as you could it's now simplified to just don't die. Players were obsessed with Armor scaling and really it didn't need to scale to remain cumbersome. Give an enemy 500 Armor and it's still 62% DR. Options against Armor didn't change. We gained Heat but lost Pure Physical Bleed for certain weapons. We also lost Blast, Gas, Viral + Electric, Gas + Cold also. In the previous status system I managed to find value in every damage type except Magnetic. Now it's generally just Corrosive, Viral, Heat, Toxic, Bleed. I find it mechanically inferior and they solved nothing.
  21. I think it's more you don't really need a 12x Sonar anymore. You hardly need a 3x group buff to go well into the thousands in levels. Citrine is good for other reasons though. She's another DR stacker for actually surviving without Shield Gate shenanigans. She's one of two frames in the game that can amp up status rates which is esp potent when utilized correctly.
  22. If you use Heat then Umbra Fiber is fine. The extra set bonus makes up for using an armor mod. If you use Ice it's 180% on top of 2000% so the mod slot is better used by a raw HP source like Primed Vigor or QT. QT being the highest value but also the less reliable of the two. After doing the math which I'll show below. Heat is also marginally less prone to bleed death. Every time I get hit with a Bleed Chroma dies in seconds. Heat would last about 50% longer but lose the 0 damage taken on some guns and slow. The extra +50% Power comes from Parazon kill snapshot on Vex though it was inaccurate of me to apply it to Ward. I did it for consistency because I'd already done one comparison using the full 404% Power. Yes, Primed Vigor is a login. What made you pull him out now? Since they changed Warframe armor from being Ferrite and double dipping him. He's been decent. EDIT: Crap. Just realized I did all that using Chroma's old base armor values. Fixed.
  23. It's not a recent thing at all. It's almost a decade old problem they just kept making worse. The first shift was Damage 2.0 and the introduction of Survival. This shift continued to move for many years as DE insisted on keeping players under level 100 while actual frame / weapon performance had gone far beyond. Many skills like WoF were casualties of this player power creep. Single target still had value but only level 300+ and usually a secondary weapon. V. Marelok, Akstilleto, Sicarus Prime where often used by endurance runners to deal with high level priority targets. The next big shift was Steel Path. No idea why they decided more enemies = better gameplay. The next big shift was nerfing enemies defense scaling so AoE always worked despite level scaling. Now we're here with a room of 50 enemies made of paper. What reasonable choice is left?
  24. Huh? 130k eHP is the highest Chroma can get. Taking needless damage is how Chroma stays alive longer. It keeps Adaptation stacks and Grace proc'd. It's when either of those are off that he's in trouble. He's not like Rhino where you get a solid 150k Overguard then play decent. Chroma is actually better playing quasi bad. At 96.5% DR + ~50% Adaptation he only takes 1.75% Damage from everything but Bleeds. Other status effects don't even matter much. If you want to use Rolling Guard to counter Bleeds that's fine but nothing else in what you posted would help him stay alive better. Personally I used Deflection since Nourish removes the need for Energize and Viral status is just busted.
