We started building during the very first wave of dojo additions that added the original Corpus and Grineer decorations and went on to earn some acclaim, including prime time and devstream features with our at-the-time innovative and mechanically complex sculptures. The user interface for dojo design was still in its infancy at the time, with no tools available for part-cloning or easy placement, and the capacity-intensive nature of most parts at the time left us with limited real estate for set design. Much of the feedback, and many of the amazing designers me and my clanmates met while moving forward on our decorating adventure cited our creations as inspirational or as key references in their own decorating adventure, and as a result, we decided to keep the original designs intact and instead decorate around them, slowly reconfiguring the environs into vistas. All of this led to a very sculpture-focused dojo that endeavored to incorporate the area around massive setpieces into an organic design without investing into capacity intensive redesigns of the actual room structure. The original “Tenno” structure peeking through our set design is far more pronounced than in other dedicated sculptor’s creations, but we’ve tried our best to ensure a fantastic viewing experience despite that. Our current dojo layout is split into three categories, which have each have a little bit of overlap. There’s a solid chance we’d be disqualified for spam if I put in every single build we have, so I’ll stick to Our Stance Farm is a collection of sculptures designed around the idea of incarnating Stance Mods. This menagerie includes Swirling Tiger, Tainted Hydra (yes – we did do conclave stances!) , Carving Mantis and many more, each of which have each been meticulously sculpted into colossal robot animals and placed into an appropriate habitat for your viewing pleasure. Noble Cadence – This one doubles as our spawn room, and depicts a roaring dragon flying over a futuristic eastern cityscape. This is one of the original big dragon builds, older than Orokin parts, and built with a heavy Grineer aesthetic. The sides of the have been worked into a series of faux buildings using 2-D facades to save space, and various “building” – esque facilities line the main road the dragon is flying over. Spoiler Spoiler Spoiler Tranquil Cleave – One of the original giant robot builds, this one set the bar for mechanical complexity and part integration way back at the dawn of decorating. In addition, it was one of the first “big” builds of its time, as well as (probably) the first humanoid robot. The robot itself took over two weeks to build as the surface anchors for parts was far more rigid at the time of its constructions, and the lack of a clone tool made mirroring the sides a nightmare. Sadly, the intricate detailing on the machine was completely lost when lighting 2.0 came in. I cried a little when lighting 3.0 brought it back into view. Spoiler Spoiler Spoiler Tainted Hydra – My current masterpiece, this one is an eight headed elemental Hydra depicting the Yamato-no-Orochi, taking inspiration from the mythical creature’s appearances in both Nioh and Okami. This was one of my most intellectually challenging builds, as the elemental pairings in Orochi’s heads allowed me to work a lot of duality and opposing-aspected imagery into the piece, from solar and lunar eclipse reliefs, heaven-and-earth building juxtapositions and the elemental confluences you’d expect from a massive, city-eating monster Spoiler Spoiler Spoiler Swirling Tiger – This one is a giant robot tiger, loosely inspired by ZOIDS and placed into a lush forest. It was one of my first projects after Orokin parts were first released and represents my attempt at using them to replace muscle in my own style. At the time this was built, grineer pipe had come into style – however, the resizing options on the parts needed required that the sculptures built with it be absolutely massive. I was reluctant to use it in the musculature of my own creations as I did not enjoy working at the scale that the use of Grineer pipe necessitated at the time, and this was my attempt at an alternate solution to replicating an organic appearance. Spoiler Spoiler Spoiler Malicious Raptor – Okay, so you’ve seen dinosaurs, and robots and undead and monsters… but what about undead dinosaur robots? This one was a brainchild of mine that had to be shelved for nearly four months due to a medical procedure that made it difficult to sculpt. The idea sort of… festered in my head until I had to express it the moment I was feeling better. A friend of mine named TX52 had been pioneering the use of repeating scale designs to create incredibly lifelike versions of monster hunter monsters, and this mashup was the spin on his technique that I came up with. By integrating a skeletal scaffolding into the design of a scaly hided beast and using bulky parts to provide bulk to the remaining limbs and joints, it becomes possible to dramatically reduce the capacity cost of these stunning creations while keeping all the parts that make them look legitimately amazing. And, you know, you make undead dinosaurs. Spoiler Spoiler Iron Phoenix – Originally designed as a way to use up some of the plat decos clan members had donated that were gathering dust because their increased capacity costs made it hard to justify using them, this jet bird came to life through the use of inherently lit pieces with blue LED channels, white components that took red “dye” from lighting effects and a lot of very careful clipping. Spoiler Spoiler Biting Piranha – Maybe the first actual fish build in the game, this one still makes me blush when I remember that Steve saved it for posterity. You made me very happy by doing that, Beanie-man. Spoiler The Bug Room (Burning Wasp and Carving Mantis) – This one was just a quirky idea that worked out way better than expected. Most of the innovative ideas used in their construction have since become commonplace, so I feel there’s no real need to go into them, but they’ve aged quite well and look fantastic poised against the backdrop of a terrifying insect hive. Spoiler Spoiler Spoiler Other stances completed: Astral Twilight, Cyclone Kraken, Vengeful Revenant, Seismic Palm, Four Riders, Coiling Viper Spoiler Spoiler Spoiler Spoiler Spoiler Spoiler The Collection – A group of pet projects by our secondary