Defection Missions. Why?

uhh.... I like this game mode?

*dives for cover*  :clem:

While playing with others makes the mission progress faster, I am doing a pretty good job playing solo with Nezha. I don't need no Trinity or Oberon while Nezha can protect (3rd ability augment) and heal (2nd ability). I got Harrow system on 4th try, now I'm farming for the anti-Corrupt mods. Only missing the pistol one. I am yet to be tired of this mission mode.

This mode doesn't bore me like Defense, which I consider a prison, a room that will always look the same which I cannot exit nor require any real thinking (my brain goes in sleep mode) other than being a human turret for noticeable lengthy periods to reach the next rotations.
In Defection, because I'm constantly on the move going from A to B to C to B to A, etc, the rotation and time progression is not as noticeable because my brain is constantly active keeping those Kavors alive. A stimulated brain is a non-bored brain.

On the bright side... if you bring 3 trin into the run it at least makes it semi tolerable.... but only slightly....  like 2%.

I found bringing Oberon and his plants with me made the atmosphere a little bit more relax and made the map more interesting. He does a pretty good job at healing and ccing stuff too. A jack of all trades.

And I tried again today... Still no signs of the damn Systems. Really my luck must be super super bad. I ran atleast 30 kuva spy missions, nothing. I must be doing something wrong.

Nope, you're doing nothing wrong. It took me about 45 runs on spy to get the part, got lucky on fissures and got it on the first try, but I've done about 5 hours on this stupid mission type only to get jack s***. I saw somewhere that the drop rate is supposed to be somewhere around 10% on defection, but in practice I'd say it's closer to about 3%. I have to note that playing Trin with parties and speed running the groups as we're just not caring about the towers to heal STILL hasn't netted me the part after 5 hours of play. Ether something behind the scenes is wrong or the drop rate is just so abysmally low and mixed with terrible rng that Hell will apparently freeze over before you get it.

Also DE, can you do something about the slow and stupid one in the group that apparently can't follow orders? That guy I want to just kill myself.

this....but yeah..... after more than 15 hours of farming....after so many C rotation "rewards".....i do not believe it drops there...

I'm seriously considering buying the new warframe for platinum since you have to drop the part needed in rotation C with 11% chance...
This game mode is so bad I dont' even understand how it got past playtesting

No. Don't do that. By platting out, you're basically saying "I approve of this decision and wish to reward it with money".

EDIT: and in my view, the correct response to things like this which you hate is to reject them entirely, such as the hema or how I see things which use alertium. I don't have the hema, I'm not farming for it and neither is anyone else in my clan. Alertium is the game saying "I demand you organise your life around me in order to make any progress" - which is pretty much the definition of "F*** you, playerbase" and is utterly unacceptable for something which is supposed to be done for fun.

That said, 11% is a pretty decent drop rate for a mission which you can enter at any time without need for keys or other such bullS#&$ (eg. rathuum and its ilk). The problem here is that not only is the mission itself crap (escort quests are one of the most reviled things in all of gaming), but that many of the current players will be sick to death of this particular mission due to the horribly bad design of the event in which it was introduced.

There u go bois. 24 squad rescue for one nitain

... please tell me you're joking. Like, seriously. I've yet to roll a nitain on the mission, but that would be the greatest insult to it.

EDIT:

Implying I've ever spent money to get platinum, but I definitely get what you are saying and I've really got the suspect that they are making the game more and more grindy just to push people into buying plat.

Dont buy it, unless you have NOT played the harrow quest.
U dont get riven for buying it after the quest. I dont know what strategy this is but, it is there

That's just abuse at that point. Also, going for that many rounds? It's literally easier and faster to cut it short and reup than marathon that many for really no rewards. You'll have the same chances at half that amount as you do at 3x that amount..... and thus the problem with it. Maybe if it ran and upped the chances to the point of certainty, then maybe this would be defensible. At the current state however, this is just stupid.

This right here..... this is just an unabashed money grab. In all honesty, EVERYONE should have received a MELEE riven after the quest in the same fashion that we got a riven when they rolled them out. Not a hard concept here. "Hey guys, we now have melee rivens in the game and here's the Harrow quest. Here's your complementary starter loot to have as a celebration prize for the event."

Wait, did I miss something? I've done the Harrow quest for the blueprints but I didn't get any Riven mod (not that I care too much actually).

Had you bought Harrow before doing the quest, instead of getting the main blueprint, you would receive a melee riven.

Honestly, I don't want any more rivens. People who complain about not getting them are actually lucky not having to deal with all the hassle involved.
Getting a riven is one thing, but unveiling it for a weapon you actually like/use is another. If it's an unpopular weak weapon, you won't be able to sell it, let alone give it away for free.

I absolutely hate this mode with a passion. I had enough of it during the event. It's the worst one in the game. I'd rather do Archwing Defense.

Doesn't help when my teammates won't let the npcs heal or force extract before rotation C.

I've got a better addition to that too. Given that they're on relatively low mission level areas too, not bringing the correct frames or weapons for the mission as well. At best, I'd say I see another Trin about 1 in 15 games. Weapons that can actually deal with crowds? Maybe 1 in 20.

Making the rewards based on single Kavor would be much better than "squads" there's now. If one stays behind, it just skips the whole squad so you end up doing one more for the C rotation = more time spent in this dreaded game mode which is already super long as is. Hell, atleast buff the speed on those guys so it takes less time...

When you have to spend 30-40 min in a mission to get a Nitain, that's some serious bullsh*t.

^^ This.

I am bored to tears in defense missions, and though to a lesser extent, excavation missions as well. I actually find the defection missions fun, like really fun, and had a great time playing them when "The Pacifism Defect" was live, and even now after farming Harrow. I like how it requires more coordination with your team then a regular mission, even if it's a shorter run, and how it requires slightly more thinking then brain dead defense missions. Last thing is that I like it because it's not static, sure you are running the same path over and over, but it's not just standing in the frost bubble around the defense target, or excavation drill waiting for the timer to run out.

Just my thoughts :P

I'm doing 8 rescues and leave... and doing it again... it's pointless to go another rotations... it's harder, tougher, and meaningless. One rotation C and leave and redoing is the fastest way IMO. Those defection missions are to boring to go more than one rotation.

oh my god. this mission is seriously cancerous. infuriatingly cancerous. and ive had been infuriated whilst going through cancer so i can say that. and i'd rather have cancer and be infuriated AGAIN. than do another god damn defection mission. ugh. just terribly horrendous, tedious busy work even moreso than any other mission. There's no constructive feedback that could salvage this mission. Just toss it in the trash. Be done with it. Whoever created this mission type. with all due respect. I think you should be demoted. What a catastrophically dumb decision. I'm throwing my name in the hat of people who are AGAINST this mission type in the hope it goes away forever.

Yes! I got it! Finally! Defection missions NO MORE! After hours and hours doing this rescues I finally got the Harrow's Systems! NEVER AGAIN!

/edit

LOL even farming Nidus was better than this.

I don't mind the mission difficult, but it was tedious when it was introduced, and it hasn't really changed at all now. I will absolutely never touch it again after I get the harrow part, which is a decision largely ENFORCED by the fact that my exposure to it is going to be having to tediously do the same thing over and over to GET that part.

It's also kind of incredible that even when they add new missions like this with newly decided drop tables, they STILL end up shoving such mediocre rewards into C rotations. Did a 16 squad run earlier and all four C rotations paid out.... a 2500 credit cache. I know I've seen 240 endo from it sometimes, too.
