  1. You have proof for the claim that spawn rate is hard capped by what platform the host is on and has nothing to do with connection quality or speed? because this is the first time ive heard of it. Even if that is true, then that's something DE should address by figuring out a way to make that not a thing. And if they cant for some reason, id rather you fix the "problem" on your end by turning off cross platform play than have them change the parameters to set host by platform and not by connection quality because thats gonna cause problems for everyone, *including pc players*.
  2. I dont know how many founders still play the game but the fact theyre starting cross save with such a small subset of the player base makes me think theyre still a ways off from a full release. But theyve been saying "by end of this year" for awhile now. I think people are gonna he upset if it goes down that way. (If anyone doesnt know what im talking about they said in dev stream cross save is starting with founders)
  3. Good luck with this thread. I remember vividly when people (myself included) were criticizing the tau shard system and there were people that would spew toxicity and nonsense as hard as possible. YOURE JUST AN ENTITLED CRYBABY WAAAAH etc. I dont know if its a white knight issue, and they feel compelled to crusade on behalf of DE's honor because they cant bear the thought of their fair maiden facing any criticism, or "but muh power creep is the devil" people expressing vitriol because they hate the concept of having anything new and actually useful to earn in general, or both. They did say there'd be another way to earn them and hopefully that includes tau. Maybe we'll finally be able to merge into tau. They also said all the effects shown were placeholder so there's that. Im wondering what the melee arcanes are going to be.
  4. Pvp opens up a huge can of worms. But it would be nice to see railjack made more relevant.
  5. Its an elitest L take to pretend console players are the only ones with bad connections. If you're frequently running into bad connections maybe its YOUR internet being potato.
  6. I disagree. If it was "working" and not just *trying to work* the differences in stats between high and low dispo would be enough to make weak weapons compete with good ones and a lot of times, not every single time, but a lot of times, that just isnt true. "But eccho! If you use bane mods and like 10 forma and boost damage and strip armor and align the stars just right and hit up up left right b a start 10 times in 1 second you can still kill stuff" Yeah okay. But why bother if other weapons dont need that much help to be just as effective if not more so.
  7. I understand that the site isnt run by DE, but if enough people brought attention to the sites shortcomings i think a case could be made for DE to make something that accomplishes the same goal. Or reaching out to them and being like hey, you're S#&$ting up our brand ease off the ads. Or at bare minimum this thread will spread awareness that ad blockers are a thing and oh my god though i feel OP's pain. As for the last part sometimes i just want to check something obscure like idk some random ability for a frame i never use or a mod im not familiar with and im playing on console and dont want to boot up my pc
  8. I can put a price on jars filled with farts. Just because you can put a price on something doesnt mean its prudent to do so. "No not really" YES really despite your mental gymnastics. "Lessening progression roadblocks" is another way of saying my point. They have "lessened progression roadblocks" many times, which they have never had an incentive to NOT DO. Im not interested in entertaining your antics with semantics about the differences between "grind" and "progression". Suggesting theres no grind involved in getting "caught up" is just intellectually dishonest. Which brings me to the next point, it absolutely isnt a hypothetical, to suggest if they implement a pay to skip quest feature, that they wouldnt be incentivized to nudge people towards skipping the quests from then on out. The more people that pay to skip, the more money theyd make. That isnt some hypothetical what if bud thats a cold hard fact. If 0 people hit the button they make zero dollars off it. If 100 people hit the button they make some money. If 100k people hit the button they make more money. So why should they give a hoot if a quest is too long or too hard or too grindy or has too many prerequisites or has too many "progression roadblocks" or is just plain not that much fun to play and people just skip it? what IS hypothetical, and we can debate this part, is how DE might or might not handle that in the future. Maybe they'll turn to the dark side kinda like how Eververse was only supposed to be cosmetic, optional items and now the game is a microtransaction hell. Or maybe they wont. I do think the most likely scenario is somewhere in the middle which is worse off than where we are now and honestly the whole idea seems rediculous. Might as well throw in a feature into games where if you cough up some cash it goes straight to end credits.
  9. "Theres no greed because the game is free". A free to play game can still have questionable monetization strategy and one of my biggest reasons for supporting DE over the years is ive always felt like theyve generally managed to avoid feeling scummy. Unlike a lot of devs. I dont see how "free skip" is selfish. 1) either skipping is bad or it isnt in my opinion. If its bad, you shouldnt be able to just buy permission to do the bad thing. If its not bad, you shouldnt have to pay for it. 2) i could say the same thing about skipping. The second dream, war within, sacrifice, etc, all of that just *poof* gone and irrelevant in the blink of an eye. You wouldnt know anything about whats actually going on. 3) i kinda get what youre saying "oh sure why not just hit the skip button and get whatever weapons/etc instantly" but this kind of segways into the next point, DE has in fact felt it necessary to nerf grind and or story content and or crafting requirements many, many times, in response to player feedback. And DE has never had much of a reason not to listen to feedback like that, save for the cost of paying a dev the hours it takes to fix a problem. But you cant tell me this wouldnt give an incentive to DE to keep quest content more grindy/difficult than if a paid skip didnt exist. If whispers in the wall dropped today the best possible case for DE would be a bunch of people play the game and while theyre here they buy plat and maybe some of the cash only stuff. If whispers in the wall dropped today but there was a paid skip option, the more people they can get to pay, the better. So why not have a really annoying boss battle, or resource to farm, or layer of RNG thrown in.
