  1. I just tested the old advice about running Jupiter interception, first wave. I just scanned one. Had zero vapos prod crewmen eximus scans before the mission. Something (died fast, so didn't see what) got scanned during mission. Now I have one scan.
  2. I haven't really cared for NW since they dropped the lore bits from it, and only do the minimum chores necessary to get the rewards. The changes wouldn't affect me either way, but: 1) The "permanent" acts were *clearly* promised as "additional". Multiple times. 2) The acts being additional was even given as the explanation for why they were exempt from recovery. 3) If they are no longer additional, their effect is simply to remove 3 acts each week from the recovery pool. A clear downgrade. 4) If they are suddenly recoverable then we're just back to where we started. What is this nonsense? (other than sufficient reason for me to hold off spending any more money for a year or so while I observe the direction this game is going)
  3. They have Whispers, a live operation in Gargoyle's Cry, cross save, and cross trade turning on this month. With ongoing/rolling account merging/linking/transfers over some unspecified period (I've heard comments that is supposed to mean this month, not going into 2024, but can't find the source of that information so not sure if that's true). Right before they go on their break. Some poor sod at DE is probably going to have a terrible Christmas.
  4. They're obviously releasing it the day before TGA, duh.
  5. For companion orb generation, I typically prefer: Dethcube with Energy Generator and Synth Deconstruct and a gas Verglas or maybe a Helstrum to tag enemies. Panzer Vulpaphyla with Synth Deconstruct. Kind of depends on the frame you play too. If you have a clustering ability, clumping enemies for your sentinel to tag is fairly easy.
  6. I'm not sure then. Here's a run with Trin using abating link for armour strip, and a magnetic K. Nukor modded for viral and heat and with the secondary encumber arcane. He melts the moment he takes his collar off. Maybe it works for different reasons to what I believe. I guess It's possible I'm coincidentally doing something that works but giving the wrong explanation. [edit] Just in case, I did another run to see if (a) the damage was from link or (b) Xata's Whisper (which I had on without thinking about it). Not a lot of damage was done while just standing around with link, and he still melted without Xata's Whisper.
  7. Doesn't he just have a really short vulnerability window to get your damage in, rather than damage attenuation? I think you have two ways to go about it: Stack up dot procs on him before the collar comes off so he takes damage as soon as the collar comes off. Pick something that can dish out high single target damage fast when he's vulnerable. Here's Kullervo (not saying this is best or anything): Note, I used Unairu which made him appear vulnerable for a little while even when he wasn't. Video quality will probably improve once youtube has finished processing it.
  8. Brings to mind early speculation (by players) that frames were operated by energy beings :-P. The word "transference" does suggest the Tenno aren't merely remote piloting an armoured drone, but are actually inserting the core of their being (mind/soul?) into the frame and so are present where the frame is in any sense that matters. In which case, not only is it reasonable to refer to each frame as a suit, but also the original physical child body.
  9. @SneakyErvin That's roughly my take on it too. By the end of the "operator report" the author has figured out the Tenno's void connection and it's probable they also know how they use Warframes. Half way through is a report on the discovery of Lua. However, earlier entries contain speculation about the Lotus, Stalker, and the end of The Old War. In other words the author is not omniscient, wasn't around (or at least, not paying any attention) when the Orokin fell, and while they knew the Tenno were connected to warframes, it's plausible the exact nature of that connection was unknown to them. Especially given they are (apparently) going off patchy old records regarding past events and can only observe current events from a distance. They certainly were/are not leaders of a faction privy to every Orokin (and Tenno) secret (just some of Albert Entrati's).
  10. I didn't think the niggle was about whether warframes *have* armour (if it is, it's even sillier than I thought). They do, it protects their internals whether or not those are people. The question is whether they should be referred to as "suits of armour". That is, worn by and protecting a person.
  11. Agree that it shouldn't auto-dismount you. This should go in the feedback (or maybe even bugs) sub-forum though.
  12. It is complete and utter nonsense to compare fan-theory-crafting about a *work of fiction* to science. Warframe is a work of fiction. We can't investigate or probe most of the Warframe universe without prodding DE into releasing more details. It doesn't exist outside of someone's head. By your logic, you can just as easily argue that it's only sensible to believe the only npcs that exist in the Warframe universe are the 20 or so we've directly interacted with. In fact, when it comes to *fiction*, it's the opposite of what you say. Authors don't intend their audience to only believe in the existence of those things they write directly about. They intend to create the illusion of a universe that exists beyond their direct writings. Otherwise they've failed. Imagine believing that in any novel you read, only the 20 or so characters directly in the story are the only ones who exist in the world ... In any case, if that's your logic, why don't you believe the evidence provided by the "operator report" that such an npc exists? We don't *need* to imagine the existence of such an npc (that refers to frames as "armoured suits") un-written by DE, because they've now written one. Does whatever DE wants it to do, speaks from their position when they want it to, speaks unreliably when they decide they want it to do that, speaks in tongues when they feel that's instead appropriate.
