  1. I honestly can't tell if this is satirical or not. Like, it's correct, but also with how enemies struggle to kill other enemies once armor starts scaling up. Is this even a desirable trait? Inaros isn't exactly amazing but he has his uses. He's especially good for new players because he can tackle arbies/Orbs/archons/early sp with a VERY cheap setup. Players with a ton of investment aren't likely to use him but being a newbie friendly frame gives him an actual use. Like, there's a couple activities where, dependant on player progression, inaros is actually the best option to complete the task and I can recommend him to that player. I can't think of a situation where nyx has a niche carved out for her.
  2. Because at levels where armor strip actually matters. It's very rare that you'll only be shooting six enemies at a time. Realistically it's minimum 10, closer to 25. And in content where spawns are low enough where you are killing enemies in groups of 5 or below where it would actually be a competitive option, armor strips are pointless cause everything dies incredibly fast anyways.
  3. Ambulas is just awful. At least with archons you have access to ways to make the mission significantly faster and throughout you have stuff to do. Ambulas is incredibly boring with basically no way to speed it up. You know a boss is genuinely bad when the time it takes to clear it as a new player is the same as when you have access to everything in the game.
  4. He's one of the few frames that powercreep has actually helped him feel way better to build and play and actually increased his use cases. His issues a while ago were: 1. You needed enough str to reach 100% armor strip break point on his 4 and give bubble a decent amount of base eHP, enough range to hit a ton of enemies, enough duration to get good cc and to take actual advantage of his augment that boosts damage on frozen enemies and enough efficiency to spam his 4 and 3 cause they required high up time. 2. His energy economy was trash. His max was bad, and he needed to spam his abilities to function. 3. His survivability at high levels was tied to staying inside your bubble. And as I've said numerous times about any frame, if you have to sacrifice mobility in warframe to stay alive, that makes the frame trash in my eyes. 4. His second ability was (still is) useless. His first ability kinda is as well but its used to delete his globes which is important if you don't want to annoy everyone else. 5. He Needed natural talent because he relied on ability spam. 1. The str needed to reach optimal play was lowered and molt augmented/shards have made it very, very easy to hit that requirement without sacrificing other stats. 2. Energize, Archon flow, Zenurik, etc, we have a bunch of ways to sustain energy. 3. Shield gating has basically made surviving on any frame with shields fairly easy and very cheap in terms of build capacity. But unlike nyx and her 4, his globes still have a use for defense objectives which SP circuit actually values again. Not needing to invest in survivability at all also allows him to get a nice stat spread because he wants fairly high values in ALL stats to function. 4. Helminth makes frames with a useless ability feel way better to use. Gives access to more cc, more damage, grouping, shield gating abilities (although I don't recommend pillage since stacking armor strips makes playing frost feel kinda redundant) etc. 5. Shards save you a slot for casting speed. https://imgur.com/a/Jc9doTP What I use. You don't need all that forma. That's just for other builds/experimentation. Also, SP circuit being the flavor of the month content has helped him a lot cause frames that can get by in general killing stuff have value since you don't always have access to the frames that commit war crimes to enemies. And defense objectives show up pretty often so him and other defense-focused frames' stock have gone up due to that as well.
  5. Oh yeah, the one positive thing I can say about nyx is she makes aoe weapons feel so bad that single target weapons might honestly be better. Because on the context of steel path her armor strip might as well be single target.
  6. TBF, I think pablo has talked about it before when it comes to touching up old frames. Deciding who gets a touch-up next is more based on inspiration rather than a set list of frames they have to get through. If DE thinks of a cool realistic way to improve a frame and it fits into their content schedule, they'll work on that frame independent of factors like how long ago was their last touch up.
