Archwing In Sortie Pool Missions [Straw Poll]

And yet archwings are so OP compared to the enemies that our survivability barely matters compared to ground combat. Itzal can turn invisible and untagetable indefinitely and for longer than Loki, Odonata can stun all enemies within 40 archwing meters using an AoE attack that comes out in 2 frames, and your starting weapon is an HMG with unlimited ammo. Anything not named "Hellion Dargyn" is practically incapable of killing you

Are you playing low level archwing missions?

Sure. Because Jordas Golem runs for Atlas pieces didn't have enough lvl 5 Odonata leechers everywhere.

Sortie requires lvl30 frames, so you would need a lvl30 odonata to play.

I can support the idea, just please no AW defense, that is the most boring thing I've ever seen in this game.

No, he's right.  Unless it has "hellion" in the name and One sits there and face tanks the missiles or it's a Corpus Grenadier(right name?) most Archwing enemies aren't very effective for quite a while since they're horrible shots and rely on the odd hit that does connect.  My Odonata prime has 1800 shields and 1600 hp, and the Imperator (standard) makes mince meat of everything.  For a while.  It'll take a lot of firepower to bring me down in return.  Mind, I only go as far as wave 4 on Uranus, because I can't tolerate endless.

I guess the Ogma hits hard too but hrm... if his attacks hit you, you deserved to get shot down.

I love archwing, i'd be excited to see it in.

Really dont see what all the fuss is about with archwing. The more i play it the more i like it. I wish there were alot more maps for it honestly, it's good fun and a great change of pace from the norm.

I'm convinced most people don't like Archwing because they actually have to move around and aim and can't cheese it with CC spam and invulnerability level healing, like normal Warframe.  They also have to start over from scratch technically, having no mods and shallow equipment selections, unlike where they likely are now with Warframe.  Sadly, the selection of mods and equipment isn't very big anyway.

But to be honest, I think Archwing is delivered poorly and barely supported to start - I imagine a lot of people figured we'd be more flying fighters, not VTOLs.  Shoehorning in normal warframe modes isn't helping Archwing to stand apart as anything special either.  Defense being just another "defend this stationary object" mission kind of defeats the potential here, and sort of goes counter to how I think people imagine archwing to play, that is, high speed combat, faster than even Warframe (we've only strapped two freaking void-powered rocket engines to our &#!.)  When I think "airplane defense" I'm thinking escorting something from point A to point B for example (without requiring shield energy to power it.)

It has gotten better, but it has a long way to go, and it's own identity to flesh out, rather than being like a poor developer's attempt to copy Warframe to the letter with some unique gimmick thrown in to call it different.

What? Archwing is nothing but CC cheese...

Defense/Interception - Elytron Thumper for the win. Sabotage - Elytron Warhead OHKO of target. Itzal's Penumbra + Cosmic Crush works far too well for all missions, actually trying to use your gun is so much less effective by comparison (especially with the stupid shielded enemies), why bother. Peacemaker/Greedy Pull were changed, yet those abilities were far less abusive/abused than their Archwing counterparts. Melee is more effective than the Archguns as well, you can even close your eyes in a group of enemies and let the auto-target flit you about to dispatch them.

I'd want to see Archwing 2.0 before it got added to sorties. But really, I don't care that much...if the majority wants Archwing sorties (which I doubt), I'll just skip those days. Yes...I have farmed and leveled every single piece of Archwing gear, I have every mod, I've even put a forma in some things, so I've definitely given it a fair shake, it's just bad, and worse than that it's boring.

The answer is: It's not ready for that yet.

Maybe in time, it will be ready. But it's just not there yet. We need to give that some time.

I think people don't realize the biggest underlying issue with archwing isn't bugs or lack of content so much, it's that it feels so completely different in terms of scaling/pace/expected leveling speed etc. etc.

Until it is brought into line with the rest of the game, it will not be ready, and it will continue to be unpopular. This is the biggest issue with archwing that needs to be addressed. It doesn't feel like a different part of the game with new mods you need to level, it feels too much like a completely different standalone game. And that's a really big issue that needs to be solved.