decorator, which include a floof conservatory, kitchen, living quarters, dance club, soundstage and probably a few other things I’m forgetting 😉 The Farm – A plot of land with an elaborate series of farm buildings and a wide array of crops. This is a farming sim now. Spoiler The Fools Gambit – a multi-level Bar and DJ booth with a VIP lounge visible through the floor of the primary area. Spoiler Spoiler The Stage – A multi-level concert hall and presentation stage that gets updated with the seasons Spoiler Spoiler Spoiler The Other – A series of small experiments and pet project builds including a servofish aquarium, repair shop, haunted hallway, dojo reactor, duel rooms, meditation area and much more! Main Research Labs - A research facility staffed by tiny robots, and revolving around the Grineer coconut crab and Corpus hermit crab that started it all. Spoiler Spoiler Spoiler Spoiler Servofish Aquarium – A small aquarium complex holding tanks containing roughly half a dozen Servofish Spoiler Spoiler Spoiler Spoiler Spoiler Repair Shop – A repair facility staffed by an eccentric robot. Spoiler Simulation Chamber – A collection of VR chambers staffed by cephalon-operated machines where Tenno can live out their unattainable fantasies. Spoiler The Operation Memorial Museum - a collection of displays showcasing the clan trophies as well as a well-dressed Asura-themed Loki inspired by the clan's fall from a megaclan into AsurO Earth, Water, Wind and Fire before recombining into its current state. Spoiler Missile Silo – The result of my brief dalliance with rocketry, the Peacekeeper 2 is the successor to the original missile project conceived of in my clan. A problem solver for a sophisticated Railjack Spoiler This is Who We Are – A massive sculpture of the clan logo, which, admittedly, is just a two tone letter A. What’s not in the clan logo, however, is some delightful ambiance featuring an enormous ice phoenix freezing over an autumnal landscape while evoking the idea of the transition from fall to winter. When I first created the dojo I didn’t really know what I was doing and the first iteration was a bit of a mess. As the clan grew we decided to destroy the old dojo and start again. The basic concept was to make it mothership like, with an observatory at the front and rear, and a streamline symmetrical look and feel. This was for ease of navigation. We also wanted storage facilities, docking area etc. As the dojo grew we started creating robots as that seemed the thing to do. However, after creating them we realized they were just inanimate objects, we decided to add a back story, the Folly of Milky Joe. In this tale Joe, a fallen Tenno created these robots to fight the Eidolon, however he went crazy working day and night and eventually expired. We created a secret robot laboratory for Joe hidden in the depths of the dojo. This could only be accessed by sheer fluke or by solving a riddle posted on one terminal alone throughout the entire dojo. We wanted to give an air of fun to the dojo and a reason to explore. Spoiler The second riddle we placed was to solve the location of three rings via another terminal, on solving both the Joe riddle and the ring riddle Tenno would receive a rare mod. We are currently creating our third riddle; however, this is nowhere near ready for this competition. We have tried to always have a fun element, from space rooms, to hot tubs, shower rooms and even toilets. Little Easter eggs hidden in every room and yearning for people to explore further. Spoiler Not focusing on how large our dojo is, but making sure each room is individual and has little things that will make you smile. We have an Avayan repair shop, gardens, temples, guardian robot rooms, secret robot labs, vaults, etc. We also have personalized reactor rooms. We decided that the Dojo belonged to all the clan, and people who donated and helped others should be rewarded with their own room as they can do with what they please. From this we have seen some fresh ideas we have also added to the dojo. Spoiler I don’t think the video or the images truly capture what we have tried to achieve here in the short space the clan has been around, and I do recommend visiting. We didn’t create the dojo to win the competition but for the love on the game and the clan. The dojo has a lot of vegetation in it, cause who doesn't love nature! The labs are fairly non-decorated and hence not featured in this post. Anyhow, this was the first time I took up the decoration tool in Warframe but I hope you enjoy my very amateur work. 😄 The Main Hall: Spoiler On the main floor you spawn in to The Main Hall, where you find the trading and 4 of the labs. The labs are a little bit decorated by both me, smug and tonni. The Grand Garden: Spoiler On the top floor you can find the Grand Garden. There are 3 mini "gardens" and a bath connected, as well as the Navigation. The Gardens are "The Red Rock Cave" (made by smugwing), "The Cosmo Cave" (made by Tonnikala) and "The Ice Cave". Navigation: Spoiler Outside Navigation there's a small unreachable garden to view upon inbetween the missions. The Navigation itself is natured themed as well (loading in but will be fully loaded later tonight the 9th) The Balcony Bar: Spoiler Above the Grand Garden, reachable by teleport or stairs, is The Balcony Bar for those in need of a longer break. The Orokin Lab and The Oracle: Spoiler Back on the main floor, connected to Hall of Loki, you can find the Orokin Lab and the Oracle. The Lounge: Spoiler Beyond Hall of Loki you find the Lounge, sit down and relax. The Generator Controlroom: Spoiler If you take the elevator in the Lounge you end up in the basement of our dojo. There you can find a hallway of statues that leads to the Generator Controlroom. There are of course, a lot of small spaces not shown in these but these are the main ones that I wanted to show. Also! There's Ayatans hidden all over our dojo that I hid from my clanmates. We have been entasked with unearthing this facility and rediscovering the secrets that lie within. We have established a base of operations and have already uncovered and restored a lot of the Orokin structure but there is still much more to be discovered! I hope this post can draw to light some of the great findings we have discovered inside this asteroid and become a hub of learning and inspiration for all Tenno who visit this marvelous site!
