  1. I like it just because he's the most "normal" person we've personally dealt with. He's not a Sentient, some ideology driven Syndicate head, a ridiculously short Ostron, a half-Infested Orokin, yet another Cephalon, nor is he a refrigerator chest. And that's saying something for the lover of the most influential Orokin ever who was put in stasis for who knows how long and now has to deal with the void-touched trauma child and a menagerie of traumatized talking animals.
  2. That said an AH system of any sort would be ripe for far more abuse. Players could just run bots to buy out any item below their desired market value the moment it's listed. Or players could automate back and forth selling at an inflated price to inflate the value of things.
  3. There's at least four problems here. We don't know how many Tenno currently exist in canon, we don't know if our wealth is supposed to be canon, we don't know the actual value of such things, and you're assuming we'd be allowed to purchase said things in the first place (sure we can buy Debt Bonds but we're not buying their freedom). But it's really just a case of you shouldn't be taking every gameplay interaction as a canonical part of the game's story.
  4. Then you immediately failed in that aspect as your posted this in general discussion instead of one of the Feedback subforums. DE rarely ever looks here as there's no reason for them to do so. But also this topic is so old that the horse has long since turned to dust. DE knows players want changes to the trading system and yet DE has continued to say "no" and not make any changes.
  5. The most I could ever see DE doing is implementing a WF Market type system in game but leaving all the other steps in place. And even then since WF Market already exists DE doesn't really have any pressing need to do anything. Plus there's even less of a reason for them to change it since players still actively engage in trade so the lack of any "improvements" isn't detracting from engagement. And anything beyond that though should be a hard never. The game lacks the systems necessary to allow a proper game economy to function causing value to be propped up by the artificial scarcity created by necessitating being online and not doing anything else in-game. Anything that automated/streamlined parts of the trade process is just going to hurt the value of anything that isn't actually rare like some Arcanes and Rivens. Which just harms far more players than it helps.
  6. Then once yet more Primed mods and stronger variants release yall will be right back here demanding more capacity and more mod slots. The line has to be drawn somewhere to prevent the inevitable progression of this mindset of just allowing every mod on at once. Plus pushing for yet more damage is just going to force DE to look at damage attenuation more and more as the only solution to this powercreep. Ultimately we'll reach the point where DE wants the newest content to at least be slightly harder than the previous addition and resort to attenuation on everything. Thus killing all the investment on those over-Forma'd builds.
  7. I don't see any issues here as it is just the modding system working as intended. Plus there isn't even any content in the game (that isn't mindless endless for the sake of endless) that even warrants a fully forma'd weapon min-maxed for fitting all the highest capacity mods. But melee is presented with the disadvantage of being melee. Why run up to an enemy which both puts you in range of their attacks and makes their guns more likely to hit you when you can brain them form down the hall or nuke everything in the room with your guns? Since this issue can't really be solved with the modding system it at least helps for melee weapons to take less investment to "max out" compared to guns and have a greater upper limit for modding. While Frames have the opposite issue of being too important to not have under-modded. If someone newer to the game wants to push into harder content to get more upgrades they'll face the unique struggle of lacking access to Reactors and Forma. Thus the extra capacity from Auras steps in to ease that issue. Plus it also helps lower MR players when they do get to using Forma since they have a lower starting gear level after using it. And as for melee abilities there's a multitude of problems with those systems. But they do at least have their unique advantages be it massive AOE, actually being ranged instead, or outright invulnerability.
  8. Never said that Blood Rush is min-maxing. Stacking it with every crit buff you can would be and the cost of doing so is the loss of other options in their places. Not every weapon is good for such a setup and would get more value for investment with Duplicate and not everyone wants to slap every crit buff on. Sure you can call that niche but I'd call crit min-maxing niche since nothing demands using such a setup. Really it's just like most everything else we have: more build options.
  9. If it wasn't a mastery lock it'd need to be some other progression lock instead. Giving players access to too much at once, especially ones who're brand new, is just going to overwhelm players with all the options. And if anything the game already has a massive problem with this in giving access to open worlds far too early.
  10. It's good on weapons that can't hit those higher tiers easily and/or on ones that need far more mod investment to reach them. Plus Exposure requires ability spam which not all frames/builds are good for making Duplicate a more universal option. Or even something like a Kai build where Duplicate is really just there to get more status procs or more chances at triggering the Kai attack. So it's definitely not pointless unless you're exclusively care about min-maxing.
  11. But if they did Overguard first then we'd need ways to get Overguard on the squishy frames that players were having issued with. Meaning if we eventually got improves shields we'd just be in a similar situation as we are currently but with the option of Overguard on everyone. Though personally I wouldn't have minded some form of it earlier in the game as it might have prevented P.Sure Footed from existing. As for frames like Nidus, Inaros, and Hildryn they're all outliers for their weird stats. But I'd imagine it's only a matter of time before we see Overguard pushed into at least Inaros. Plus Nidus and Hildryn have their passives to deal with one-hits.
