  1. Another year, another Nights of Naberus. This recurring event reminds me that Warframe lacks significant events that are unique and exciting to get into, and part of this is that events have become a recycled mission, not a new experience. Relay reconstruction in the Pyrus Project didn't offer players something spectacular in rewards, but the experience was fresh and cool, with a couple of added rewards to signify you played it. This was the way most events and Operations (rip) have been treated in Warframe's history, but slowly we have gone into a direction of getting zero new events for years in a row while only being offered a couple new cosmetics in the same scheduled events with little to no improvement in how they play. Dog Days, Thermia Fractures, Cambion Drift Bounties, and Plague Star all have well-known gameplay issues that quickly make them feel stale, and these are hardly addressed, even 2, 3, or even 6 years later in the case of Plague Star. Buried Debts, Plague Star, Naberus, and Dog Days felt interesting, but only on their introduction. These events still offer that novelty if you're a newer player who is on their first run, but I would like to know how many participants in these events are "first timers" compared to players who have already played them more than once. I'm not sure if there is fixation on rewards more than anything else that drives these missions to become so stale, or because we're actually in a new era of the game that lacks new events to reduce development load. I know that Plague Star and Scarlet Spear are often requested to return purely for their rewards with a complete disregard for what mission is actually being available. If Scarlet Spear and Plague Star were scheduled as often as Dog Days or Nights of Naberus, their rewards (with the sole exception of Forma) would become less valuable as duplicates to the point of not being valuable to farm for (as we see with Basmu, Ceti Lacera, and almost Exodia Contagion). This is especially the case when rewards are cross-pollinated between these events. I'm sitting out this year from Nights of Naberus because all the duplicate rewards are worth peanuts now. I'm writing this topic not because I want to see every event become a new gamemode (even though I deeply miss Operations), but because I would like to see things like Nights of Naberus, Dog Days, Buried Debts, and Plague Star actually offer improvements each time they come around, and not just a couple of cosmetics with the same core issues each time. I wrote feedback for Cambion Drift bounties two years ago, and only one of the major issues with the replayability of them is being addressed, but that's just a coincidence with the accessibility option to highlight allies and enemies coming with Dagath. I am hoping that DE is actually reworking Plague Star this year to be a more fresh experience, and not just fixing all the ways that players have optimized it better (like Drone manipulation). A simple change in the dynamic of recurring events that I would find appreciative for returning players is the opportunity to earn a Stratos Emblem in some fashion. This would boost the likelihood a player will check in and possibly try changes DE has made to the mission or farm. For those unaware, the Stratos Emblem is a shoulder badge that changes symbol in a progressive manner based on how many Tactical Alerts you have completed. It's a stat only you can see on your own profile if you are curious what your count is:
  2. I'm aware of how it happened, I just wanted to update this very old thread to show it's still an ongoing issue and a flaw with the way your settings as a configuration file are stored and updated. I could 100% understand having this issue if I was tinkering with settings at the exact moment of power failure, but just sitting in my ship should not risk configuration file corruption. When I mentioned "I'm curious why it did that", it wasn't because I didn't know it corrupted the file and defaulted, I'm curious why this is even set up this way, especially with my idle gameplay activity. Warframe config files have all sorts of anomalies, like losing settings when you change your username, or carrying Glyphs between logins. Anyways, cheers for including some detail for other people potentially viewing the thread. :)
  3. This is one of those multi-year old feedback points that has long become a "beaten dead horse" topic like Universal Vacuum. You're not wrong or anything in that individual extraction is good to have in all areas of the game, but I just wanted to welcome you to the waiting club for this kind of painfully-old feedback. Surely it will happen one day, like the 8 years it took to detach Syndicate Sigils from standing earnings. Maybe one day I'll get around to documenting them all in one post for people to easily reference.
  4. Yeah, but like I said, that's a long gone era of the game. Accessibility is the focus now, not creating achievements for a select group of players. Even when Trials were around, the community leaderboards were just the same people. The nature of live service also dampens achievements like these because the game is constantly changing.
  5. I just had this same issue. Curious why it did that, and Google brought me here.
  6. As much as I'd like to see clan and alliances not be reduced to dead portions of the game in terms of features, I doubt we will see any improvements with how the game is going in terms of how content is designed. "Competitive clans" are a thing in the past. There's not been an Operation in 4 years now, and before then they were already dwindling. The only thing you can have as a clan is an old dojo.
  7. Status Update from [DE]Megan: I went ahead and added a hyperlink to "this thread" to mark the original bug report should there be issues or a player needs to reference the post.
  8. If you grind your way into Steel Path in 3 weeks, you won't take 6 months to get Focus to a point where Steel Path is more manageable. You're also omitting the entire Forma system, modding in general, Arcanes, and general build knowledge. Focus alone doesn't make you Steel Path ready, and it's just another point of progression. Moving players through Focus faster doesn't actually serve them better, it just lowers the bar further on more late-game activities. At the end of the day I really don't care. I finished Focus multiple times over 6 years ago now. I was just agreeing with the sentiment another user brought up regarding progression.
