Without Question, the WORST single mission I have EVER played.

Man I've been posting a lot on these forums recently. Mabye it's because I have so many stories to tell and so much to talk about, but I'm obviously still making story's because this happened to me yesterday.

So my clanmate xRoBoReApErx need to unlock the junction going from Uranus to Neptune. (Which is almost an innuendo.) As it just so happens, I did to, since I'd completed the Solar system well before junctions were added. So I decided to help him.

First thing we did was kill Tyl, which gave me Equinox farming flashbacks, but that was over quickly. We then saw that we needed to collect all three caches on a Uranus mission, so we booted up a sab mission.

I found a cache right off the bat. "This is gonna be easy." I though to myself. In my 4 years of playing, I have never been so wrong.

We searched everything before the first objective, which went fairly quickly since there were NO side rooms and NO rooms for caches to spawn in. Me and Reaper scratched our heads at this, but moved on, destroying a few pipes and moving on to the next part of the map. We then went 500M with no more room for caches to spawn. It was as if map generation was saying "No. Nothing here. Move along." So we went and killed a maniac bombard, and found ourselves at the extraction point. Now there was FINALLY a side door at the end that thankfully had a cache for us, but we only had 2. So we backtracked through the mission, picking apart everything we could see and find. There were two water parts (And I haven't leveled my Archwing.) That we had to swim through at length, which is torture. Earlier in the mission I went through one part and Reaper pointed out a rare mod, to which I said: "I aint backtracking for that. I don't want to enter the water again." I had to enter the water again after spending a 15 minutes making sure that the surface parts were entirely explored.

So we've been in this darn mission for around 50 minutes looking for this cache in this horribly generated map when finally I spot a really small camouflaged cave opening in the side of the submersible area we've been picking clean. I go down it a way's and it opens up into another area with a bunch of lockers in it. There, sitting on a ledge, was the cache.

Now here's the cherry on top of the S*** milkshake, because right then I was tired (It was now midnight.), we'd just gone through the tedious task of picking apart every little thing on a horribly generated map that had ton's of frustrating dead ends, and Reaper is a relatively new player so I wanted him to have the best experience possible. (This wasn't that experience.)

I floated up to the cache at 2MPH and clicked X. Nothing happened. I clicked X again. It didn't open. I SPAMMED X. Nothing.

Turns out, I had started lagging hard. To Reaper, I was just hanging out at the entrance of the submersible area, so when I yelled: "OMG I FOUND IT" He went in the opposite direction I was actually in. After a few minutes of figuring this out, I way-pointed it because apparently for some god-forsaken logic that and the chat wasn't effected by lag. (Lag in Warframe is really different compared to other games if you think about it.)

After losing the way-point once because it shut off, Reaper found his way over and opened the cache. We then GTFO'd. Only he could make it to extraction though, as the doors wouldn't open for me due to the lag. So we had to go through the last few seconds eagerly waiting for the timer to tick down so we could leave.

We then proceeded to do a fast capture mission to relieve the stress.

Silly things that came out of this while we were losing our minds:

Star Frame Episode 4: A new Tenno

Star Frame Episode 5: The Grineer Strike Back

Star Frame Episode 6: Return of the Lotus

Star Frame Episode 7: The Frames Awaken

Finding Oridis

Finding Suda, the sequel to Finding Ordis

Beauty and the Cephilon.

Lotus Purple and the 7 Clems. (14 GRATAKA!!!)

Whats the worst single mission you've ever been on?

The funniest thing is that despite the task description, you could've find just one cache and it would be marked as completed.

I dunno if that's a bug or the description is wrong, but it worked for me and every player I helped with it.

The worst single mission I had was "change of plans, kill everyone" back when exterminate missions had limited spawn numbers. After running back and forth the whole map a couple of times thanks to broken marker system I found out the last enemy was stuck under the floor and I had nothing that could damage through walls. On top of that, there was a fog modifier. It was not a sortie mission though.

Good thing I have Exalted Blade now, nothing can hide from me anymore.

REALLY?! I spent so long trying to find three caches in one mission that I almost passed out. I wish I'd known this earlier...

I don't have a single bad or intense moment, I was a heavy player in the past and am a casual now, and I don't play online due to a terrible internet.

