Mr.SpookSpook
Here is where you can catch Synathid for Ecosynth Analyzer. Use Synathid bait in the cave hotspot. It was cold during the day. The first bait spawned like 7 synathids just before it expired, nothing before that. They are tiny and fast, really hard to hit. Luminous dye is also bugged in caves and will not make all fish visible. https://imgur.com/gallery/jEXtCuA Edited November 16, 2018 by Mr.SpookSpook
IronBerryPie
i have found 2 synathids in a smal cave north east on the map at the very edge to the right of the orokin coolant tower they both spawned at the same time, and i assume a hotspot is an area where the water looks like its glowing, not misty or dark

JohnKable
even if luminous dye is kinda bugged use it if you want to get Synthaids its very small and hard to see without dye. couldnt test with the bait so far, but without it is very rare. i had like 2 spawns on 20min average. At least it is required for very few things. If you want to know if a place has a decent spawn always extract your spearfish and dont move for at least 15 second. if you dont see any fish popping up then find another spot. Smeeta kavat did help a tiny bit, but of course booster is far better. having both is the best way to farm fishes (you can also farm standing in a proper way if you have a booster). use the new mod for 30% ability duration on smeeta, it will grant over 150 secs of double drops... when and if it procs - also i got the reload buff multiple times even going melee only
wrenchedup
yes the dye is hit or miss in the caves but if you throw it out while you kinda see the fish they will illuminate
Myscho
Probably is better catch Charmote and Tromyzon with baits, because without is pretty pain even i catch 3 pcs in one cave hotspot

rastaban75
Fishing is something where I find Plains of Eidolon superior to Orb Vallis. These warm/cold conditions that change fast, hotspots disappearing from sight, lures as individual wares (not recipes of 20) and the obscurity of cave fishing spots make the experience quite frustrating (not to mention I don't find the appearance of Orb Vallis very appealing). I managed to find everything, but it takes lots of patience and flying around from cave to cave and hotspot to hotspot. Still need to grind more to get parts because the rare ones are materials for many useful objects or components. BTW, I always start at the cave that is approx. 1600m due north of the exit of Fortuna as I find it one the best ones for hotspots that can spawn the rare orokin types. Floham
Ok, I've been using the light-up-the-fish-equipment regularly, and it's been showing fish spawning .... not in the water, but under rock. 0o I'm not going to fish again, certainly not using bait, to fish when they can not spawn in the water. Mostly, cave spawns are a problem. Perhaps that blue lava to liquid area is the problem?? Edited November 26, 2018 by Floham

Zeoran
Ok, shoot me if this is a stupid question, but I can't actually SEE any of the pictures you all have posted. I can't download them or anything. I see the filename "xxx.png" or whatever, but I can't click on them or see them. I'm trying to hunt Tromyzon's and the wiki says to look in ponds during cool weather. The first post looked awesome but I can't see the map he provided. Is there a setting I'm missing somewhere that's disabling pictures???
(PSN)Tufcat
Probably should update this to show what fish appear at what temperatures and where. Not a good guide if you have to look at other user's comments to find a certain fish