  13. Only if you interpret it literally and pedantically. Maybe the npc who wrote the operator report believes themselves a poet? That wasn't some kind of test of how quickly/easily you could come up with a handful of names ... It was a question about the relative number of people in the game's universe who know how warframes work. Look who you named. Orokin, Corpus, Tenno and Grineer elite/leaders. Some of who may have only learned recently. A whole part of Alad V's storyline is him trying to figure what warframes are. Out of how many millions or billions of people? You made a comment about "unreliable narrators" and asked Well. The answer is that it's likely that *plenty* of npcs would call it "armour", and DE inventing/introducing someone who uses that word isn't outside the bounds of believability. The "operator report" is written by someone in the game universe. It really isn't that strange that the author might call warframes "armour". Heck, it isn't even that strange that someone might call them "armour" *even* if they know they are remotely piloted via void powers. You know *how* I know the existence of such an npc is believable? Because there are plenty of *real* people who call frames "armour" even though they know how frames are controlled. The evidence is this thread. Plenty of npcs we haven't met. It's not like Warframe is a game with massive amounts of npc interaction. It has a curated set of interactions decided on by DE. In fact, the *very* introduction to an npc that calls them armoured suits *is* the operator report. Like, why is this even a question. It's *right in front of you*. The person who wrote it is probably one of those annoying people who will argue you to death on internet forums and go around justifying sloppy language with all sorts of stupidity. Both you and I know those sorts of people exist - and so having one as an npc in a game is entirely reasonable. Why is this a problem? A significant part of the game's mystique comes from guessing the true nature of frames.
  14. Yeah it's fine. Not everything needs to be taken literally. Besides: I'd turn that question around. Who in the game's universe knows they're remotely controlled by children with void powers? Probably not that many, though with recent events that number may be growing, most people most likely think it's someone in an an armoured suit.
  15. You've spent it all on floofs, haven't you!
  16. Perhaps if the people critiquing Trin could get their facts straight they could build a stronger argument about the areas in which Trin actually needs work.
  17. No. Link reduces 75% of *all* incoming damage as long as she is linked to one enemy. Btw. it also prevents status effects and knockdowns/staggers.
  18. Pillage on Hydroid is redundant. As for Plunder's armour strip: Hydroid's actual source of armour strip is corrosive stacking + passive. Plunder is primarily an armour and damage buff. You don't spam it. Plunder's armour strip is mostly just there to ensure that enemy armour remains stripped when the corrosive stacks are consumed.
  19. Trin has ~94% DR with both Link and Blessing active.
  20. Rivens are there to drive an extreme end-game grind for a close-to-evergreen reward with diminishing returns that self-selects for those players who can be bothered. They are a cherry on top that players can chase as little or as much as they want.
  21. Don't know why people think Trin is not "viable" or not "playable". Perhaps they mean sub-optimal? Or not meta? Trin is outdated and her kit clunky by current standards, but she falls into that category of frames that, while not optimal, are more than adequate to tackle any content. She has infinite energy, shield/health regen, DR, and armour stripping. The armour strip may be 3 at a time, but it switches automatically once something dies so any aoe or melee will quickly chew through a pack of enemies. Back in the day she was considered strong not just in a squad but *on her own*. Her kit hasn't changed since then but there's been major power creep. Oberon is much the same way. Could they do with a facelift? Sure, but they aren't weak across the board like Hydroid was. Bit of an exaggeration there. The only issue is her low duration abilities that she needs to keep recasting, and her redundant first ability: You don't need to lower duration for EV, just killing the enemy will release all the energy. She only needs power range for her 3. Her 4 doesn't need power range as it's based on affinity range. She only needs moderate power strength for full DR, full armour strip, adequate healing and adequate energy from EV. Her squad mates no longer need her spamming high strength EV across the map for their energy or shields. The low duration EV meta (that was only necessary in pre-made squads doing events, raids or xp farming) is long dead. She doesn't care about efficiency at all. The only trade-off (thanks to Narrow Minded) is between range and duration for QoL in maintaining her buffs.
  22. Only the real one shows up on enemy radar.
