That's his point. Claiming that killing enemies is literally effortless and the REAL gameplay is just making your build

But he is right. Its collecting game. Everything revolves around getting stuff just to get different stuff in different way. First you work to get loadout (deck) that somewhat works for your playstyle, than you try some fancy stuff (primes, primed mods etc), than you try to get arcanes, rivens, something flashy that you want but dont really need (almost like foiled cards).

Huh. I always thought that the game was like, when any other shooter gives you the option to customise your gear and gameplay, but then taken to an extreme level.

What you’re describing sounds like… shuffling some cards around with zero impact on gameplay. Like, a deckbuilder, if the decks you were building didn’t make a difference.

Not sure I’d consider a game like Magic a Deck Builder if I could work Pokemon and standard cards into the mix with zero influence on the game

Deck building works when you are competing with other deck builders.

So I don't see this getting translated to warframe as is, but a spinoff could work.

Yes he is. The gameplay is different obviously but the core concept of collecting things just to have them is very CCG like. Every rewards structure and progression systems in warframe revolves around collecting and using different pieces. Most things in warframe are not even good enough to be used but we do get them anyway.

Yeah, especially the part where you don't build a deck 🙄 In Warframe you add enhancements to equipment, which is completely different.

You build a frame, weapon and mod/arcane collection. You build loadout with that, like a deck.

No. You dont have to collect cards there, in warframe those cards just happen to be frames, mods and weapons that are the same for every player.

Deck builders aren't necessarily about collecting.

In Diablo 2 those cards just happen to be weapons, armor and socketables.

Warframe isn't a deck builder because there's no deck to build. Deck builders are by definition card games and Warframe obviously isn't. That it even needs to be said 🙄

And i said warframe is like CCG, not deckbuilder. It has more in common with them than you want to admit.

 

In diablo gear is random so by deffinition everyone has something different, cards must be the same for every player.
