please retire "change of plans"

"Change of plans Tenno, ignore your original objective. The enemy have surrendered and waved the white flag. Your new objective is a friendly game of Lunaro! Welcome to the Conc..." Quits Game.

"Change of plans Tenno, ignore your original objective. The Capture target has passed along my Internet Browser history to his little idiot friends, now this is a Warcrime... ahem Extermination mission. Leave absolutely nothing alive!"

"Change of plans Tenno, ignore your original objective. Turns out these Grineer are actually the good ones, its hard to tell sometimes, they all look alike. What.. come on Tenno, they are clones. You even say they are ugly and dumb too. Anyway... this is now a Defection mission. Escort the Grineer defectors to the exit, blah blah, Infested or Corpus will show up, shoot them instead. Also if you can, bring back some Greek Yogurt. Lotus out!".

"Change of plans Tenno, ignore your original objective. These Corpus Spy Vaults barely have any feet stuff or oil wrestling at all. Like there are a few Crewman Onlyfans in here, but not the good stuff, you feel me? I wanted to see some Bursa on Moa action, multiple Ospreys going at it, maybe some Amalgams action if I am feeling spicy. Maybe capture one dude or something and call it a day. Yeah sure, this is now a Capture mission. Proceed to the newly marked target."

... I do

always get a good laugh when that annoying speedrunner Volt who kept unwanted speed boosting me rage quits cause he rushed too hard and turned the capture into exterminate

it's the only comeuppance they ever see, so please leave it in

Well, I don't think that it is fun when she says AFTER you fulfill the mission objective.

Honestly, idea would be for regular missions (If you run them lol) you get the reward/drop pool of that extra 'Change of Plans' plus the one that you did already.

So you run Capture, it turns into Exterminate you get that drop pool as well.

If they can code it double up the Relic Cracking if possible, though that one is most unlikely.

Mobile Defence turning into Exterminate is fine imo. It makes it actually easier and faster to finish.

Spy turning into Exterminate makes sense because Lotus explains you triggered too many alarms and have to get rid of the witnesses.

Capture turning into Exterminate doesn't make sense and it's not properly explained by Lotus either. It feels random too. Like, if it was triggered by taking too long to capture the target and Lotus says there's a rescue squad on the way so you have to eliminate them or something, that would be fine.

I think when Lotus says, "Leave nothing alive," she's just angry, for no reason, and wants everyone dead.

Maybe it's just that time of the month.

It doesn't happen randomly

the trigger is based on if you capture the target Too Fast

So it exclusively exists to frustrate those trying to complete the 90s Nightwave (accursed be its name) challenge? Even more reason to remove it.

Remove the NW Challenge? Yeah I agree. its a bad challenge that encourages bad gameplay habits.

the 30 min survival one should really go too, seems hypocritical of DE to have it when they keep telling us they want to discourage endless mission farming.

I can not confirm. Sometimes I have my target within 30 seconds or less and it happens, sometimes I take my time and it still happens.

I kinda like the idea that a mission can change objectives occasionally but I feel like there has to be a reason. Currently it just feels like Lotus randomly woke up and chose violence today. It'd be more interesting if there was a cause, like maybe there's a 1/100 chance that if you fail a spy vault it triggers some enhanced security system and now you're just fighting to get out alive (kill everyone). Or maybe an invasion just hit that mission node and you have to pick a side on the fly or join forces with the guys you were just killing to fend off infested. It's a system with potential to be interesting but it desperately needs a total overhaul to be anything more than an annoyance.

literally nobody appreciates it when a quick Capture turns into an Extermination after you caught the guy. it's about time this "feature" gets retired

I can also happen on Spy missions, but you need to trigger the alarm on all three spy objectives.

My husband was really expecting to be able to kill the Lotus on New War just because of this "change plans" on Capture missions. He was so sad when he discovered this option wasn't available. 🤣😂🤣

Eh. It's just speedrunners who get annoyed. Revenant mains like myself just smirk and go back to killing stuff.