  7. Nyx is one of the worst frames in the game. And my personal least favorite frame. 1. Mind control: Enemies still suck at killing other enemies. The ability to boost its damage by shooting it helped, but usually, in the time it takes to boost its damage to decent levels when it would actually matter, you could kill more enemies by shooting them instead. 2. Psychic Bolts: This is her best ability, but it's still very, very bad. We have access to armor strips like pillage which you give shield gating, terrify which gives you cc, fire blast which gives you cc, and applies heat procs ETC. And those are just helminth abilities. If you look at none helminth abilities, even a frame like frost who people ask for buffs a lot, has a aoe armor strip, that also ccs, and applies a large damage boost if you are using the augment. And what all these armor strips I listed have in common is, they don't have limits on how many enemies they can affect at a time, which is STUPIDLY important in a horde shooter where you can have 40 units shooting you all at once. Psychic Bolts on the other hand affects SIX enemies and if you use it again you lose it on the previous ones which I shouldn't have to explain why this ability is so bad in a horde shooter. 3. Chaos: Order winners for cc abilities are ones that A. stop the enemies from shooting you B. sets the enemies up in a way where it is easy to headshot them. Chaos does neither. Enemies still will shoot you if you get too close. They aren't particularly easier to shoot as they will often turn away from you moving their head hitbox. The "damage" you get from enemies shooting each other is pretty bad, as we have established enemies suck at killing other enemies. Awful cc ability. 4. Absorb: This ability has only gotten less valuable over time. Contrary to what some people might tell you, immortality generally doesn't cost much in warframe. Tons of frames can live forever at basically no cost to themselves. Again, using frost as an example, prior to shield gating, his survivability was tied to staying inside bubbles, and limiting mobility is an awful cost to pay for immortality in warframe. After shield gating, he was no longer reliant on bubbles to stay alive, BUT they still had a purpose by defending defense objectives fairly well. This ability had a defendable point before shield gating, was still very bad considering back then it still wasn't that hard to live forever. But after shield gating... wow, it's worthless. What the %#$@ is the value of absorb now that Nyx uses shield gating to survive like every other casting-based frame?????? At least with frost power creep has made him way more enjoyable and buildable. Because you can reach all his key break points in stats easily with stuff like molt augment and energize. And shield gating removed his mobility tied to survivability limitation. And helminth is a nice bandaid fix for having a useless ability. Nyx has just gotten worse with power creep because her very, very, very niche advantages have become redundant. And before someone comments "I can clear sp content just fine with her" cool. Turns out you can give a blind monkey a tenet arca plasmor and suddenly the frame choice doesn't actually matter for clearing SP.
  8. I'm fine with theme overlap as long as it doesn't also overlap in gameplay and usage. in the simplest way Gyre and Volt are electric themed. But there's a number of nuances on their theming that distinguishes them. Volt being more akin to electric speedster, and gyre being more of a electromagnetism caster. And their gameplay styles are also pretty distinct. Not to say there isn't issues with themes in Warframes. Nyx having a disconnect between theme and gameplay. And revenant being a vampire frame with a three theme fitting abilities that could also pass as sentient abilities. But then 1 full sentient ability grafted at the hip with no relationship to vampires. But overlap isn't really an issue for me yet.
  9. Yeah it's unfort, but also... I don't blame the devs because it really was too easy to afk the event. It was similar to mobile defense where limbo can complete it by pressing 9 ish buttons and without shooting a single enemy bar nullifiers or now other stuff that can pass through his field. Only reason he wasn't nerfed before was because mobile defense style missions haven't mattered in a long, long time. I think it's why they have tried to drift away from content where you don't need to kill enemies cause our tools for CC are just insanely powerful and don't have an easy fix.
  10. I really hope they bring it back. I think the main issue with it was the bugs and inequality in rewards. One side was more efficient than the other which created a queue issue. If these two issues were fixed I think the event would actually be pretty good.
  11. Kinda off topic, but does subsuming frames give mastery? I thought it didn't but it kinda makes sense if it does.
  12. I think the current systems are actually pretty good tbh. SP as a benchmark for "end-game" higher-level content is fine. It scratches that itch of actually requiring me to put SOME thought into my builds if I want to solo content while still being attainable for the majority of the playerbase which is a big goal for DE. SP circuit is also pretty good as the step above SP. Cause it rewards horizontal improvement in gear rather than vertical improvement. I think where the difficulty curve could use some smoothing is in the in-between. Like normal star chart to SP there's kinda not too much? It's like sorties and arbies? Maybe you could count tridolons, orbs and railjack but I think they are sorta off shoots not exactly a progression of standard warframe gameplay.
