Steve was fed the question incorrectly.

His reaction was correct, but the issue we as players are having is with the "Manditory" mods.

Yes, mods allow for greater customization than a skill tree does.

No, nobody thinks the devs are running out of ideas (ie. Scrapping the bottom of the barrel)

The problem is that we don't have 8 spots for rifle mods, we have 6. Serration and Multishot do not leave our gun ever.

We don't have 10 spots for warframe mods, we have 9 or 8 or less. Redirection and/or Vitality and/or Streamline is installed on 99% of our builds.

Some players don't want lesser versions of Serration - That's not a fix. We don't want that kind of mod at all - Or we want options when it comes to the manditory mod(s).

Tree with mod slots in CBT was perfect and allowed much much more variety since nodes took care of "mandatory" mods.

And sorry but 3 tiers of same mod is the evidence bottom of barrel has a huge hole due to excessive scraping. So yeah they are beyond that.

just going to throw this out but something that has always baffled me is how come the damage of your weapons doesnt increase as you rank them just like your shields energy and health increase as you rank up a frame

could easily replace serration, I'm all up for that idea.

"Easily" is a very strong word. Many players have made platinum off of, and sank many credits and cores into Serration mods.

Serration as the first Gun Aura card? Idk, I'm not the designer.

Veteran player like myself agree on the Mandatory mods. Using the main damage mods its also hard to pass the critical and elemental damage mods as well because of this. Are you suggesting increasing mod slots?

Corpus Freeze-Ray!

Edit: I'm not kidding, this is legit. They mentioned it a few streams back.

I honestly think DE could make a skill tree that both provides greater customization than the current mod system and would erase the problem of all builds being the same thing.

Like you said, some mods are on all the frames and same for weapons. My Soma build is practically the same as my Amprex, my Boltor Prime, my Tetra, and that's where it gets boring and repetitive. Skill trees could allow for specific types of weapons and each frame to be specialized and customized; we would TRUELY decided what our frames are useful for. Also, the skill trees could be branched of using the no-where-finished Focus system.

Isn't that what the focus system was originally about? Specialising weapons and frames for certain tasks and purposes? Look at how well that would fit in with customization and a skill tree system. Nice job pushing that back just for Kubrows..
