You are right and maybe it is too late now to change anything but farming focus wouldn't be such a boring grind if it required only one lens which would gather focus in one pool that could be used by all schools.

There is some common sense in this because:

-First of all you don't know what you are unlocking and how schools and their abilities  work until you unlock them.It os common that we get disappointed because text describing ability sounded better than it actually works in practice.

-In focus 2.0 schools were completely changed.Lenses were removed from all warframes and weapons but if you bought lenses for one school that was the best at the time in some individual opinion and it got nerfed, again in someones individual opinion, then we have a situation that this isn't quite fair to players because they spend their resources or real money for a thing that doesn't work same way as before.Same thing applies to focus farmed for specific school.Fair thing from DE was to put all of the farmed focus in same pool and distribute it as player wish.We did farm it for,how much was it,2,3 years before the focus rework...

I don't think removing them would solve anything. But what I would like is the option to put all lens types in. And in the arsenal I can choose what lens is active in the frame or weapon. This way DE can still sell 5 lenses per item but we are not forced to destroy them to change our farm school.

Being allowed to remove Lenses wouldn't encourage Plat purchases. Idk how long you've been playing but the longer you play, the more you see of the "gentle" encouragement towards buying plat in every square inch of this game.

Actually, most of the systems in this game are designed to push Plat purchases. It's why they keep stacking grind on top of grind on top of new resources to farm...

There needs to be a way to remove focus lenses from weapons and warframes

i know you can replace them but I need to remove one so it won’t interfere with the focus I need to earn

i know even it we can remove them we still won’t get it back but I think it would still be nice

As I said when you remove that still brake you just don’t get another one in the weapon or warframe

Had this discussion with a friend and we both agree: It would be nice to have a "Destroy Lens" option on a piece of gear so that you can just get rid of an old lens without being forced to replace it with something else.

This can be a problem if you're just switching schools and don't have enough of the new schools lenses to replace all of your gear, being able to just break the old lenses would mean that you would waste far less focus.

That is why I whorls like this even if it is a item in the shop for credits (10k - 50k) I could see people buying them from time to time if they have one on a frame or weapon that like to use and done have a lens for it

you know what. I'd be fine with destroying lesser or even greater lenses but we should be able to remove the eidolon lenses like we can remove arcanes from gear. Eidolon lenses are a pretty steep investment in grind and time. If a destruction system for lenses were to be added this would be something I fell is very important.

I find the system of forcing players to grind for focus lenses that drop randomly and inconsistently, bind them on specific frames that will then only produce specific focus to be extremely hostile to new and casual players. I'm for getting rid of them all together and having a combined focus pool based on the extra affinity you earn from whatever you play.

I also have this problem I have frames and Weps which I cant use until I cap my daily focus basically because I am past any reasonable use for that school. Some are vaulted and its a significant expense to replace them and its locking me out of content for at least an hour of play time every day.

it doesnt make any sense , the lens systems should work like mods , but yeah is all about plat so we are wasting our time discussing

a trick to "delete" a lens is puting that len on a weapon u dont use that much , u only equip it to cap the daily focus and be done with it :P

Even if DE adds a Focus Distiller to the syndicates/Onkko/whatever trash area of the game, people will still be as stupid as they are using the arcane distillers xD. It's not even about the grind to get lenses or the grind to bother with focus in the first place. It's simply because DE wants us to suffer through boredom of sorties and bounties in order to get stuff we don't need. Everything is a grind in Warframe, even the credits (especially with the removal of trials, rip my 4 million reset JV runs).

The best way to alleviate the issue is for them to give us a reward from the Sortie drop table for completing each stage; similar to bounties.

I can relate, has a normal lens on a 8-forma-weapon, and its annoying to see the focus orb everytimes I use it. I already have 10 Eidolon lens, 2 for each school on Atterax and Banshee. The Lens-Destruction feature should be implemented.

Maybe the solution would be to add an npc on cetus or a relay... that is in charge of focus stuff... I've always imagined that DE made the focus lenses stuff thinking that they are delicate artifacts and if clumsy tenno such as ourselves try to remove it from a piece of equipment.. it breaks. So how about taking it to a specialist? Like the people who fix glasses and clocks and stuff..? There could be a guy on Cetus that is able to remove lenses in exchange for... maybe reputation, focus , resources and stuff... It is super possible and it makes sense.

Yeah I honestly don't see how money plays any part in why DE couldn't or wouldn't allow players to flat out remove a Lens. I have spent money on this game and not a single penny went towards a Focus Lens. The Focus stuff just doesn't interest me and the way Focus works and how little you get out of a single mission is just trash. I am not asking for 100k per mission or anything stupidly broken but if you could earn 100k or more affinity in a mission before capping a Warframe or weapon then close to half of that should be obtainable from the same mission once they were capped. Allowing players to remove instead of replace a Lens would make me more likely to spend money on a Focus Lens given the whole Focus school stuff be re worked in a better way. Plus how other RPG games work with levels and capped levels and lost exp is better then the Lens crap we have. Having No lens and just getting Focus from playing the game regularly would be less stressful and help ease the minds of newer players. And with the Schools just allow that earned Focus to go only to the School that is currently set as your Primary School. We could talk and discuss this no matter how old the forum post is and now matter what it wouldn't change anything aside from it's a real surprise they haven't decided to add a remove or destroy Focus Lens system into the game in some kind of manner. Some people would even pay to have them removed and wouldn't have a problem with that as long as it wasn't overly expensive. 5-10 plat would sound fair to remove a Lens

It'd be nice if that was possible, but if you remove it you don't get it back it gets destroyed when you dismantle it instead of it returning to your inventory. This way it requires more thinking on what warframes and weapons you want to put your lens on.
