So .. convince me to use Ivara ..

Took me quite a while to get Ivara. I was really excited to get her, as I really like her theme, design and abilities. But .. I see myself very rarely using her, outside of just sight seeing ( I used her to explore the new Jupiter tile set ), or if I feel like playing sneaky ninja style and take 20 minutes to finish an extermination mission ..

The thing is, game is so fast paced, that it's hard to even justify using Ivara because of how slow she moves while in Prowl. And because she is so squishy, that all it takes is a higher level enemy to sneeze at her and she's dead.

Her survivability pretty much relies on staying invisible all the time, but of course doing so means slooooww movement, which, is sort of miss placed considering how fast paced the game is.

It's like when I'm using Ivara, I'm not really playing Warframe as it is, but sort of a different game.

Even for spy missions, where she's supposed to excel at, I end up almost always using Loki, simply because he does it well and way faster. As long as you know the vaults, there's really no reason to use Ivara. Which is funny in itself, because I farmed Loki before Ivara, precisely to make farming Ivara easier. Ended up knowing vaults pretty well, and now I don't really see why use Ivara for Spy missions at all LOL!

I would like to use her more. Really like her theme, design and abilities, but it's hard to justify to myself using her when there isn't really any activity that I can think of where I could say "Ivara is the right choice for this task".

So, I'm curious, players that use Ivara frequently, how do you do it, and why?

Do you go to pub groups and slowly roll your way to extraction while everyone waits? Or do you just play solo?

Is there any situation where Ivara is the right pick that you could share?

I guess what I'm asking for is ideas that convince me to use her more, because as of currently, I have a hard time justifying picking her over other frames.

Also, out of curiosity, was her movement always like this while on Prowl, or was this a nerf that happened some time ago?

Well, you can parkour while Prowling. Bullet Jumping somehow was broken a few months away but when it didn't break Prowl, Ivara was really efficient.

But the fact you can basically ignore everything in vaults with Ivara makes her worthy. With Loki you still have to take care about lasers and stuff.

Other than that, in Spies Sorties, I'm not Prowling 100% of the time, only in Vault. If you're bullet jumping correctly, nothing will kill you while heading to extraction though.

Prowl augment bypasses laser barriers, which trivializes most data vaults (and spy missions in general). One example i can think of is that one grineer vault which has moving lasers next to the data vault, which requires you to hack 1-2 additional console to disable, which you can straight out ignore with ivara. But if you've mastered the vault layout loki can be a better pick just based of the movement speed advantage. Also rescue or sortie defense is fun with invis arrow.

Eh...

You like frame - you use frame;

You don't like frame - you don't use frame.

Agreed, but the thing is, I really like her a lot. I just don't see the point of using her when trying to do things efficiently.

Amazing for solo survival or interception endless.

I assume you mean long runs, as in hours?

Not something I'm interested in doing at the moment, since I have yet lots to do on my progression. But thanks for the suggestion, maybe I will try that later down the road.

Ivara is a killing machine.  I use her in more than just spy missions.

This is the kind of feedback I was looking for. Can you elaborate?

In what situations would you say Ivara is the right pick, as opposed to other frames etc.

Ivara is slow in prowl yet has Dashwire, Invis arrows, sleep arrows etc.

Wonder if ppl forget she has an entire it that isn't just mfking prowl.

Agreed. I really like here kit. The arrows are awesome, and the artemis bow is pretty strong.

I've even used Navigator a few times just for fun.

But the problem remains, when faced with a certain task and I want to do it efficiently, there's usually always some other frame that is better for the job.

Just to be clear, I'm not saying that Ivara is the problem. It's more likely that it's just me not applying her full potential, which is why I was asking for feedback.

Sabotage, survival, you name it, Ivara can compete.  Artemis bow destroys everything, and Concentrated Arrow nukes things even further.

He said it best, one of the most diverse kits in the game.  People complain about prowl, when she is so quick and agile that you can simply run and jump past enemies without being seen as well without prowl even being on.  I only use it when I am in a life threatening situation, need to get through lasers, or setting up to kill big with Artemis

ah for that very simple. Treat it like mgs or splinter cell.

ppl act like the prowl movement speed loss is such a big deal but in all honesty they are just griping over nothing.

While sprinting and bullet jumping is out all other parkour methods including aimgliding are still fair game.

Then again it's mostly player more than anything else.

Every frame has a time and place. While some frames can do the role better for something that frame isn't designed for it's mostly up to the player to make it work or change frames for the task at hand. Part of why we have loadout slots.

Imagine using her only for spy missions 😂...I wonder what buffs we will get come December when it is time for the prime.  OP as-is, what could possibly be improved lol..

Thanks so much for the feedback so far, you guys are awesome!

I would just like to clarify what is the point of this thread, as it seams some people are taking it the wrong way.

I am in no way saying that Ivara is useless, or that I don't like her. I like her a lot, in concept she is awesome. Her kit is quite fun, and I absolutely love the huntress theme.

My only issue is that when trying to figure out what is the best frame for a task to do it as efficiently as possible, she is never my pick, because there is always some other frame that can do it better. This can of course be subjective, based on my limited experience and play style etc.

This is why I was looking for ideas on how to use her to her full potential, in ways that she will be performing better than the others.

Imo i'd love if we could double the dash wire as a net trap or noose like contraption. Maybe firing the noise arrow with enough strength that it burrows into enemies causing them to hallucinate via auditory hallucinations and turn on their allies or harm themselves :O

Navigator working on her dashwire so it can strew enemies together when that arrow is fired 😄

If you have time, use her as a change of pace. She can be fun to poke at some Sortie bosses (Raptors/Kela/Hyena packs/Ambulas) or their regular variants, but needs some getting used to and the best way to do it is just to play her a bit more - experience and understanding will come.

Well, her augments for dashwire can really really make her a good weapon specialist (Crit + headshot),

Put down a dashwire at slightly above enemy head height.

Prowl

Steal energy orbs,

Put enemies to sleep,

Headshot (needs a silenced weapon for best effectiveness)

I use sharpshooter and silenced mod with any sniper, works very well for sustaining,

Bonus with a glaive,

So she should be looked more like a stealthy DPS than a pure spy frame.

Off topic thought:,

What they should do is make her more like a reversed wisp, invisible when in contact to a surface (and using prowl) double / bullet jumping breaks prowl but becomes active on touching ground again. Just a thought I had.

just don't let me make a rework for her is all i will say 😄

If you need proof just look at my reference regarding stitching enemies up with a dashwire arrow using her navigator. 😄

She might go from queen of the hunt to god of the hunt jk

Try a concentrated arrow build with high power strength and range. This thing is insanely powerful. It's also quite the dynamic gameplay in multiplayer since you need to aim for the head to truly make everything explode.

You can also use Ivara for Eidolon. Get a Sancti Castanas and maybe a riven for it, use navigator to put the castanas on the synovia and detonate it when the shield is down. Actually, you can even use navigator to make a lot of weapon eidolon viable, some clanmate of me took down the trio by throwing the wolf sledge at them...