  12. Uh, no you didn't. Shield gating was added in 27.2 (March 5th, 2020) while Archon Hunts were added in 32.0 (Sep. 7th, 2022). As for shields prior to gating (what was being talked about in what you quoted) shields were beyond useless as enemies would melt them, high level enemies like Bombards and Ancients could one-shot you regardless of your shields, and the only mod that directly affected shield survivability was Adaptation (only added in 23.10) which is very relevant as health has always had DR through armor. And yeah while good movement does wonders for survivability that alone never made old shields viable.
  13. Except Shield Gating came out of the age old complaints of shields being a worthless stat. Which they would have continued to be if Overguard was made first. Plus without gating on some system we'd still have the complaints about one-shots from high level enemies.
  14. No it's the average player that was out of touch. Before we started getting any of that DE talked about a "year of new war" or something along those lines. And we got exactly that with events literally about the Sentients invading the entire system. And just in general players really need to stop complaining about the lore/story when they pick and choose which parts they pay attention to. Also players left after the quest because the entire content of the update was just New War and the post quest bounties. Players had nothing to do after spending the two hours or so on the quest (there was Caliban but we see how well he's received) but wait for the next update. Plus there's the players who got thankfully filtered out of the game for somehow finding the quest too hard to finish.
  15. Yeah but it makes sense for Tagfer to be away from the rest of the characters given his demeanor and trying to keep quiet about why he wants you to go to the Netracells while Fib is stuck in a fish bowl. So there locations do make sense in that regard. Would it though? Even if the two characters in the sanctum were swapped around it'd take longer to then walk down the hall to the exit than it currently does to take the teleport.
  16. But why would it matter where they sit when they already solved the issue with the teleport portals?
  17. Players expecting a war should have been paying attention to the game then. We already got that through the content and events prior to New War while the quest was the ending and resolution of said war. Unless players somehow think Scarlet Spear and Orphix Venom were just another tuesday in the story.
  18. Yeah that's kinda what happens when you solo engage with a system literally built for groups of players. Also clan events aren't some new concept. That said when it comes to clan events the only real difference in having others or being solo is how much grind it takes to reach the highest tier event statue (if it's even possible). Meaning all you're ever really missing out on is a cosmetic for your dojo.
  19. Except we've had the Sentients and Wally brought up as the larger threats rather early in the overall story. So for a long time now we've had the "final boss" in sight but those have been looming threats while we've had smaller immediate ones happening. And odds are there won't be a more final boss than Wally while we'll continue to get more immediate threats from other sources (like how the Sentients/Narmer are technically still a threat).
  20. Except said Arcanes aren't necessary for anything outside of SP and armor scaling had been a point of contention since the game released. Really the only benefit of bothering with SP Arcanes outside of running more SP is to widen one's available pool of viable weapons for the current "end-game" content. Also SP was never mostly for bragging rights. As the increased affinity from the level increase made it ideal for stealth farming Focus and the Essence shop was the best way to amass Kuva and Relics. Both of which were the case from day one of the mode.
  21. Pretty sure the Drifter's default appearance is based on your Operator's face options. Which yes can result in some unfortunate appearances due to them having entirely different base faces. But still, the moment you're back in the Orbiter as the Drifter you had the option to change their appearance. So even if immersion breaking it's only for a short period of time.
  22. SP was optimal* from the start since it gave you more rewards than normal. Everything done since then is just a continuation of the original implementation. That said it is still 100% optional since you don't require anything that's exclusive to SP. Going through a farm slightly faster isn't mandatory and even the upgrades acquired through SP aren't mandatory anywhere except maybe in SP itself. Plus this is all very standard fare for having the option of harder content as it should be more rewarding than normal. *And even then if you want to look at it from the time saving angle technically opening your wallet and/or plat farming is the most optimal route for most of the game. As there's no faster way to get new content than buying plat/selling items to get them off the market or from other players.
  23. Pretty much all the big questions have been answered though except for Stalker, Wally's exact motives, and the whole 1999 business. IIRC Stalker was meant to be the centerpiece of The Sacrifice but got written out of it. Wally is (and has been) the big threat it's just we don't know exactly what they want. And 1999 should get some answers in the next major update. Though perhaps the biggest issue with the story/lore is how spread out it is. Like nobody is going to understand the full picture without picking out all the extra and hidden lore. Like everything tucked away in the fragments and the hidden transmissions in some of those. Plus there has been the out of game additions like the Prime trailers or the old Ask a Cephalon QA they'd do.
  24. Or players can figure things out themselves through trial and error, it isn't that hard. As for the actual question there's not much of a reason to not fully display mods since chat linking shows what they do at all times. Though I'd say to not overwhelm players it should only show mods that can be obtained through the content you've unlocked (ie: not showing TennoKai mods until Whispers is complete). And only showing the location they drop in instead of each enemy so that scanning retains its purpose.
