  1. Running a Dojo is certainly a commitment if you're shooting beyond functionality. A lot of players are way too eager to get to Mountain Rank, get their hopes up and are annihilated when they see the costs. Advice? Suck it up and stay at Ghost until you're dialed in. Target Nekros early and ALWAYS choose the resource booster whenever it crosses your path.
  2. If you don't get the issue, I'm wasting my time with you.
  3. Yeah, why is no one talking about Saryn,... A good Saryn player (non 4 spammer) is about 1 in 400. Those players are far, far more irritating than anything Khora could dish out.
  4. The Entrati family on Deimos is also still present and very much active. Though biologically cursed and likely prisoners for eternity. (given the infested regenerative nature.) Kuva I don't think would work for them. Was this discussed? Well, anyway. Not all Orokin died... certainly.
  5. It's a shrinking minority, but some players honestly didn't know It was a force start issue. A player pointed it out to me, and I stopped.
  6. Nova or Trinity. Nova with Gloom on 3 makes for great pacing control and excellent damage buffs Trinity's kit just keeps rolling along. My longest run was with her.
  7. There are laser alternatives. Let Warframe be Warframe. . . . And really if this is a Star Wars / Jedi envy thing, personally I think a Tenno & Warframe would mop the floor with a Jedi or Sith.
  8. Ripped from Reddit: (on costs / reality of dedicated servers.) The cost can vary a lot, and it also depends on how it's done. If you host the servers "in house," then you're responsible for buying and maintaining the machines. That means hardware, backbone connections, bandwidth, support team, repair costs, electricity, etc. There's also the matter of having multiple connections to internet providers (we're talking backbone providers like Level 3 and Cogent, not last-mile providers like Comcast or Time Warner) in case one of them goes out or a line gets cut. Backup power in case of public power loss. And multiple physical locations around the globe to host local servers so everyone can play with a reasonable ping. Then there's the option of paying someone else to manage all of that and just rent a group of servers from various locations. I rent a cheap server from a colocation facility (~USD$66/month, paid annually), and I can host three maybe four copies of a Killing Floor server on it. Depending on how a game and server is made, a single machine could host many more. Thus, renting a quality server costs a thousand a year or more, depending on the quality of the server. And usually has a "startup cost" because they have to buy the hardware and don't want you renting it for one month and dropping it, sticking them with the hardware cost. Let's say a USD$1500/year server can host 12 copies of a game server. Steam Stats http://store.steampowered.com/stats says there are about 7000 people playing Evolve right now. Five players a game, that's 1400 copies that need hosting. 12 copies per machine, that's about 115 servers. At L$1500/yr, that's $172,500 per year. Plus any fees (generally several hundred each) for renting a new server. And it's likely they need to keep more than that available so people can still play at peak hours, even though in the off hours and a month from now that number of servers required is gonna go down. It's likely if you're renting that many servers you can get some sort of deal from the colocation agency. But still, it's a lot of money. This is why several games take the "free dedicated server" approach. Anyone can download the dedicated server code -- it doesn't have any game assets like sounds, models, etc included anyway -- and then host the game themselves. Killing Floor right now has thousands of servers online, none of them (or maybe just a couple? I dunno) hosted by Tripwire. It also has the ability to do a "listen server," so someone can start up their own local server that only runs while they're playing the game. Anyway, a more reasonable development solution, because it takes less development time and is compatible with consoles, is to have ONLY listen servers, and then only maintain a "master server" that helps point people trying to join at the people hosting. Which is why you see that a whole lot more lately than things like dedicated servers. Having a developer or more likely a development team build and maintain a dedicated server package for a game costs time and money to create and is then given away for free. In this age of DLC, it can be hard for corporate to see the logic in that.
  9. Would love to have Sfx nodes, (like particle nodes) to override dojo music with an adjustable sound radius.
  10. Trolled a clan member by giving him a Despair Riven... He had been looking for the BP for years. Never seemed to find it.
  11. This is good. Asking the questions though: After the slaughter of the Orokin wouldn't all warframe production be canceled on the spot? When they say "Slaughter of the Orokin" did they mean all? Clearly not, if the Entrati family is still alive. The Council of Seven? Yeah I's say that would be a crippling blow certainly. If the "Low Guardian" was helminth infested to become a Warframe candidate. Who was the Operator? Is the stalker operator still alive? That would be a traitor Tenno. Given the Acolytes, this becomes more perplexing. If Operator is dead, (Aren't tenno immortal by lore? Possessing Oro?) the Stalker warframe is caught in a transference loop (But still functional?) We'll start with that. Love theories.