  13. https://imgur.com/a/Jc9doTP This is what I use. I do think he's not as strong as other defense frames when it comes to that niche, but he's more ungo bunga than gara and less hated than limbo so eh. (You obviously don't need all that forma but it's just so I don't have to use multiple frames to fit my builds.) Most important things for him. 1. Hitting 166% str for full armor strip, very easy with a max molt augmented. 2. Energy sustain is important for frost cause if you want to not stand still inside bubbles to survive you rely on shield gating in higher level sp content. So archon flow, energize, zenurik etc. I also use a blue shard to increase his max further. 3. Cast speed also stupid important. Two amber shards or sub natural talent in somewhere because if you want any sort of basic mobility you have to rely on shield gates for decent level content in sp. 4. Decent enough duration to actually take advantage of Biting Frost for damage boost. Because his 2 is worthless I rec helminth a cc or damage boost ability over it. I don't think you should run pillage although the shield regen is nice, as having two armor strip abilities makes me question why you are using frost in the first place.
  14. I thought there was something against this. I don't know for sure, but I swear it was bannable if you tried to automate the game using external methods.
  15. Why? Most definitions of mastery fit what it represents in Warframe. Not that the actual meaning of the word matters over how it sounds. Knowledge rank doesn't roll off the tongue quite as well.
  16. It's not a measure of skill cause warframe isn't about skill checks but gear checks. You can have all the "skill" in the world, but you still can't kill an archon with just an unmodded stug. What it does show is knowledge of where and generally how to farm most things. Like if you ask an Mr 30 how to get a kuva weapon they can probably explain the entire process without needing to wiki anything.
  17. The most out of line one for me was the styanax nerf to being able to continuously ult. It wasn't broken. It was very fun. And de took issue with that and removed it. The ammo economy nerf is a close second though. I agree to an extent that some sort of nerf was necessary, but there was a ton of bystander weapons caught in the cross fire just trying to exist. Also has kinda ruined explosive weapons for me due to just how fast they run dry. Still hoping for an ammo revert and instead self damage, stagger, or just more targeted nerfs instead of a shotgun spray hitting random weapons.
  18. Of the frames I have built that are SP ready, so helminth when needed and usually at least 1 archon shard and ofc the full forma experience. S - Saryn. Mesa, Octavia A - Ash, Revenant, Volt, Trinity, Titania, Atlas, Baruuk, Ember, Garuda, Gara B - Vauban, Frost, Nova, Nekros, Zephyr, Mag, Hildryn C - Chroma, Mirage, Rhino, Inaros D - Khora, Nidus S has just an insane amount of kill power without relying on weapons at all. A also has very good kill power with no to minimal reliance on weapons/Teammates. B Consists of armor strip + CC usually relies on teammates/weapons more than the above tiers, BUT they still provide a solid amount of utility. C Good or even great when you have ok weapons, but if you don't, they don't feel good. D is just kinda a pain in the butt to make work. I just dislike having to make a new stat stick build for khora everytime I play her in the circuit. Assuming I even own the weapon it usually takes a little bit of investment to make it an ok stat stick, which is not usually worth it unless I have no other options. Nidus is in this weird spot of having no access to shield gate abuse while also not having that much raw eHP in the context of SP circuit. I'm still working through updating prime frames to try them out in SP circuit, the only one I revisited and just felt overwhelmingly disappointed by has been oberon, on paper I thought he was going to be ok. Self revive, armor strip, small damage boost and a helminth ability slot. But in practice has been bleh. Armor strip inconsistent, need to helminth an ability for shield gate abuse spam to survive long missions, the damage buff is ok but nothing to write home about.
  19. I ALWAYS leave with the host because of the consistency of host migrations happening in that mode. Even if it's supposedly been fixed, I ain't risking it.
  20. Probably complaining about everything being dead and nothing to shoot at? Idk only complaint I can think of.
