(I tried to put this in players help players but it refused to realize I'm logged on)

I am a returning player and my damage with my Soma Prime feels really bad. I hear it got nerfed really hard. This helps explain why my damage feels lack luster.
Now I am really bad when it comes to knowing weapons so any help on a really good weapon to farm in it's place would be appreciated I am MR 10 almost 11.

I'm not a weapons specialist myself, but I am the same rank as you.

I'd need to know what kind of playstyle you want to use before I can suggest a weapon or loadout as well. What are you looking for specifically, not just raw power but the type of weapon you prefer for example.

Well I don't mind most weapons tbh. The only ones I don't enjoy AT ALL are bows. When it comes down to my play style I'm more of a person who uses frames for their abilities. But there are higher missions where I can't just use the abilities and walk away I gotta fight so something that can kill a lot in a short time without needing to get close since *Almost* all my frames are SUPER squish 😄 (Why isn't my name MrSquishy........ It'd make so much more sense)

Hm sounds more like you'd want something in the rifle category considering you used the soma prime I'd assume you're a fan of full-auto weapons, am I right?

I could recommend https://warframe.fandom.com/wiki/Stradavar as a good replacement, it has a good mag size and a decent base crit value so it can be modded to be similar to how the Soma's crits function, it also has a semi-auto mode which can be used for more precise shooting and varies the stats a bit.

This is a middle of the road option since I still need a bit more details, do you want something with more innate damage per shot perhaps? Also what's your preference regarding semi-auto weapons?

I used the Soma Prime in the past since I got it for free from being a twitch prime member so it's not like I'm attached to it or anything. AS for semi-auto weapons that's fine. I have no qualms with pushing my mouse a lot just need a good weapon to fill the gaps bettween no energy and being over whelmed by mobs in high lvls

In that case you could also look into the https://warframe.fandom.com/wiki/Veldt which is somewhat like a mid-range semi auto, some people dislike this weapon but compared to most weapons it can function as a hybrid crit/status weapon and if you're good at headshots it can function like a mini sniper.

If you need something more close range you can also look into this shotgun https://warframe.fandom.com/wiki/Corinth which has an alt-fire that shoots explosions, mag size is a bit small but it can work at close range and mid range once you get used to spacing the explosions.

For dedicated snipers there's https://warframe.fandom.com/wiki/Vectis and https://warframe.fandom.com/wiki/Rubico which can both fit based on your prefered reload style (bolt-action vs revolver mag) being snipers they can have quite the punch and if you prefer to use abilities you can hang back and take out high priority targets from a distance.

These are just a few basic options for the primaries, I tend to favor these weapons I've listed so I'm a bit biased, but you can get ideas from them and find a preference in playstyle from using them. Hope this helps, and if you have any questions on modding them let me know, I am not an expert but I've managed to make these weapons useful on a budget.

Good primary weapons below mr 12 - vectis, hek, ignis, rubico, baza, tigris, zarr, lenz, exergis, phantasma, arca plasmor, lanka, amprex, corinth, quanta vandal. Plenty of those.

Next time you advising new player to grind Arbitrations before they even have 10 hrs played?

Oh darn, I bought Tiberon Prime with PA so MR didn't matter to me, just now noticed that it's MR14 weapon. 

Anyhow, Ignis Wraith is still my top recomendation, it requires MR9, super easy and cheap to craft and is really really strong weapon that can cary you in a long run.