  10. In response to your "least bad solution" post, I would find "skip button" more palatable if it wasnt *paid*. Because aside from the greed aspect of it DE would suddenly be in a position where they have a financial incentive to make quests grindy/long/difficult just to steer players towards that.
  11. Rivens can not have 4 "buffs". Period end of story. There are certain debuffs on certain weapons that are either completely free, or such a trivial downside that people consider it free, or something actually helps. I have a cc/ms/cd riven for nataruk with neg ammo for example. It still has infinite ammo. So it affects literally nothing. So its a free neg. But its still "a neg".
  12. i could have sworn it was though? I think there was even a youtube video about it. Maybe im crazy or mayne it was bugged idk. Viral/heat verglas or rad/cold helstrum. I honestly think rad/cold helstrum is the way to go right now. Its not the most efficient in terms of kills but if a bunch of enemies get cordon'd, then irradiated and or cold, they cant just walk out of it and they'll draw aggro away from you.
  13. Idk how well thats gonna go. On one hand im sure they dont want afk play the game for you aimbot sentinels to be a thing but on the other hand i feel like the current state of companion weapons is just sad. We got 1 or 2 viable status primers and verglas. The rest arent even worth mentioning.
  14. Unless im mistaken it used to apply status to enemies affected by cordon, and now it doesnt. I dont see anything about this in the patch notes. Is it a bug or?
  15. Yeah heres some feedback. Its a terrible idea driven purely by greed. If its "not a greed thing" dont charge for it. If "skip" should be in the game at all.
  16. I really think inaros is overhated. He's one of the best tanks in the game. His 1 is solid. His 2 isnt amazing but it has uses. His 3 is decent especially with augment. His 3 is terrible and his passive is hilariously outdated. But i think we have warframes with bigger problems. Like limbo.
  17. 1) they would suddenly have a financial incentive to make quests arbitrarily longer/grindier than they need to be in order to incentivize skipping, something theyve never had before and something that would only make quests worse overall. 2) they would suddenly *not* have an incentive to make older quests easier less grindy, or more accessible. 3) its gonna put a bad taste in fan's mouthes. 4) its gonna feel like a cash grab to a lot of new players. 5) it would butcher the story narratively speaking. 6) this isnt just about say a warcraft character boosting to level 90 or something theres a signifant amount of story here.
  18. "Well what are we supposed to do" That feels completely disgusting. So now the quests have a financial incentive to be as grindy and aids as possible so people will be more likely to pay
  19. So DE is worried about the latest content drops being too hard to get to for new players because they have to do all the old content first. Kinda like how just for example it takes awhile to get to the new war. Well in the latest dev stream theyre considering adding pay-to-catch-up. Holy mother of god please no. Jesus christ. This is the worst idea ive ever seen. I havent always agreed with DE and that might sound like hyperbole but it is literally the cringiest idea ive ever seen. The chat immediately was like please no. I really hope this is one of those things where they have an idea and the community is like please no and they *listen*. A better solution would be to make more quests co-op enabled.
  20. Idk if i agree with the specifics of how rivens should be reworked but i do think they should be reworked.
  21. It depends. I havent had any trouble with sentinels. Primed regen brings that revive time to 25 seconds and theres no lives limit. And even while a sentinel is down, animal instinct and vacuum still work. As for whether pets are "better" idk about that. Id say it matters what the context is.
  22. Im surprised i made it this far down the thread without seeing any salt about it. But i agree.
  23. Inb4 one or two people start bickering and rather than clean that up DE locks or deletes this entire thread and discussion about the heirloom rip off scam pack quietly goes away.
  24. I think scam is a strong word. Once upon a time it would be easy to sell rare parts for the same price as common parts. And id agree that idk say a rhino prime bp for like 1-5 plat is a rip, but its not like that any more. I think its common knowledge that prime parts are worth less as random parts than as sets. That and, in my experience opening 20 random relics and trying to sell 20 random prime parts is gonna be kind of rough if im just selling a random pile. Unless the parts are new, rare, vaulted, or at least a set i usually end up struggling to get them sold at all for more than "junk prices"
  25. >it wasnt attention seeking Then why do it? >thousand or billions of plat Nobody has billions of plat. >no reason to be so cheap You arent ENTITLED to other people's plat. And if you actually had plat, either because you bought it from the market with IRL money or because you learned how to use trade chat, you probably wouldnt be keen to give it away either. People arent obligated to give you plat for common items and or literal junk tier loot just because you're a new player. Everyone including me was a new player at some point and we all had to earn our plat by either paying for it or learning what people are willijg to pay for and investing time and effort getting those things and more time and effort selling them.
