This Planet Is Outdated

This forum thread was made in order to inform DE about recent discoveries and awful mistakes made in the Sol Map.

1. New Horizons mission. I guess everyone here have heard about this, so there's no need to mention that now we actually know how Pluto looks like.

2. Europa & Ceres. These are the mistake which are the worst. Actually we know how these little boys looks too, and if you're enough perceptive you will notice that both have recoloured textures of MARS.

-The difference is that the Europa is greyscaled and darkened Mars, while Ceres is changed bit more, recoloured, wrinkled and have a changed rotation axis in order to hide Olympus Mons and 3 other mountains well visible on Europa texture.

These planets are great! Non they not!

And the 3rd mistake. Combined to make thread shorter.

3. Phobos, Sedna, Ceres. These are asteroids. Not valid planets. And Ceres is the only spherical here.

Some of you may think ''that's a minor change, c'mon Merc'' IT'S NOT.

To make it clear for everyone, here are some links which will enlighten your knowledge about the real Sol System:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pluto

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Europa_(moon)

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ceres_(dwarf_planet)

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phobos_(moon)

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/90377_Sedna

And also, currently Pluto uses a texture of another valid moon, (which gas giant's? Not sure, need further search), and suprisingly, uses the same Tileset as Neptune (Which deserves it's own Gas Cities - it's Corpus temple!) and Venus (Which is f*ck!ng hot, not cold.)

So please, DE. Update the planet textures or promise to do so with U18.

Really couldn't care less about the "realistic" versions that you think should be in the game. Especially after the terraforming the Orokin did thousands of years in the future, as people have stated already.  As long as the environments fit Warframe's theme of awesome space ninja battle environments, screw science and reality!

Pluto is gray only on the star map.  In it's own skybox, it's brown.

Mars has become a battleground involving both Corpus and Grineer missions, featuring galleon, frigate, outpost, and desert tilesets.

DE is placing a greater emphasis towards a more accurate representation of the star system (with a sci-fi fantasy spin where feasibly appropriate) but it's obviously low in priority.

I think your right, a lot of space lovers are a little repulsed at how some planets look the way they do for now reason and that meteorites can be round. Hopefully, a lot of this changes in the sol map updateS I know its probably gonna take more than one ;)

I don't think people are understanding OP...

I believe he means that the planet models on the starchart are incorrect, and they are. Even if the Orokin had crazy terraforming skills, pretty sure Europa and Ceres wouldn't suddenly look exactly like Mars, just coloured differently. I love space, but I don't mind the tileset on the planets we play on, but the models that are shown in the Star Chart just make me cringe. I hope DE fixes this with the new Star Chart.

I got so intrigued, that I lost 2 hours reading up about Eris, Sedna and the Sol system

Wait.

Was this a devilishly clever attempt at elucidation?

Damn you Wikiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii,  and you, Merc ;)

On topic. I agree that the planets should have some semblance of originality.

In the eons between now and then we can only dream of what kind of terraforming might go on.

LOL ... good one ... we need to give more plat for appropriate reality (surroundings, content) in warframe :P

I just really want to know why people want 100% realism in this game. You do know that would mean more than half of what we have would be boiling/freezing rocks of nothing, right?

Let DE do their thing in their own fiction. It's fine, people. It's fine.
