Tips For A New Rhino Player?

there;'s two ways you can play Rhino:

one is to just use Iron Skin all the time and Tank. it gets the job done, but it's selfish and people might hate you for it.

two is to mod for Duration and Range to make a support Rhino; long lasting Roar buffs, and wide, effective stomps to keep crowds in check. your own durability will take a hit without that spammable, strong Iron Skin, but it's sometimes fun to help the team.

once his rework comes out for us though, strength and Range will likely be one of the best setups.

Rhino is very dependable for Solo work, but he can be a team player too.

So as mentioned above, you can either:

Fight for yourself (option one, the Powerhouse); or

Fight as a team (option two, the Support).

--Now, if you're doing Solo play, the obvious choice is to be the Powerhouse as you have no one to support you.

--If you're fighting with a team, especially in those longer, higher tier missions, you're gonna wanna go Support as Rhino's damage on his Rhino Stomp falls off rather quickly, and is really only useful as a utility to Crowd Control while you buff your allies with Roar to get the job done while the enemy are in that Rhino Stasis. As mentioned above, your durability, or survivability will take a hit, because of that loss of strength on Iron Skin, but if you're with a team, that shouldn't matter so much.

Is there a way to buff the slam damage, or greatly increase the iron skin hp?

You can build a decent do all build later in the game once have enough mods maxed and enough forma vitality, redirection, flow prime, continuity prime, blind rage, intensify, constitution, and last can be your augment mod or I prefer streamline or vigor and top it off with a corosive projection aura and you got a tuff support tank with 53 seconds of 2x damage for the team oh sorry also last available slot could be a stretch too if you like didn't think about that ;)

Yes power strength increases iron skin hp also on update armor will as well

And I stay away from fleeting expertise and transit fortitude as they hurt roar too negatively for me

Be a party player, spam Roar to buff everyone's damage and Stomp to help the fallen.

Too many people think Rhino is a one dimensional 'Hulk Smash', but I've seen him used to perfection in some tough event missions.

He can be the rock that holds a party together when enemy levels and armor start to sky rocket, so think about your style of play and mod accordingly.

Or you can play 1 more role now.

The Übermensch CC.

Build for maxed range, a sprinkling of damage and get sufficient duration.

Enjoy watching enemies suspended in the air at 58.8m for 8 seconds.

Or a 46m build that has 14 seconds of "air time" too.

And it is 100% spammable. :)

The slam damage? Rhino Stomp?

The damage on Rhino Charge, the health of Iron Skin, the % of buff and the damage on Rhino Stomp are all increased by Strength mods.

Here's a basic rundown of Rhino and what'll affect his abilities.

This video is an old one, where we used to have to upgrade

For a more advanced rundown, here's another video.

Just so this video doesn't go unnoticed...

These videos are a little outdated because they had the old mod system where you needed to equip Abilities in order to use them, but you should get the jist of what you need.

Focus mod is the Intensify mod. It went through a name change when the whole Focus concept was thought up.

General tips?

Vitality, Steel Fiber, and Armored Agility.  Those three mods are your "bread and butter" I'd have to say.  Some people go for Redirection, but with 700 armor (at level 30 with max Steel Fiber and Armored Agility) you will get more bang for your buck then with Redirection, and last but not least Iron Shrapnel as this mod will allow you to toggle off your Iron skin early rather then risking going down when you have 5-10% left.

A good mod to accompany this is life-strike on your melee as it gives you a way to regen your health.

As far as a good general build?  Shoot for as much power strength while maintaining as close to neutral Duration and and neutral Range.  This allows you to use your stomp and have a bit of hang-time with the stasis.  5 seconds is usually good enough.  It allows Roar to be usable, 15-20 second's is good for a general build and Charge?  That's useful CC but not something we focus on really.

Outside of General Build tips?

-Don't let Iron Skin become a crutch, and know your limits.

-If someone needs reviving and is in the middle of a crowd: Iron Shrapnel helps in this because you can run in, toggle off, toggle on quickly.  The enemies nearby will be CC'd a little and you will have more then enough time especially if they start firing at you within the first 3 seconds.  It's cheaper then using stomp, though Stomp 'does' help and you can still toggle Iron skin on/off to refresh so you can ensure [hopefully] that you can pick them up.

-Have fun.  <---Most important

This is a game, and you are meant to have fun in it.  Hope you enjoy rhino :D.