  9. The Forums have always been a way that only supports certain kinds of discussion. The other major thing to consider is that it only sorts comments chronologically. Sure, I've gotten a reputation for my post quality and feedback, but also in regards to the timing of my posts. Even though it may seem that I "farm" reputation, I'm just voicing the opinions I would have anyway, just in a position where it's seen. I strive to make sure I'm bringing up concerns when I feel it's most relevant (given how old some issues are). The direction the Forums are going in the way you're describing is more so due to how people comment and how it's moderated, not really the platform itself. Twitter and Reddit have their own platform issues, like Reddit only advertising the more "with the crowd" comments, not necessarily because they have the best points of discussion.
  10. Before Scarlet Spear it was 5 years without said event. Those Arcanes don't need to be event rewards all the time. It used to be fun just getting a Wraith/Vandal of an existing weapon.
  11. These content updates are later game missions that you're expected to have Focus for. Steel Path is not something for a player who hasn't bothered with Focus. The same goes for Arbitrations and all sorts of other content. The only piece of content that contradicts itself with Focus is Eidolons. Not everything has to be accessible to players who aren't progressed.
  12. When I farmed Focus, the cap didn't scale and Eidolons weren't in the game yet, with only Greater and normal Lens at my disposal. Even then, it wasn't that bad, because it was meant to be a long-term goal that you worked towards through excess Affinity. If Focus acquisition is a slog, that kind of means that you dislike a core portion of the gameplay and progression given that it's just Affinity. What @master_of_destiny summed up is quite valid and has merit.
  13. I was merely pointing out that another player was just pissing in the wind with their hope for more real progression instead of pandering to the modern laziness you see in gaming where people just want the dopamine of the rewards/finish line. I can't say I disagree with them though. They bring up valid points and I make feedback the same way, even when I know it won't do anything. Im not too sure what you're commenting about towards me to be honest.
  14. This has been a trend for years now. If you're concerned about progression like this (which is valid), 2018 removing Trials should have been your queue to expect this to happen.
  15. There's kind of a skill in knowing how to spot a good trade in the sea of ads from players. You're bound to find people that are speaking outside what would be a good deal for you. It is what it is and you just have to ignore them and move on. The more time you spend talking to those people, the more likely you are to miss a good sale in chat.
  16. Why not just learn how to do the Hydrolyst? It's mechanically identical with just additional lures and limbs.
  17. I added a status update on the Deconstructor issue for the Hacksmith-Bot code from [DE]Megan. Hang tight! :)
  18. Awesome. I will forward your comment in my promocode megathread until it's resolved. Cheers.
  19. Having an item like that halfway through progression as a special item would make more sense than introductory. It would be no different than being allowed 2 choices for starter Warframes instead of one. Even then though, the rush cost is actually not that much once you realize the opportunities of trading farmed items. I still don't understand how a "free craft on us" item would be a positive for the new player long term. Pushing players through starter content has several consequences following the short term gains of their fast-tracked progression. One key issue here is that some mechanics in games are just not shown honestly from the start because they are anti-player mechanics to begin with. 100% transparency with crafting in Warframe would result in fewer players wasting resources or Platinum overall. I remember when I first started playing I assumed blueprints were reusable given they were just a map and not the components (I had never played a multiplayer loot game prior), and I sold extra Forma blueprints and Catalyst blueprints early on. I dissolved extra copies of mods when fusing (before Endo), even though some of those would be worth quite alot of Platinum now (such as my enormous amount of Nightmare mods from the Nightmare Law of Retribution that I dissolved to rank up Primed Mods and such back then).
  20. The last time a Warframe got a proper rework before this Hydroid one was Grendel, and before that, I don't even know if Prime Resurgence was added yet to be honest. It feels like eternity prior to Grendel where a Warframe got a rework tackling their entire kit while preserving the concept and theme of what was originally added. I can't even remember who was properly tuned before Grendel. Most of what we have seen is just tweaks or fixing up recent releases in the roster.
  21. @Somnium_Bellator is actually correct on this one. I can confirm as I asked someone who redeemed the code without owning a single companion. You in fact only recieve a Helios with an Orokin Reactor installed and no Deconstructor. I added a correction to my post and also added the expiration date of this code as well: This problem is not the end of the world given this is just a free sentinel slot at worst, but a mild annoyance that you would have to craft a second Helios to earn normal Deconstructor. Hopefully there is a chance players who redeemed this code could be given Deconstructor via a script or something. The bug report:
  22. There is a new promocode (Hacksmith-Bot) that gives the player 3 things: 3-day Affinity Booster Domestik Drone Helios installed with an Orokin Reactor The given Helios does not come with the associated sentinel weapon: Deconstructor. A mild oversight, but worth the bug report nonetheless. Hopefully there is a chance players who redeemed this code could be given Deconstructor via a script or something.
