DE PLEASE MAKE CINEMATIC TRAILERS FOR NEW FRAMES INSTEAD OF AN ABILITIES INTRODUCTION VIDEO!

Like the title said, I hope DE would put effort into making cinematic trailers for new frame updates instead the normal frame introduction video we have. Firstly, we could already see a frame abilities in game when the update drop and before that in Devstream so having an abilities introduction video is unnecessary.

Secondly, having cinematic trailer with new lore is exactly what we need to make the frame stand out and help driven and connect stories in the game (my opinion). Beside, many newly release frames are incredibly hard to remember unless they are part of the meta or they are very new, like how many times do you see Baruuk pops up in a conversation compare to Umbra? I like the old prime trailers more than the new atlas prime trailer because there are more lore in the old ones narrated by Ballas (not a lot of lore pieces but just a little bit more would make the universe more alive than just a typical loot shooter game).

Third, warframe has more lore could open up opportunities for more quests, expansions or

Examples are Gara lore (not going to put it in here due to spoiler) make her unique and open up lot of potential for Cetus lore expansion about the Unum, The Tower, Sentient's abilities to infect water with energy draining capabilities (maybe in a Nightwave or operation ?); Excalibur prime being the first warframe to be created; Rhino prime used to take part in Cannibalism before the Tenno were used to control warframes; Ash Prime were so good at killing he took out an entire base of sentients before the Orokin soldiers in his group could even catch up. If you compare those examples to the newer frames who were release (not going to use normal frames here as maybe they would expand the lore when those new frames get their prime) like Atlas prime, you would see that Atlas' lore is very hard to find (because it doesn't exist).

These are all my personal opinions and feel free to disagree with or tell me your opinions.

Abilities intro barely takes any work to put together. Script practically writes itself, get [DE]Reb in front of a mic, record some in-game footage.

Cinematics takes a significant amount of work in animation alone, nevermind that the rest is more polished as well. There's a gigantic gap in the workload increase you're asking for.

As someone who is working in the CGI industry since 2001, I can tell you how incredibly time-consuming a properly done CG Clip or trailer is.

That´s not an "out of the box" thing. Every little effect, from dust to fire, explosions, smoke, water etc.etc. has to be setup manually, tested and tweaked for days or weeks, until you get a single, little scene done. And I´m not even starting with motion capturing incl. actors for the warframe animations etc.

We once spent 6 months on a 15 second sequence for a 45 second teaser.

Don´t underestimate the amount of work and the production process of Quality CGI. We are all spoiled by those fancy Blizzard trailers, and would expect a similar quality. But the costs for that goes into the millions $. Not to mention the whole CG team would waste all that time that could and should got into the development of the game itself.

And then there´s a huge difference between game development and movie production. Special FX artists are usually very specialised people and they cost a lot of money to hire. They would also be of little use for the company when it comes to the ingame effect development, as those are totally different tools.

The alternative would be sequences in game engine optics, but who would appreciate that?

No new frames have ever received a cinematic trailer, only the Primes, why would you want to start that now when DE have struggled to even bring us the Prime trailers for the past... wait... Hydroid Prime was released in August 2017?! It's been two whole years since they failed to do any Prime Trailers at all?

The heck...

So no, DE haven't even done a Prime Trailer in 2 years. Why would they add to that back-log of stuff by trying to make them for regular frames as well?

Could you create a Garuda video for me? Lmao

But seriously when I first saw Garuda it made me visualize a scenario where the video shows a corpus lab with an alarm going off with guys saying “she’s here!!!” All thinking it is Valkyr coming to get her revenge so they activate a sort of ability dampener so Valkyr could not use hysteria on them. But then they hear claws scrapping against a wall and when they turned one is like “wait, that’s not Valkyr!!!” and all we see is a shadow and bloody claw marks splashing across the walls as the video comes to a close.

But I do understand that making such a video would take a good bit of time. If making 3-5 minutes videos were so easy then we should be getting a lot more shows and movies done in a much shorter time. Plus it is not like DE gets paid to make videos. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I'd rather they used that time to make actual content instead of wasting it on pointless trailers. The ability trailers get the job done. I'm here to play a video game, not watch a movie, and 3+ months of work for a 2 minute trailer is not worth it.

Why would they go from saying they aren't gonna do cinematic trailers for prime frames because it's too much work and delays other stuff to making them for every frame?

I agree that they should spend time on actual contents so how about just normal gameplay trailers we have but bring back Ballas narration for more lore instead of Lotus just telling us what the abilities are ?

That's still gonna make their production time take longer cause Ballas is a professional VA. One of the reason the Hydroid Prime trailer has taken so long is because they haven't been able to reliably have him around to do the VO work. Why extend the production time when they can just use the character with an in-house voice that's always done the regular frame intro's?
