  1. There's always Baruuk!
  2. Warframe has never bothered to maintain the coherence or integrity of its universe over time and to a sufficient extent that "immersion" isn't *already* fragmented. "Immersion" is only brought up at times like this. Where are the reams and reams of threads on it? *crickets*
  3. The whole war thing was over so quick I didn't even notice. Not to mention how much it grates that previous wars were live universe style and applied across the whole community via shared events and synchronised updates to the world state, and this was an hour or so to flip my own starchart instance in a solo quest. I had a whole "that was the war? that was it?" feeling going on when I finished. Not saying other aspects of the quest weren't immersive, but the "war" was a flop. And if immersion is so important, maybe they should fix Alad's and other continuity issues, introduce the bosses on each planet, etc. (and where was "immersion" when it came to the idea of quest skip?)
  4. Yeah nah. You can *greatly* vary how much you need to do any of these things in the rest of Warframe. You can build a tank, reducing the time pressure to kill things fast before they kill you. You can use AoE or CC abilities, reducing the pressure on aiming. You can play in a way that none of these things need to be coordinated together. And for the worst bits? To shoot that glowy bit on that one boss you can't handle and come across once in a blue moon? You can bring in a friend or pub or whatever. You keep the room clear of the ads, or you provide buffs or whatever, and they do the one thing you struggle with. And that's fine because you're still assisting, and Warframe was billed from the start as a *co-op* looter shooter. Not a single player adventure with a co-op multiplayer element (for example, like Mass Effect 3).
  5. "Story skip" pisses people off because DE creates *both* the problems (intentionally or unintentionally) and the solutions. TNW is/was an *intentional* problem that the suggested story skip shows DE has changed their mind on but were trying to get by with the cheapest and easiest (and apparently profitable) solution they could possibly implement. Little wonder people aren't inclined to let it pass quietly.
  6. There are things they could do that are not story skip, but all of them would take more work.
  7. What they would have learned from those previous quests is the game is lenient. The game built hundreds or thousands* of hours of a specific set of expectations and then threw out a "nope, this game is not for you after all". * Live service, remember, we're talking people playing prior to the release of TNW. This is *not* actually a single player game you play through linearly. Only a new player will experience a fairly straight run of "checks" up to TNW. You haven't thought this through. Even if the previous content doesn't make for great checks, *most* people will probably have run some of it as a "check" without using any alternatives offered. Either that or they quit, game filters working as intended. So who do you think will go through *everything* and *always* use the "escape" hatch that is *always* on offer prior to TNW, only to find there isn't one in TNW? Someone who *has* to.
  8. They removed it as an alternative starting path. Now you always do Awakening first, but you can still do The Duviri Paradox after Vor's Prize.
  9. Oh not this old argument again. This is false. No other content has the same *combination* of restrictions on it as The New War. The New War applies *every* possible restriction *simultaneously*. No other content does this, which means that all other content always has *some* way around. You can play co-op. You can change your loadout. You can back out, go farm better gear and try again. You can die as many times as you like and attrit your way through. There's no time pressure. ETC. Yes, you can find each of these restrictions individually or in smaller combinations at some point or other in other content, but not *all together, simultaneously*. That means, even if you can *choose to apply skill* to other content, you can also *always choose to circumvent the skill required*. Hence they are not good "skill checks" and do not *guarantee* the player who has "passed" them will be prepared for what follows. That means someone can make it through the entire game up until The New War without ever having been tested on the skill required for The New War. Take The Sacrifice. You can "die" as many times as you like in Stalker fight and he does *not* regenerate shields or health. That means you can attrit him to death. Hence, *not* a skill check for the Drifter archon fights. Take The War Within. There is *no* time pressure for any of the operator segments. None of the MR tests are any good either. Oh thank god. Someone who actually knows the content of this game and isn't theory crafting "skill checks" out of non-existence. The only saving grace for The New War is that it's not *that* hard, and that means probably only a tiny tiny minority of players (who DE have decided they can live without) are going to get stuck on it. Also, maybe now that Duviri is there early on maybe that changes things a bit.
  10. If it's a clan on another platform, you need to enable cross platform for your alliance.
  11. This is not a pissing competition. The whole point is you can be done with the *clan requirements* each week in just *one mission*. Splinters have nothing to do with the clan costs he's talking about. There's no advantage or disadvantage in the size of your clan or the number of active players when farming splinters. You can play the event with other friends, pre-formed groups from recruiting chat, or even pub it.
  12. Fair point, but they're not just talking this event. They're talking *before* and *after*. See: This is not correct, They're only at a disadvantage because they chose to increase their clan capacity (and incur the corresponding raised costs) by building a barracks and then *not use it*. In any case, it's not just this event that will have increased costs. *All* of their farming up until now for their *solo* clan must have had increased costs. Didn't they notice? I have (effectively) a solo clan too. It takes *two* of each curse per week. That's just *one* run of the 60 eyes boss.
  13. That's the second tier. 10 member Ghost clan is smallest. Remove your barracks.
  14. Afterwards is Shouting Without the Walls.
  15. Players may have more than two accounts with additional non-cloned (unique) accounts alongside the original + copy. That includes cases where players progressed their unique account + PC original instead of the copy. For example, people who asked for a Switch clone "just in case" but never used it unintentionally borked their future selves. In such cases, players would like to merge the unique account with a single clone of their choice (which could be the original or the copy). Surely the restriction on merging cloned accounts is to prevent duplicating inventory, so merging a unique account with just one of the clones should not be a problem? That is, the process could be: for each pair of clones let players choose which (single) clone to use in cross-save (with the other being excluded), and then merge all included accounts.
  16. Well, in game and people in region chat reporting that they got their cross save on :P. Is it safe to come out of hiding yet?
  17. They announced a 9 hour (or shorter) window for people to get in on cross save, or face a wait until next year. Not the wisest thing they've ever done.
  18. Could we have a robotic companion with an Acrithis hologram/module installed. I reckon she'd love to see and explore another whole universe outside of Duviri.
  19. There are avg 50k concurrent players on steam. Not sure how many on console. So if everyone just gave a couple of 5p argon crystal decorations (only way to make your argon permanent!) we'd hit the cap :-P.
  20. Just make your way around the starchart at your own pace (first to Mercury and then back through Mars). Find some quests and stuff to do along the way. Craft and level up any equipment you get access to as you go. Modding is important, but if you're finding it too much at the moment, just throw anything on :-P. The important thing is to be aware that a significant part of your power will eventually come from mods. If/when you feel like your pace is slowing down, then it's time to start learning to mod.
  21. 1) Strip their armour. 2) Load them up with status procs. 3) Apply a damage amplifier (buff/de-buff). 4) Hit them with a high dps weapon.
  22. I have a video from the second run, but I only thought to take it right on the scan, so ... all you see is *something* that looks a bit like one (holding two prods :-P) getting scanned. I can still post it if you want. I also can't say how rare they are, only that I can confirm they do pop up.
  23. Testing again ... will keep you posted. [edit] Just got another two (so now I have 3/3 scans). To drag things out: capped two towers until over halfway then capped another and let them recap it.
