  1. I agree with your entire post except this part: I've found that dueling Dax soldiers without any decrees is actually very well-balanced. The blocking mechanic feels like trying to pull my arms off old flypaper, but it's effective when it actually happens. Heavy attacks need more reach (the Azothane in general needs more reach) but their risk reward system works pretty well. Reckless play gets you punished but staggerlocking isn't inescapable, your abilities all work great with cooldown to prevent spam, your gun can whittle down enemies without being overpowered and rewards headshots... Honestly I wish decrees were restricted to Circuit mode (I loathe Steel Path and decrees are the only thing keeping it tolerable) because Drifter combat is pretty good when you aren't spamming all the +damage decrees to kill enemies in one hit
  2. It is said the Roman soldier used his sword once a year to kill the enemy, and his shovel once a day to build the empire
  3. His placeholder name in the devstreams was "[PH] Paci-fist" so your argument doesn't really have much of a leg to stand on
  4. His power set is pacifist. The devs can't actually take away the player's guns though
  5. Before we can answer this, we need to know what kind of content you want. In general, there are three categories of missions in the game right now: go do a thing (Spy, Capture, Sabotage, Rescue), defend a thing (Defense, Mobile Defense, Hijack, Excavation, Disruption), and kill a lot of things (Exterminate, Survival, Sanctuary Onslaught). I could see a fourth category being added for stand around capturing a thing (Void Flood, Interception, Infested Salvage). I exclude Assassinate because those are more like boss fights My point is, do you want to expand on these categories, or try introducing a new one? And remember, the more complicated a game mode is, the more playtesters will tempt you to simplify it again On a more personal note I can't agree that Disruption is fun because key carriers spawn WAY too slowly. The gameplay loop of tracking down the demolysts is fun, but there's too much pointless waiting between those moments
  6. Void traces are d25+5, for a minimum of 6 and a maximum of 30. This is effected by resource boosters, both the "standard booster" (earned in sorties, login rewards, or bought with plat) and the "event booster" (the one that's active right now at time of writing), so it's theoretically possible to get 120 per mission if you buy a booster right now and crack a bunch of relics But why as low as 6? Because DE, they want you to grind
  7. If Conclave skins become IMPOSSIBLE to earn through Conclave, there's a judgement call on whether you should earn them to PvE. There are some things that should not be. I'm trying to think of the best equivalent... In Smash Ultimate, lots of things can be earned in both PvP and PvE. Character unlocks, coins, Spirits and equipment. But exactly one thing that must be earned in PvP, the Elite Smash banner which denotes the top 20% or so of players in the world. That's the logic I deem fair I wouldn't support moving the Celestia Syandana's flame challenges to PvE, but I would support creating a very similar syandana for Steel Path
  8. The fanbase has made it very clear, by way of replies to threads like these, VERY few people actually want Stalker PvP mode. The large majority of people will either abort the mission the second a player-controlled Stalker tries to invade them, or just opt out of the mode entirely Why would we play as the enemy? Come back with this complaint like two quests in the future, it might make sense, but definitely not now Oh get off your oh-so-high-and-mighty attitude
  9. Don't forget when they tried to remake Rocket League. Not that it's easy to remember Lunaro was ever a thing
  10. As someone who did figure it out, there wasn't that much to figure out. "Don't use the two hitscan guns, they suck." "Max out your ship's HP as soon as possible." And "Once you get Particle Ram and double-tap sprint boost you're basically gold." And leaving the balance aside, new Railjack isn't even all that different, it's just better presentation
  11. I don't like involving Warframes in versus battles. There inevitably comes a point where the question switches from "can a Tenno kill something?" to "how much of a Tenno's arsenal and what level of questionably-canon gameplay shenanigans does the Tenno need to abuse to kill something?" It's not IF we win, but WHEN What mods do we get to use? Arcanes? How many Focus Schools? Are Archwings and Necramechs allowed? Does the Railjack get involved? How much of the gear wheel is fair game? How does shield-gating work in this versus battle? Going by the gameplay rules it makes us literally invincible against a megaton nuke, after which we can be killed by a couple bullets to the face. Are glitches and exploits canon? What about the laws of thermodynamics where the game would otherwise turn us to a perpetual motion machine? What "level" is our opponent, how do we calculate armor?
