The Pacifist Defect-Pros&Cons

Recommended Posts

The Pacifist Defect has arrived on Xbox One and I honestly really like it. But at the same time, it has many flaws which I don't really like. These are pros and cons I thought of.

Pros

  • I can easily get nano spores from fallen enemies. I was really poor in nano spores before the event started (Had only 300) until I played it. I could only rescue 6 hostages and get over 3000 which is really convenient when it comes to crafting weapons/sentinels.
  • Oberon parts can be easily farmed from the first part of the event. I like to think as Oberon as the male version of Trinity considering the fact that like her, he heals himself and allies, while at the same time destroys, which is honestly something we all need in our team/solo missions.
  • The difficulty is fairly marked for the event, It isn't to easy while at the same time it's not.
  • The hostages have their own weapons which is pretty convenient because, in normal rescue missions, you have to lend hostages yours.
  • There is a way for Hostages to heal themselves. This is convenient because you won't have to stop every 3 seconds to revive them when they fall.
  • The energy supply is almost infinite. This is good because you'll need it in order to help the hostages and keep them alive.
  • After 6 hostages, there are many more hostages you can save in order to speed up the process.

Like I said before this may have a lot of pros, but many cons to this event exist as well which makes the experience slightly annoying, hard, or just plain boring.

Cons

  • It gets harder at an abnormal speed. In my opinion, the enemies are not the problem, it's the hostages. I am a solo player who mostly plays with a Max Rank Volt which is really powerful and I'm also forced to be a solo player because I don't have Xbox Gold. The hostages come from both points to fast and I'd have to save like 6 different hostages. After that, it's not really a matter of strength, it's a matter of speed, which shouldn't be hard for a Volt Warframe, right? Yeah...no. The game moves too fast!
  • The hostages are so slow, making them vulnerable to attack from enemies. I shouldn't be expecting them to move at the speed of a warframe, but I feel as if they aren't even running. They need to run like their life is in danger (Which it is).
  • At first, it said I only needed to save 10 hostages in order to move on, but it increased for some reason and now I have to spend more time.
  • It gets so boring. You're are literally doing the same thing over and over again, and it makes Warframe boring.
  • The game lags mostly whenever I use my first ability on multiple enemies (Shock- Volt).

I have more I was going to say, but I will update it whenever I get the chance.

You are not forced to play solo, unless you have some bad internet.

But other than that You are right about everything else. I mean these guys are slow and the small clan researches do nothing to speed them up. I mean buffed damages and health or very unnoticeable speed boost from these is no.

No, he really is ._.

We ps4 users can play online without ps+ if the game is free (or some case like journey that somehow lets you play online for free).

Xbox1 tho, they need xbox gold to play online pass just using the chat tabs

Well on Xbox One I can chat with other people but everytime I try to play with someone it says I can't due to me not having Gold.

additional pros:

- it's also raining mutagen there, literally, a single run of around 100 Rescues can net you at least 50 Samples, and that's without a resource booster. clans will find it much easier to research the Hema if they take part in this event

- we get a bit more Sargas Ruk, who hasn't seen much action since the Gradivus Dilemma. we should also remember that he will likely try to get revenge for this, as he says "I won't forget this, Tenno!". possible teaser to another event where Sargas retaliates? I look forward to it!

- our feedback of this event will hopefully help evolve the Evacuation mode and improve it ready for it's full introduction in the game: the could also be new variations where we escort Corpus Defectors who want to join the Perrin sequence for example, and it would take place on an infested Corpus ship.

additional cons:

- it can get boring after a while, especially on REALLY long runs.

- can be difficult if not with a decent team; running pub games is a bad idea and should only be a last resort for when you are a few points off the requirement. there's no communication, and you risk getting matched with low-skilled and/or less well-equipped players. (though these are risks prevalent in ALL pub games).

- depending on your clan, you may find yourself dependant on waiting for tem to get online, and if they are working or are otherwise occupied, it can have an effect on your performance. Clans with mostly casual players may have to wait until the weekend, just before the event ends, in order to get decent runs in when everyone is available. events that take place during the week are a blow to the time-constrained.
