Is Octavia the New Master Race?

Nah.  People are just going through the honeymoon phase.  She's really good.  But she's not broken.  Nor the best.  Generalist frames like her are always nice but will never replace specialists.  Especially in this game.  Remember nidus?  people thought the same thing.  and that "there isn't another frame I need to use anymore."  But he died down.  Just like she will.  Really this happens with most frames that DE makes or reworks.  Say what you want about DE.  They might not be perfect.  And they do make a lot of questionable choices.  But they haven't really screwed up majorly with a frame in a long time.  Hell limbo's rework was probably their finest tweak/rework they've ever done.

For most people octavia will die down in a month or so.  Since people will get tired of "effort" in trying to keep up the rythm with their song and go back to something that doesn't require effort.  Like radial disarm loki.

Honestly, she's okay at best. Any octavias I see in squads do alright, but nothing to brag about. She's a better built oberon, with cc and utility buffs instead of going damage/healing. She looks like a drunken night between a nutcracker and a chicken, so it's a damn good thing she goes invisible. Her abilities are wonky, a good kind of slapdash. This thread seems more about trying to prove she's top tier, which, eh, but I digress.

Master of none? She can stay invisible longer than Loki and it is recastable, Buff Damage in Mirage Eclipse levels with a longer range ( you have to hug mirage to get the buff), her 4th damage scales with enemy damage in a ridiculous range.

Pretty much sums it up. Automode/Autopilot, doesn't feel like doing anything, boring.

Some of the strongest buffs in the entire game. Just press 2 buttons once in a while. Even timing for buffs can just be macro'ed if it's too much effort.

The laziest, least input WF ever created.

Octavia is new, fresh interesting, fun and powerful warframe, and all of you yammering, nagging crybabies of the forums are starting to get on my nerves. How many cool toys have you ruined by now? I like octavia as it allow me to go aggressive or playing passively. One thing i want mandachord to be able to produce long notes by combining note or shorten it. And please DE implement mansachord creator and player on warframe app.

Talking about running out of "creative" idea lulz. Abilities design regressed back to vanilla 360 style. 

 

Old in-game sequencer like kdj is still better than this forced half-baked one which is even worse when combined with minmaxing mechanics.

This is why I almost always check Rio's stream first...good analysis. I almost bought her and then realised I already got Ivara and don't really want another "easy mode" frame for now. Doesn't mean she's weak, she's very strong imo. 

Don't think she's OP though...just decent at a lot of different stuff, which makes her flexible, just like Ivara.

She is out for couple of weeks and I already find her boring, even though I just completed her quest yesterday and I am not even bothered to get her parts.

 

While I don't mind her music all around and I believe when people say that she is a very good frame. There is something about her that I don't like, maybe it's that she is everywhere where I look.

As to how "meta" she is, we'll have to wait and see if the love for her remains after the next Warframe is released. Most people play the new Warframe because it's new and exciting, but sometimes (like with Atlas, Titania, etc.), they fall out of common use once the next frame comes out. Although this really speaks more to the frame's popularity, which can be based on not only power, but also design, gameplay, ease of access, etc.

I admit that in the first week of having Octavia, I wasn't that into her and saw it as a bit of chore to level her up. However, after I hit 30 with her something changed. I got better at crafting songs on the Mandachord, but I also sort of got over what I thought she should be and got in touch with what she is -- a bard-class Warframe. Bards in any kind of role-playing game can be fun and charismatic, but when it comes to combat there's only so much they can do while remaining a bard. They can buff allies, they can beguile enemies.... and that's about it. Having four autonomous abilities might make Octavia feel a little more passive for most players, and I agree. But having that kind of "sit back" attitude like some other frames have (not dissimilar Mirage or Vauban) let's me focus on other things. When playing Octavia, I like to play with positioning, new weapon configurations and, primarily, the music she's playing. I've really been enjoying tinkering with the Mandachord and crafting a groove in the Orbiter, then testing out all the parts in-mission. She might not become one of my main cluster of regularly-played Warframes, but I definitely see myself playing her a lot more in the future.

I kind of hope DE continues this trend of SCALING WARFRAMEs (aka their powers) First Nidus and now Octavia....there is a reason they are pretty good.

Since i bought Octavia (after doing the quest...Lotus forbid i do that crud called Kuva farming), I've been going for Greater than 30 minute Survivals because i know i CAN with ease....not leave at 30-40 minutes because my powers are doing crap damage and i cant keep up life support.

oh and getting kill counts ranging from 2.5k to nearly 4.5k with EASE solo, is awesome.

They weren't the first scaling frames tho. Equinox would be that.

Indeed, it is Maim. She was the first frame if i recall correctly that had abilities who were able to scale indefinitely. Even now she's better than Nidus because he has  a cap, but she does not, just like Octavia.

huh, good to know...will need to look more into her then....funny that it is the female frames that scale indefinitely :P

Octavia is great for solo and team content, but it depends on the build (like +range for team content)

The under two hours survival and constant squatting? It's low level content in my book.

Ivara holds over 8 hour solo record, so I am not impressed at all. People can go over 2 hours without even invisibility, claiming it as masterrace attribute is as lame as claiming Oberon top healer. Meh.

Well he claims he'll do a super long run with her soon, but all in saying is that she trivializes a lot of this game more than Loki does

nidus died down cus he got nerfed.

tho octavia isnt the case. her damage scales really well, her cc is decent but thats all really.