  12. Going strictly by the lore, Revenant wasn't turned into a Sentient and/or an Eidolon. He just died: Nakak poetically describes Warden/Revenant as being dragged to the underworld. Terry then carved Warden's/Revenant's corpse into a "mask" Now let's look at things from a broader thematic perspective: Why does Revenant have Eidolon Vampire Folklore powers? And why are those not contradictory? Because the devs say so. Their universe, because that's how writing works. It really is just that simple
  13. Ok now you just typing out nonsense. "He was turned into a Sentient" no you're just coping to justify your hatred of vampires. (And I checked the quest transcript to make sure)
  14. Leaving aside the folklore Dracula and Revenant are based on (wherein yes, basically every undead used to automatically be a vampire) my real point is you're looking at the wrong term. When you ask "where is my Eidolon frame?" DE responds "what are you talking about? The undead sentient vampire that enslaves things with ghostly energy and drinks the life force out of people is called Revenant" What you have really wanted for the last four years, is "where is my TERRALYST frame?" You have to understand, in the official style guide "Eidolon" is a broad category (undead Sentients with vampire theming) and "Eidolon Terralyst" is not one thing, it is two things (a Terralyst that is also an Eidolon). The official designation of Undead Lotus during the New War, is "EIDOLON Lotus" This is why you've just been shouting at a forum made of brick walls for five years
  15. Ok if you're using Mesa Waltz I agree that's really boring. Using stock Mesa, you have to alternate between moving and shooting, and that's where the fun comes in. Gauging risk; when you're attacking you're really deadly, and when you're moving you are moving quickly, all the fun Tenno stuff
  16. I do get your overall point (how your build is randomized from the start instead of developing through drops) but Sevagoth and Mesa are both really powerful in Circuit, I dunno why you lumped them in with Caliban. If you're accusing them of being boring, I would disagree there too
  17. Ok so I had you backwards this whole time. You do know what a Vampire is, it's the other part you were confused on So, a lot of this wasn't in the lore yet when Terry was first released, but it was when Revenant was released, so let me walk you through it: Eidolons are undead Sentients. They feed on the flesh of other Sentients, and also enslave them to their will. They rise from the mud every evening before retreating from the sun in the morning. Stagnant waters and swamps are infected by their poisonous touch, but they steer clear from the ocean even though what they really want is plonked smack dab in the middle of it. They keep their rotting bodies stable by slathering themselves in the mud and debris of their gravesites. Their most powerful thrall, Revenant, hates their guts and was only enslaved after he made the mistake of inviting them in after a moment of arrogance. And as established, Revenant's powers are hypnotism and transforming into a poisonous fog Dracula is an an undead vampire. He feeds on the flesh of humans while also enslaving them to his will. He rises from his grave every evening before retreating from the sun in the morning. The swamps and stagnant waters around his castle are infested with his evil magic and will-o'-the-wisp, but he cannot cross the ocean waters unassisted even though what he really wants is on the other side. Even when he gets to England he must keep his vampire body stable by slathering himself in Transylvania soil. His most powerful thrall, Renfield, hates his guts and was only enslaved after a moment of weakness. Dracula's powers are hypnotism and turning into a poisonous fog. You had your Eidolon frame all along
  18. I'm going to say it again, this is just a self-report you don't know how the original Dracula operated. For that matter, how the Sentients work either. But that's a MUCH longer discussion, let me know if you want to get into that. For the moment I want to focus on Do you know what "berserker" means? It just means "elite Viking warrior." Literal translation is "bear shirt" which was a badge of honor in Scandanavia, believed to give you immunity to steel and fire -- hey, that sounds like Valkyr's invincibility. Someone else had to point the others out to me. Paralysis is literally hitting enemies with your shield, a Viking martial art. Rip line has nothing to do with cats but everything to do with vikings. War Cry, hard to get more Viking than that Then you look at her cosmetics and there's not much Viking there, it's all cats. One of her helmets is even named "Bastet", an Egyptian cat goddess. Everything you hate about Revenant (most of which I'd argue isn't even real on Revenant, let me know if you want to talk about that) is already on Valkyr
  19. "Campy" might have been the wrong word, but I was thinking he was on the right track because... well, I was thinking of this quote: "They don't know what they want, they only know what they don't want." I would like to start with Revenant... which will be hard, because I have LONG since lost track of your train of thought regarding him. As best I can tell you don't think the vampire power set should be on the eidolon-skinned frame, in which case all I can say is: Hi Valkyr! How's everyone's favorite Viking-trapped-in-the-body-of-a-cat today? Your exalted claws are losing ground to the power creep? Yeah I know that feel So if we move onto Voruna, your thesis statement boils down to "I want a werewolf frame" [DE releases Voruna] "No I said a WEREWOLF frame!" The least you could do is define your terms (and in your OP rather than the replies), rather than vaguely gesturing to some general feelings of personal disappointment and an implied accusation that DE didn't live up to the one-word description they gave out two years ago. The idea that Voruna isn't a werewolf makes about as much sense as the idea Hydroid and Sevagoth aren't pirates, which would be very easy to make if I was in that mindset. "Where's my pirate frame? All we have is this vaguely pirate-themed frame who controls water more than pirate powers!"
  20. Anyone who doesn't think Revenant is a vampire is just self-reporting they don't know how Dracula worked
  21. Would you mind sharing some builds? I haven't found a single 4+ forma assault rifle build that even comes close (as in "close enough for PerAtt to make up the difference") to a basic zero forma Nataruk. Or if the Nataruk is unfair, a 2 forma Euphona Prime
  22. In a vacuum that sounds good, but in my experience assault rifles are SO far below the curve, that PerAtt still doesn't help (merely brings them from "terrible" to "acceptable")
  23. Other than the five seconds walk to the back of your Orbiter, I argue the opposite is true. Four sniper rifles or four assault rifles is a unique experience I wouldn't get otherwise; if players had a choice it would all be Arca Plasmor and Kuva Bramma over and over again
