Allow Sliding To Knock Down Enemies

Similarly to how jumping and holding forward and crouch lets you knock down enemies, I thought being able to slide into enemies to knock them down would be a nice addition.

Basically, the warframe slides into an enemy and kicks their legs. The enemy falls and that opens them up for a ground finisher. I think it will work better that having to jump first because sometimes there's not enough room for the jump or I end up too high or hit the ground before I reach the enemy.

There's no extra animation or anything required. Just make it do a little damage, like the air kick, and knock them over.

This would kind of be really really, incredibly OP, because it would give every single frame amazing crowd control. Just picture it in your mind, how easy it is to slide into three or four enemies without dieing, and now imagine knocking them all over with utter impunity

Actually it's not as OP as you would think. Firstly, the flying kick already allows us to do this (it's just that people don't really seem to use it). Secondly, it'll rely heavily on one's skill in aiming, both for the initial slide and for any follow-up shots and attacks.

It's a good idea, but I would prefer to slide BETWEEN their legs, and have them be stunned and confused in a comical fashion. Perhaps a timed melee press could add a groin punch on the way by.

In all seriousness, though, I do think it would be a cool addition. I don't know why people don't use the jump kick more often, it's awesome.

it should ragdoll small enemies (like crawlers and drahks), knockdown medium enemies (like lancers and crewmen), and stagger heavy units (like bombards, techs, and any eximus units [maybe fully knockdown small units if they are eximus]). Sometimes jumping goes too high or leads to vision obscuring positionins (in certain rooms/tilesets), so divekicking/bullet jumping is annoying to do for enemy knockdowns sometimes.

Plus, enemies from far away are still able to shoot at you =P
it would make the risk reward a bit more dynamic for close range encounters.

The flying kick requires much tighter spacing than the theoretical each-and-every-slide. And no, aiming the slide really isn't hard at all

it doesnt need to be OP. Al frames could have  a % chance to slide and trip down enemys, DE could add a MOD to increase that chance.

It could also make some convinations for more exilus mods.

Slide boost: X% to make enemys trip while sliding

Fast slide: Slide + speed boost

Acrobatic slide: parkour + slide

And soo on, sounds right for me take a +1

You mean like melee? :P

would be all for it, provided the action would be tripping their legs and then tossing them over your head / they sail over your head.

an interesting alternate option to Sliding into Enemies while in the Air, where they fall away from you.

so....

like how you can Slide into Enemies while in the air, and knock down infinite Enemies?

and repeat it over and over?

right...

In the air it requires tighter spacing, can be preformed less often, can't be started from a standstill, hits fewer enemies, and requires more technical skill on the part of the player. On the ground you could just scoot around the battlefield forever

use of Air Sliding:

from a standstill, press forwards, Jump, and Slide at the same time. tap them all if you wish, only holding Slide afterwards to keep it from cancelling.

do it until the end of time if you want.

use of Sliding:

while Sprinting forwards, Slide.

basically the same usage here.

use of Air Sliding:

While sprinting on the ground, Jump while between 4 and 7 meters from the target (because the hitbox does not appear until the apex of your jump) and press crouch. This will hit about three targets, after which it takes nearly 2.5 seconds to begin another aerial kick

- - - - -

use of Sliding:

while Sprinting forwards, press crouch over and over again, hitting everything in your path, with a hitbox that comes out in less than a tenth of a second, from any distance between zero and six meters, with less than half a second of cooldown