  12. Do: Get Level 3 standing on Deimos (Get Helminth (from the Son)) QUEST: "Apostacy Prologue" QUEST: "Rising Tide" QUEST: "New War" QUEST: "Angels of the Zariman:" QUEST: "Duviri Paradox" Farm: Citrine Warframe (Mars) head to the new mission Tyana Pass over on Mars. Voruna Warframe (Lua) Play on Yuvarium with a full squad for 20 minutes before extracting (this will unlock Circulus) Gyre Warframe (Zariman) Bounties from Quinn Lavos Warframe (If you must) Interact with Father located in the Necralisk to start Operation: Orphix Venom. Bare bones, there's a lot to do, but that list will get you oriented.
  13. His gauge can be reinterpreted to either "filling" a meter or "emptying" a meter. Point is Baruuk is what Voruna should haver been in the first place. I noticed that ongoing endless thread: "When are we going to get that were-wolf frame?" If Baruuk was actually what the writeup description implies, he would absorb damage from a singular enemy and redirect it back in an Aikido type manner. This could be radial like Nyx OR directed specifically. (Illuminate the enemy that hit you.) I could honestly see Baruuk with a singular purpose like a former meta Dragon Warframe we used to have. A "Boss Slayer".
  14. Mirage and Saryn are bad enough with overextended. When you can finish a defense round with never having seen an enemy... Something is broken. I left Octavia off the list because issued mallet damage is blocked by static collision.
  15. Thought about that myself being a newly appointed 30. (ps5) your point is valid imo. Although I go most often to Maroo's. Where I think the most people will benefit from the drop chance booster for all those Dojo owners like me-self. Anywho...
  16. It's your musty 10 year old space RV. This thing isn't meant for combat.
  17. Having made a new account that I don't play much (PC) 6 months ago. PS4 account got going around Zephyr prime. I just got my archwing launcher recently. What a frigging grind for iridite and oxium! Asking new players to suffer as much as we did reeks of entitlement. Give the new guys a break... jeezum crisp! And yeah, I read affinity... same thing applies.
  18. I have not tried it but Octavia with augment "conductor", might help with Aggro. Send it away from defense target and have sit stationary. Helminth also gives resonator. It could work with a long duration setup. I believe you could also have Khora's kitty heal to defense target as well. Keep experimenting.
  19. Well Jungian psychology is hardly crap, and it frequently surfaces in warframe. Try replaying The Second Dream or The Sacrifice. Consider what the narrative is trying to convey from a psychological perspective.
  20. The Stalker is a physical manifestation of the operator's Jungian shadow in league with Hunhow. In analytical psychology, the shadow (also known as ego-dystonic complex, repressed id, shadow aspect, or shadow archetype) is an unconscious aspect of the personality that does not correspond with the ego ideal, leading the ego to resist and project the shadow. In short, the shadow is the self's emotional blind spot, projected (as archetypes—or, metaphorical sense-image complexes, personified within the collective unconscious) My personal theory, not a fact.
  21. As far as radial damage goes, the Tenet Ferrox has a heavy attack / Alt fire where it leaves post stuck in the surface it is thrown at with continuous horizontal expanding rings of radiation damage for about 30 seconds. Acquired at the Perrin Sequence on any relay other than Maroo's Bazaar for 40 holo-keys.
  22. Ikr, but for me it's cast and enjoy. I put a lot of effort into my 🎵. When I am writing my failure rate is pretty high. I'd say 1 song in 10 makes past the chopping block. You can tell when you've nailed it. Players stick around longer. You get message compliments or requests for your tunes. That for me is engagement of a different sort, but I do consider it engagement. When left with the default sound channels, It gets dry very quickly. ( Alpha, Beta and Horos are the channels I use most often.) My pov is niche, I accept that. I knew Octavia would be cited as a counterpoint to engagement as she always is. I don't disagree with you. I just draw a different degree of satisfaction from playing her.
  23. Engagement, pure and simple. I find that Mag is an Excellent frame for me. I'm always casting, always repositioning, always looking for a new way to do something cool or inventive. Opposite of engagement: Xaku's 4.