My worst moments are when I am lagging harder than a time traveler with brain damage, can't find the last cache, get killed like a fly repeatedly, or progression stopping glitches.

My most terrible mission actually was an attempt to start a quest.

The War Within finally finished loading on my 5yo computer, and I jumped in and tried to find Teshin.

In that first mission, Teshin never loaded. I tried about 20 times until I lost hope and wiped my tears in fissures.

A few of the tac alerts came close for the specific manner of the tasks but as far as normal missions go? Lua Spy, I will never be confused for a master of stealth; but I can get the job done. Often enough, with Lua spy I welcome the crazy assassin squads as a distraction from how their layout works. I know how some are supposed to be solved and have done them often enough, but every time on at least one I find myself at odds with the reasoning behind the path I am supposed to take. Didn't help that when this hit a head, there were areas of the Lua spies that crashed lower spec or older PCs like my main system. Some events like the False Profit Bursa really annoyed me but we still did well enough considering at the time, the Bursa's stomp permanently kept you on the ground if they succeed in knocking you down during that event.

Wow that sucks bruhv, my single worst mission ever was when me and my mates did a kuva flood. One of my friends got disconnected during the siphoning part and he was host so it re connected all of us. Then this bizarre bug happened where all the Kuva Tubes were idle even though they made the "siphoning" sound. And all the Guardians went non hostile even the new ones that spawned. But the most atrocious thing of all was that when it began "Siphoning" the Kuva clouds were invisible. Yes they were invisible when they floated towards and got sucked up by the siphon. So this is where most people would just give up and just reset the mission. Not us, oh no we were gonna overcome this bullsh*t. The enemies were non hostile so we were able to do this without interference but it didnt make it any easier. The siphon was in the outdoor corpus tileset where it has the big canyon with the ziplines to some crates so we had a bunch of room. So everytime we heard the siphon noise, we dashed around the area like madmen, 5/10 times we would hit em. And we completed the kuva flood with random chance and only 2 slots before a fail, and for what you may ask? 1,120 Kuva. Yep it was bull but you know the saying. When life puts you down, pull out your boltor.

heh, if you think the Uranus Tileset is a bish for cache farming, you've obviously never tried farming for Cyclone Kraken: find 3 caches on the Kuva Fortress in one mission just for a CHANCE at it, and the Fortress is a LOT worse: dozens of nooks and crannies in even the smallest tiles make for countless possible places for a cache,  as well as constant harassment from turrets. took a friend of mine 2 HOURS on one run to find all 3, I was there. he has since sworn never to go back to the Fortress again.

This is why I don't have that mod and have stopped looking for it.

That map is awesome though...and no sharkwing.

But yeah...my girl and I found 2 caches once. Now I'm gonna have to try for 3.

Worst mission by far is defection. Never played a worse game mode design besides salvage.

Took one look at Defection on YouTube so I would know what I was getting into trying to get Harrow.

I've since decided I can live without Harrow. God is that an awful mission type. We need more missions like Assault and no more escort missions ever.

Oh yea, I use to farm that place like crazy, its one the 5/100 you will find defect room will spawn the caches, I was about tell the dev about it, then I forgot about it because I saw some crazy gun I bought online (My sweet sweet boomstick).

Yea the rat maze will spawn so generticly so random, its small % you will get funky room with the broken spot.  You have to arc wing it in the water check the caches, sometime they are hidden pretty well or glitch up in the wall...(no lilttery in the wall) sort of forgot report that while ago.

INB4 next Trial has a Defection section just like how Salvage is right from JV and copy pasted to the starchart.

Ingredients for one of the longest and most boring things in Warframe.

1. Europa

2. Excavation

3. Solo Mode

The power carriers spawn at a blistering rate of 1 every 5 minutes or so. So each Excavator, which normally takes 2-3 minutes, takes like 10 minutes+ instead. The Europa tileset itself makes the spawn issues so much worse. Getting the part for Limbo during his quest took me upwards of 4 hours. It was horrible.

Moral of the story, if you want to do Excavation missions by yourself, set it to Invite Only. Because then you don't get the broken spawns that happen if it is set to Solo.
