I'm here to remind you that some of us like railjack and want more RJ content.

I'd honestly love a pure railjack endless survival mission with no warframe mission part(not against using the warframe in the mode, for example boarding crewships, but would want the main objective to be endless railjack content rather than endless warframe content). And I'm always keen to see what new RJ they can come up with. A free roam mode could be real cool too if done right.

I love skirmish.
The corpus missions are absolute trash. All the side objectives are horrendous time gates and it just leads into a normal mission that makes the railjack portion feel like pointless padding.

I'd really like more railjack too tho. A railjack boss fight could be really interesting. Maybe railjack spy that requires us to be in our arcwings to infiltrate asteroid bases like that section in war within. A mission that requires us to navigate a maze of wormholes like dark bramble in outer wilds could be really cool. As much as I'm sure a lot of people would hate this, a mission where we escort a transport ship could be fun. The ship being escorted could also be boarded and require repairs. Which would give a solid reason for pilot crew to exist so a solo player's railjack could continue following the escort while they're on board it dealing with borders and repairs.

There's really a lot they could do with it.

an actual sort of 'semi open world' you can traipse around in with random Objectives you can complete or ignore would be nice. a little bit of World Building comes from setups like that too.

would help if there were more Objective types to help that. since the Corpus Objective types (the on foot ones) are.... standing around waiting for a Timer. the Grineer ones are a bit better but they're really not that exciting either (the on foot ones). like, they're okay.... but they don't feel exciting to do.

and ofcourse, still waiting for bigger Enemies to fight? we got promised that but then nothing really happened. we got like, "bigger Enemy Ships" that literally aren't Ships because they just sit there doing nothing other than firing a few pew pews at us from time to time.

where's the Destroyers? Cruisers? Battleships?
Fomorians?
where's the bigger space combat.

Railjacks being able to Drift around fairly well (still just a liiiitle bit clunky and could be better) is fun Player Movement, but where's the big Enemies for us to use this with/on.

oh and more Objectives that actually involve the Railjack, ya know? other than Killing generic Enemies, that doesn't really count.
and i don't mean "the Railjack is involved because you can't complete it without pressing a Button from the Railjack". that's meh. like the Corpus Objective that you need to fire the main Gun at a few points on the non Ship..... on Paper that could be interesting but in practice it's anything but.

The original preview for Railjack definitely did feel like it might eventually evolve to 'Railjack Open World (but in space)'.

The main thing I actually wanted was to be able to fly around the existing solar system, and get into random fights outside of each planet, moon, starship, or base. There could have been smaller groups of enemies patrolling, roaming, or looking for 'stuff' relevant to what ever was going on in the narrative at that time. From there you could use the Railjack as a new navigation screen to visit missions, and land on open worlds like they showed back in the Fortuna preview, and then we could use it as a base within the open world instead of needing to go back to town.

-----

I figure the reason they will never implement Railjacks landing on open worlds is because there are 4 people in a group, but there can only be one host in a Railjack mission, which makes moving between space and the open world with different parties very tricky - does the current host of the ground party become the host of the space party when changing zones? What if someone else has a better Railjack and wants to call theirs down to pick everyone up instead? Do they become the new host? There are already lots of issues with people being disconnected from groups.

The other issue was; how would they implement the Railjack into the open world gameplay when it came planetside? Would it be usable in combat to do bombing runs, and could a person fly it around? They are very large aircraft compared to everything else, and if there were 4 of them, it would get pretty crazy. Obviously it would be limited to only the host could summon their Railjack, and some people wouldn't like that.

Next, if you look at dev videos about the Railjack design, the interior is a separate room from the exterior, which is how you can see what is going on through the windows without actually turning upside down. The interior area and exterior of a Railjack are not directly connected.

How does this system work if 4 different players can bring their own Railjack planet side, AND new players can join or leave a public party? There could be hundreds of different Railjack interior configurations which have to be loaded in and out of memory just in case someone decides to use it or not.
